@@rezarfar Facts hurt your rhetoric. I know exactly what i am talking about, i have spent my entire life in IT, game optimisation on PC practically does not exist and you DO need a 2K+ for 4K 60fps in modern titles even with frame insertion and upscaling.
They’re in a position to make demands, and make their prices….the sells of the ps5 during the pandemic. It demonstrated how far people will go for a ps5, and Xbox failing for the past decade pretty much put Sony a position to make demands and set prices.
PS6 be like: - $999 - No disc drive - Digital only - Online-only games with Always-On DRMs implemented that could shut down any time in the future "You'll own nothing and be happy".
And 800€ vs. those $700 are the other joke to me. Yes, our friends in the US always have better prices than us in Europe. But more than 100€ difference?!

@@TheStenius that's $700 before taxes though so the difference will be smaller
I can buy a new 4070 Super or used one and save some money. I really love what they are doing with it but I don’t know if I can justify it. It is too expensive in Europe.
@@isitme1234 since I need a PC to work, and also enjoy gaming, I ended up buying a pricier PC that does both things, so I don´t have to buy two different devices. Also, games on pc eshops are way cheaper than on console shops. At least they are in my country (this way you end up paying way less to play games on pc on the long run). Also, here in my country, a new gaming console is sold at least at twice the price it´s sold on US. So it will be 1400 dolars here for a long time... plus it´s much more fun to play on pc lol, I have multiple screens, on one of them I play games, the other a leave the news on, or social media or something work related, I love it.
That's why there was no big announcement, this is for enthusiasts to buy, not your mainstream buyer. Those who understand BOM costs and current tech trends, find 700 a great price for such hardware when you factor in what's inside and form factor.
PS5 Pro -No disk drive -No vertical stand -No bank account after purchase (expensive af) thats a crime. UPDATE: If you want to play your disk games on PS5 Pro, say goodbye to your hard-earned money because the disk drive add-on is $80. Want a vertical stand? $30.
The thing that really concerns me is that in the beginning, likes were greater than dislikes, when I discovered the video it was like neck and neck in the like/dislike comparison, something like 80k/80k. Since then likes have gone up like 16k and dislikes have gone up 116k. How did it start out so even then just explode with dislikes. We should of had a similar ratio the whole time. So did Sony pay for likes in the beginning or are they getting dislike slammed? My personal opinion is that they paid for likes as the feeling across the board from everyone has been negative overall, almost unanimously...
@Trigger200284 Sony and big corps hire bots to hype or put a positive spin on their products. Ubisoft and disney does this a lot. One word gets out, the real opinion outweighs the positive botters.
Sir, I am not paying $700 for that. I feel like a kid that was excited about something, and now that excitement is like a balloon that kissed a powerline.
@@teneesh3376 $700 for the high graphics on 120 FPS would've been more enticing. you can get a computer for like $500 that can run those games on 60 fps
Planning to quit PS related products directly, $700? Are you serious? Do you dare to sell semi-finished products at this price? I really admire Sony's courage
45% uplift in rasterization and 2-3x uplift in RT is barely noticeable for you? LOL Also: the best GPU in 2010 costed 500$. The best GPU in 2024 is 2000$. I'm writing this so you could educate yourself and retract this unreasonable comment, unless you care about the truth of course.
@@Amsztel +45% but you have to define what is the base quantity. It makes no sense what they've done. It looks the same and almost for double the cost.
@@diligaf1000 And the rest... I have a 4070 which is about £500 and 1440p with DLSS (for those PS5 gamers that's what nVidia call PSSR - it's been around since like 2018) and Ray Tracing and it's rare to find a game that plays under 120fps. Also bear in mind that I'm running an i5 from 2017 and 16GB RAM, so not exactly killer specs outside the GPU.
@@goatman86 I am sorry to be that guy, but even those handful of games look like something that would run on ps 4 without problems. This gen is a disaster.
if you’re dissatisfied VOICE IT, you as a consumer have so much power. you changed the sonic movie, changed ps plus games multiple times, changed starbucks revenue. VOICE IT!!
