I wish I could do something to support him, but I can't. I feel so powerless. Also, I'm sad that people who do so amazing things, make so many people smile and bring characters to life, are so little paid. They go through so many repetitions, so much work, and this is all they get? But, even with that, they still continue. I hope everything is going to be alright with Kouki, and with everyone from every stage play. These people deserve all the stars from the sky. Thanks for making this video!
I badly wanna watch the plays live, but I still have school and I live in another country. I wanna buy the dvds and merch, but neither me nor my parents own credit cards. DAMN IT CAN SOMEONE BUY THEIR STUFF FOR ME THEN I'LL PAY U AFTERWARDS 😭😭
I hope Kouki is doing better now!! but i also agree with you. If people want to watch it they should support the production by buying DVD online. If i could i would, but i barely have any money. (and the prices for the DVD's are uhh, too much for me thanks ;v;) i honestly don't mind just watching your crack/commentary of the play. i don't think i could have watched the entire play without the English subtitles.
I agree. I know that they are no Eng. subs available going in these dvds (as I am already following various 2.5D productions for a while) yet it is worth it to get the original dvds and cds anyway not only to show international support for these productions (and the actors along the way) but you also get additional materials (backstage, full stage view etc). I was also lucky enough to receive an exclusive Haikyuu Engeki calender by buying from Animate International. Perhaps with the increase of international purchase, these productions would realise that these plays are popular outside of Japan and eventually we will get that English subs added in. Hopefully one day soon. :) p/s: I hope Kouki gets well soon too.
It’ll cost me so much money but now I want to definitely support them even more! I really do hope Kouki recovers well and I wish the best for his well-being.
Oh no that is sad :( I am going to the new play in Tokyo in June! So excited! I just got some merch of the past play with Aoba Josai in the mail! I will definately be buying some more when I visit! So glad they made an English card accepting website! :D
a year late but, i wish i could be able to support them more:( i really want to buy the dvd, but if it doesn’t have subtitles i won’t be able to understand anything. i feel so powerless rn and i’m so sorry for the actors
I hope they can add English sub for the DVD at the request of foreign fans Maybe it will cost a little bit money Plan B.. Learn the nihongo you baka!! 😂😂 Plus earn money to buy the legal one
I would buy all the stageplays in a heartbeat (even though they are a bit pricey) to support these boys, but I heard that I wouldn't be able to play it on my DVD player in the US because of a region lock on Japanese discs. Can someone confirm or deny if this is true? Even though I wouldn't be able to understand it, I'm willing to buy them, but if I can't even play them? Not worth it unfortunately :(
Thing is, us paying for the DVD doesn't DIRECTLY affect the actor's wages, which were predetermined by the production company. Of course I respect the actors so much for all the effort they put into these monstrous productions, but we have to understand that when we support the productions, we support the system in which the productions are made, and that system is responsible for the working conditions of the actors and crew. It's a more nuanced issue than you've implied! But clearly other people are being less rational than you, so good job sorting them out :). Also, non-Japanese speakers shouldn't feel pressured to buy the DVD if there aren't any subtitles, at least at first! It should be acceptable for them to seek out alternative methods of watching it, where subtitles are easier to integrate or already are integrated. Then, after that, if they want to support it, they can!
As much as I want to write to Kouki, I can't send it because I live far from the capital city of Indonesia, and tumblr is currently blocked in my country *sighs*, so I'll just send prayers for him T_T and good luck to Takumi
Um no, that is just a character design of Bokuto The actor himself was injured a few months after this play happened and a month before the next play started
