PSA to grade and sell, since they have reputation. CGC to grade and keep, if you love to collect. BGS to grade very high costly pristine cards.

@@jerryaksonelam2021 I am new to the Hobby, so all I can say is from an outsiders perspective the Label looks clearer. CGC still grades in .5 increments though right? I've 8.5's and 9.5's and it seems like it's difficult to get 10's and prestine 10's. It's hard to say but it looks like to me CGC is going to be where new investors are go.

Cgc grades super hard. I have a Japanese holo pichu from neo genesis it's an 8.5 chc easily a 9 or 10 at PSA

It can only be a good thing for the collecting world that there are multiple top-level grading companies competing against each other, otherwise standards will drop, however despite this, ultimately PSA will continue to be the forefront of collectors minds when they choose the destination of their cards because of the status that comes with that brand. Hopefully over time that will change.

Literally none of that matters when PSA resale value is much higher than any other company so everyone simply goes PSA... The users are to blame for the shit quality not the companies because the users are the ones who make that dynamic...

Since watching your videos, I’ve been really thinking of getting some of my own cards graded. PSA would still be my #1 choice because of value and whatnot, but what makes me hesitant is the label. It looks so messy and unappealing. It took me awhile to actually understand how it’s written. It really needs an update, IMO. I never heard of CGC till just now and dang! The case and label look so good! I’d like to display my top few favorite cards outside from a binder and their casing is perfect for it. If CGC’s value was on par with PSA, I would instantly go with them. Such a tough choice. But still, awesome video as usual. Love that intro/outro music too.

I am really having trouble digging CGC slabs, they do feel nice but their label isn’t aesthetically pleasing to me for some reason. PSA and BGS are the top two companies, but I do want to look for another alternative for the personal collection and just focus on selling PSA/BGS. Great insight though, thank you for making this video.

Thanks! That was very thought provoking and interesting. I've only bought graded cards that were PSA or CGC. But I don't think I will buy from Beckett even though the most expensive pokemon cards are graded by them, I agree they need to improve on alot of things.

BGS slab is my fav. PSA grading standard is probably my fav because the low grades are way better usually in my experience. CGC has a nice slab when looking at the card itself, but the label I find clashes with too many cards for sure.

I have a stack of GX era ulti’s and GFP2 Ghost rares I’ve been sitting on for almost a year now. I keep bouncing back and forth between PSA and CGC. To be clear, I *want* to send them to CGC, but what’s keeping me from doing so is liquidity. If I ever need to get out of these cards, I know the market is fully liquid for PSA graded cards. To what you said at 14:15, I think if the community starts grading more and more yugioh with CGC, we can slowly build that secondary market up for all the resale. I absolutely love how my CGC graded cards display, you’re 100% correct about that acrylic they use

I have a ghost rare 1st ed Odin and i'm pretty sure it'd grade at a 10, 9 at worst, but i'm too scared to submit it to PSA because of what you mentioned with the cases and potentially damaging it.

from what I know you can choose the design of the label in cgc. Especially with pokemon cards, you can select a color and design that matches the pokemon itself.

There's a new Grading Company based in Japan called ARS worth looking into they got the most premium looking slab I've seen, they use an aluminum plate for their labels. The only thing is that the label is on the bottom of the slab which takes time to get use to and they are Japan only for now.

I've just got the first Pristine 10 starlight Dragoon in the world with CGC. I would never trade it over a PSA 10.

I prefer Beckett because Beckett slabs are far better quality than CGC and PSA and when it comes to card grading slabs quality is one of the most important things and the problem with PSA is that their slabs are cheaply made and I can’t handle cheaply made slabs.

They should come together CGC brings the Acrylic cases BGS brings their fancy gold labels and PSA handles customer support the website and smacks the other two when they try grading garbage. and they need to have specialists. The guy the does Pokémon cards Knows everything about Pokémon cards. The MTG guy Specializes in MTG cards. the sports with their own people baseball basketball football etc. Your not going to have the guy that does sports and is clueless to MTG cards grade a mtg card.

I met a collector in a card shop that said the same things about those cases. He compared each and took them out from his display. He did mention that CGC does have premium anti UV protection in there cases and that is why you see it being different and better quality than the others. I also have some acrylic cases that have UV protection and they have similar texture in the acrylic. What do you think about PSA buying WATA games?Does that make PSA a bigger company since they grade games too now?

I agree about the CGC blue label. I was unaware the others graded fakes, part of the appeal of graded cards is I thought they authenticate the card. I would like to hear your comments about SGC. I like SGC cases but will need to a get CGC to compare.

CGC doesn't grade fakes per say but they do grade unauthorized cards. I definitely think CGC is a step above BGS when it comes to strictness of grading that's for sure, it would be PSA>CGC>BGS. BGS will actually grade anything lol not exaggerating. Thanks for viewing the videos.