Oh…it’s gonna happen… Check out these comments. Haha… I’ve been searching for ONE positive comment and can’t find one. This is a DOA release unless they do something to calm the fury.
@fabianramirez7807 That's what I'm saying. It's literally gonna be here in max 4 years. £700 is sort of understandable if this was the next gen console which will be new for like 8 years. The fact this is just a mid-gen release to kill time for the ps6 and they charge that...
I was hoping with PS3 emulation rumours that it would have a disc drive and he'd be all like "It plays every PlayStation game ever made!", would have made the price easier to justify, but nope.
@@talibong9518 Yeah I don't want to be that guy, but it looks like Microsoft is still the only one supporting back compat to the extend of allowing old disc's in the new console. I really hope they keep that for the next Xbox.
@@weirdpuppet326 That's you projecting. I manage my money very well to where I can burn a quick thousand without feeling some type of way. Focus on your income if you're so worried about material prices
Back in 2016 PS4 Pro open price was only 399$ and sold completely. Then now they sell PS5 Pro for 700$ with no disc drive and vertical stand, it's ridiculous 😂😂😂
To be fair I honestly felt a little grifted by the ps4 pro. Would've paid a little extra to get more than some games near 4k and a few 45 fps performance modes.
@@funkrobot9762 Yes, government are being greedy and printing a lot of money, so it devaluates. 399 USD in 2016 would be the equivalent to today as 522,91 USD. It is still bellow 700 USD, tho.
Sony got this one wrong. £700 for a console without a stand or disk drive is NUTS! Devs haven’t even hit the limits of what the base PS5 can do let alone a PRO version. How many PS5 games have actually pushed the bar ? Returnal maybe and a few others but the rest and basically PS4 games with a better resolution and frame rate.
Seriously? Are you worried about the inability to place the console horizontally and the lack of a disk drive? HELLO, FOR 800 BUCKS THEY ARE SELLING YOU A COMPUTER WITH A 300 DOLLARS PRODUCTIVITY, FOR WHICH THERE ARE NO GAMES.
Greed will kill Sony itself. Yes, it's a big part of the gaming industry, but it isn't the only part. It's the right time for save some money and build a gaming pc.
Slight? 45% better performance as stated and if the image reconstruction is impressive, that will be priceless considering how pathetic 3rd party games have become running at freaking 720p. Then there's the mystery of the official blog stating the Pro will increase the resolution on PS4 games. That's a literal game changer in itself.
“Vertical stand sold separately”, my brother in Christ you are charging 700 US dollars, I think you can afford to include a circular piece of plastic with the console.
@@night_fiend6 You're already wrong buying this "console". And don't come with the slave bugmen mentality of "You don't need to buy if you don't want". This kind of "thinking" is the reason why everything is turning to cr4p.
800 euros in Europe, with no disc drive and vertical stand... They're basically asking us to pay 1000$ for PS5 Pro in Europe. Sony has completely lost their mind.
I really don’t see the need for a console anymore. With a $1000 PC i get steam, emulators, work, study, entertainment. And they are releasing Sony games on PC at some point. The only thing they had was physical games and cheaper entry level. 😂
in order for scalpers to jump in there would have to be a demand for the product.... I am predicting that the ps5 pro will be stuck on the store shelves until it goes down in price to 500$
As someone who has been with Sony since 9/9/95, this is incredibly shameful and disrespectful. I hope you heard that collective groan. The raise of the PSN price, the raising of game prices, raising of controller price, now this. What a slap in the face. I'm still on PS4 and the only reason why I'll jump (maybe) is because of GTA6. This is obscene. And for those of us who remember the PS3 launch price debacle, that has nothing on this. Just gross. Mark should be ashamed to be a "lead architect" on this. It's too bad Sony "won" the last console generation. They really called it in on this one with no games and effectively killing this generation of gaming. I'm ready for a video game market crash part 2..Sony is leading the charge.
Speaking facts man, I switched to pc durning Covid and I’ve been waiting to get a console for gta 6 but after seeing this I don’t even want a PlayStation anymore. I’ll either borrow my brothers or just wait for the pc port
same, i'm still on ps4 pro and was waiting for this to make the jump to get ready for MH Wilds and GTA VI (while playing those PS5 only games i've been claiming from my PS+ Essential) but lately i've been thinking of getting a PC instead, especially after seeing the price. yes PC costs a lot more but it does a lot more as well
If I were you, I'd just wait for the PC port. No game on the PS5, especially GTA 6, is worth buying the console. As soon as you give in, you'll justify paying more money for a broken platform. FOMO is not problem if you don't allow it to be and time flies, so before you know it the PC port will be out. I mean, we've waited 11 years now for GTA 6 so what's one or two more years (not justifying Rockstar's corporate decisions to delay the PC port, just saying patience is a virtue).
- Too expensive - Not enough games - Stand sold separately - Disc drive sold separately - Still no Bloodborne ps5 patch or Bloodborne 2 Great job Sony.
If they're willing to charge this much for a mid gen refresh that removes the disc drive, I can't even imagine what they are going to charge for ps6. For the sake of the future of gaming, I hope this tanks HARD.
No disc drive. Not even as add on. Physical copies will stop to be produced. PS6 Pro will introduce the Playstation GameGallery (PS GG) where you only "subscribe" to the service and the games no longer belong to you. Resolutions and Graphic modes hidden behind paywalls. With Premium you get 8k 240Hz and base subscription is 1080p with 60fps. (edit: WITH ADS)
Be glad that usd is always cheaper. Converted to usd the price for Europe is 890$ just for the console. But no matter what they are smoking some insane stuff at Sony.
@Scoring57 one of Sonys blogs says youd have to buy the already available disc drive so most are assuming the ps5 slim disc drive youll have to buy separately since they mention it as a separate product.
PS6 in 2027: $899 Same 4K resolution No disk drive No stand Controller and cables sold separately No new games. PS5 games ported to PS6 “Greed has no limits”
@@birthd-y Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart, Spiderman 2, Horizon Forbidden West DLC, Astrobot, to name a few. Even the games that are PS4 ports usually have some fairly large upgrades on PS5, a game doesn't have to be exclusive to not look and play far better on the newer hardware. I mean Horizon Forbidden West on PC doesn't feel remotely last-gen, but its also a huge step above PS5 when you can play at 120fps.
@@alexatkin yeah Bro but f*ck the graphics, if a game plays on PS4 it means it's old tech. We still have to see the power of the PS5 to hold more complex games.
That's how you know they're not thinking at all- almost half of the new games released fir this generation were made to be backwards compatible with the ps4. If a ps4 can play the newest games, then so can a ps5, and what reason is there to get a pro version?

I don’t understood the management of this generation tho? PlayStation made a huge success with the PS4 and now it feels like they’re sinking with the PS5. It’s all about money now. There’s no appreciation for the consumer. You would think they have learned their lesson with the awful generation of the PS3. They did a huge leap with PS4…but the PS5 really feels like a major loss.
The fact that this could potentially be $1,200-$1,500 where I live is just borderline atrocious Should've clarified that I live in New Zealand. Sorry for any confusion
This would have been the perfect time to announce a bloodborne remaster and they didn’t even take advantage of that 😂🤣 Sony can’t stop taking Ls this generation
300 bucks more, minus a disk drive or a stand is absolute madness, there's absolutely no way that you couldn't make it €600 digital or €650 with disc drive
Do you realize that the main reason people buy consoles is that gaming PC's are too expensive? With prices like these you might aswell buy a PC instead.
exactly. having a console also meant that I have access to physical games. I'd just buy on Steam if there was no way for me to use my discs. everything else is better on PC