I agree with your takes on PSA/BGS ux. I really like the idea of CGC with their high quality slabs and subgrades, but I just can't stand their labels. I don't like the colors and layout of the text, plus the grade being on the left just throws me off. I'm personally intrigued with AI grading and am trying it on some lower end stuff with a newer company to see how it goes. Nice video Omar!

Grading shouldn't even exist. Encasing should be as far as it goes. We all have eyes...I can be smart enough on my own to discern a perfect card from a shit card...and therefore pay accordingly. C'mon y'all...WE GOT THIS!! #changethegame

10:56 BGS is not like this. I submitted a CR toon black luster soldier in 2022 completely online. The slab came back cracked around the grade they gave me, I emailed them, and they recased it for free within a week.

hello striclysealed, Since the day I saw your collection videos. I kinda want to have my own collection too. Though I cannot afford the higher end stuff. I'm going to start with cards that really screams nostalgia for me which is yugi's monsters. So I'm planning to buy the memories of the duel king 15th anniversary set korean version. It's cheap and has card sleeves in it, so I'm starting with those.

I love cgc.. I have graded over 200 cards and non came back with any sort of smear/finger print/dust etc inside the case. I have some card graded from psa and it came back dirty to the point that I have to regrade the card

I have a rather large submission to send and i've been holding off. I really want to Use CGC but have been reluctant. I've used PSA in the past and liked the service, but now a days it's so dang pricey and the turn around times are absolutely horrendous. Should I use CGC?

Like Omar commented on the video to me psa is a great company but if i slab a card i want to protect it and show it off psa and cgc slabs seem to bland for me and for the times. With BGS you have a clear cut slab with gold or metal show off finish. I do agree there submissions definitely need improvement but in terms of protection, overall feel and look BGS runs it out of the park for me. One thing you forgot thou are pristine 10's and SGC tuxedo service would love your input on those in the yugioh space.

You should have a watch out on PCG - Premier Card Grading from New Zealand. They also have locations in Australia and the US. They are popular in Flesh and Blood and even have a lot of people grading Magic and Pokemon even if they are quite young. They have an official partnership with Flesh and Blood, grading their prize cards. And they have something in the works, to providing custom slabs for Yugioh cards :)

PSA presents better to me but i can see the appeal of CGC. It would be cool if they could include an elemental colored label or pokemon type colour for the label would look wild. Seen a small company called paradise do that and it looks mint.

I personally enjoy grading with CGC for the reasons you mentioned that makes CGC a good candidate, but as far as a myself being a newcomer to grading cards, something that I had noticed when looking at PSA is that there was the language of having a "weak 10" or a "strong 10" that's something that I don't like. Ideally if I have a "10" in my collection I want it to be considered a perfect card, not a near perfect card because at that point the meaning of a 10 loses value. This is why I like CGC and BGS, but as far as BGS I really don't like the look of the case because no matter the label the aesthetic looks antiquated. CGC is the happy middle ground for me.

As collector, i prefer cgc, even new label looks great, psa look so bad, i never bought any of them.. also not sent for grading. Bg is nice too, case maybe little too old looking and cant see that well thru.. Grading times too long, but grading is well done.

I got a Beckett 10 and it literally had dust/dirt all over the inside. I contacted them to get a new slab. Was told I’d have to pay a fee to recase, shipping cost, and insurance for graded card. And was never given a guarantee that the new slab would be dirt free. How are you going to give a card a 10 and put it in a case with dirt inside? I will never get a Beckett card or send a card to Beckett ever. Not to mention the awful ripples on the penny sleeves for Beckett’s!

I love CGC slabs with subgrades. Most accurate grading and better detail. I think psa is kinda too generous giving a higher grade. I own some psa 10 and i feel it should of been a 9... but i think its cool if u want a easy 10 for cheaper. Cgc 10 with perfect subgrades worth alot. Ace grading is a new one with accurate grading like CGC, but there are no subgrades.

Cgc case looks the best and I agree the becket gold/black label is the best. How psa is the top tier with the flimsy crappy case and labels with half spelt names is beyond me. Cgc could take a huge leap and take over both companies because of how they are a trusted name in grading comics and the slab looks and fells really good.

Ok Question : The Modern Products nowadays always come with flaws sadly , you are lucky if you pull a Mint card at this point . My question is … if the card has this Manufactured scruff in the back is it still considered NM ?

Yes it is. Lots of pack fresh cards have that stuff on the back from the factory and as long as its not super bad the card can still be NM. Certainly!

Bgs all the way. The slabs r clear enough and provide the best protection. They feel amazing in hand and fetch the higher premium for their 10s both gold and black label.

I would disagree with CGC grading everything. They found 2 cards I submitted (I didn't know they were fake) They returned both cards and only charged me $5 a card. Just my experience.
