based on my glance and overview (what i could see anyways) most of the 9's and 8's were badly offcenter. cards without the symmetrical borders are harder to view, like this years optic. my suggestion is to look at multiple different tens to get a understanding what they call perfect centering. hope this clears it up, nice cards!

Note how you only got 10’s on the lower value qbs and non-qb cards. It’s a scam. I guarantee the condition of all those cards you submitted is consistent across the board yet only the lower value positions gem’d out. We gotta stop using psa collectively

PSA seems sketch when they do a "special" or large orders or when a certain player is killing it their gem rate drops.I also wonder if they grade certain cards low and anticipate the card getting re-subbed?With no sub grades or an explanation its a guessing game.Either way nice cards Sky,keep up the good work bro!!

That Garrett Wilson is way off center on front and on back. They'll pull it down to an 8 for centering alone if its bad enough.

I have the Garrett Wilson, Prizm, black 10 and I just traded the sauce rookie auto PSA 10 and I got the Lawrence checkerboard Beckett 10

Sorry for those grades bro! Unfortunately, the hobby keeps PSA on top. When I first started looking into grading I read about how PSA was the best. I slowly bought into the hype myself. Before that, I always felt BGS did a good, consistent job. I've tried SGC, CSG, and HGA. My top choice goes to CSG; nice design and crystal clear case, but the hobby don't want to believe that there are better graders than PSA. Also, it seems that the graders are always eating while grading which leads to specs of whatever sitting inside our graded case; and that's across the board with all graders. We can only hope they are not snacking when we send in our 1/1 Justin Herbert RC.

Slow turn around times and definitely tougher grading. Plus the poor market for 9s definitely makes you think long and hard about what to submit these days. Unfortunate.

At least your submission went better than mine. I sent in 20 cards for dual grading (auto and card) for 520 dollars of submission fees. I waited 90 days for it, and guess what I got? All 20 cards with auto grades but ZERO card grades (they authenticated it instead). Waited three hours to call PSA and they confirmed it was a mistake, so now I have to send it back to them and restart another lengthy process.

I know PSA has the "reputation" but you should really try grading with TAG.. Their value is on the rise and I love how they provide you a report of why your card got it's grade. Still don't understand how PSA do not provide any info on the cards flaws. In all, TAG is awesome.

Grading is so overrated I’d rather buy raw cards, to each his own, it’s another expensive scam and if the player never wins a sb and you buy that graded card at a high price, you prob won’t get your money back

Im 100% sure if that Trevor Lawrence had the 2 dings or debris out the box you wouldnt have sent it in. All they do is damage cards so you won't be able to crack and resubmit. For a Halloween morning upload I must say it was a bit of a horror from PSA. Any Purdy 9 can easily get resubmitted tho because those all looked too clean to be a 9 😅

How does everyone like SGC for pc? I have a lot of 90's basketball and new football cards I want to get graded. I like the black look of their slabs and the short turnaround time. I just bought a green Mosaic Breece Hall to see if I like the slabs.

PSA has been tough on ultra-modern cards. I got a 5 on a Garrett Wilson Prizm throwback RC. I’m keeping it slabbed just to have proof of PSA being inconsistent with their grades.

i just sent in my first ever card from this anime weiss schwarz set and the card ungraded is worth 100 but 300 if its a 10. I know for a fact its not below a 9 so If i get your grader ima be pissed.

Man that was a lot of 9s that grader gave your cards! I wish that they would noted on the paperwork why the grades were given if they didn’t get a 10. I get sometimes we miss something but those were a lot of misses and I know you check your cards really good. I recently got two submissions back, one of 11 cards submitted got 7 10s and the other of 31 cards submitted only got 15 10s . Just never know with these graders 🤷🏽‍♂️. Thanks for sharing as always

Next time, send that submission in with a pack of Skittles and a nice written note. It might warm em up a bit, so they are not so dang cold on the grades. Also was told to value the cards as if they were a 10 when submitting.

Yo-Yo Ma "Never say Never" PSA is going to bust you up. You sub Ultra Modern....you should be seeing all 10's. Try subbing 1980-2011 you will really get busted up. Nat Turner is almost 4 letter word or he should be. Ever since he and his group bought PSA you hardly see very many 10's. POP control so him and his pals collection doesn't suffer. It's F-ing ridiculous!!! I'm total spoked on subbing again with PSA (Processional Stupid Ass's).

You averaged an 8.5 on your 4 thick cards. I just sent 6 thick cards and a crown royale die cut to sgc. I averaged an 8.8 on my 6 thick bois. Doesn't make sense to grade thick cards with PSA. The only advantage to PSA is the resale premium you get for a 10. Thick cards aren't getting a 10 anyway so I go with SGC for the low price and quick turnaround.

I got a 9 on Ohtani Supernova Black Eclipse numbered 10 of 10. I was praying for a third 10. It's pop 1 but it's perfect. Then only thing I could see is that it's got a asymmetrical border and the letter box on the back may be at like a 91 degree angle. But it's like come on man. I paid for express 10 day, and it still took 2 weeks.

I think I had the same grader for my submission I received today 😅 Some sure 10s were 7 or 8 wtf?! What will you do with your low grades? Crack and resubmit or sell and take the loss? I’m not a pro grader and I wear glasses 🤓 but surely my eyes aren’t that bad. 🤦🏻‍♂️ We’ll get ‘em next time 💪

Nice grades and cards good submission! Every card aint a 10 like women some are 9s and 8s but since raw prices are the same or higher than both because of delusional sellers who dont auction cards and let the market decide the price but rather price cards with hype and speculation this is the market sentiment🤷 9s and 8s have value but the gap is which is artificial is so vast. I can live with a PSA 8 but a SGC 8 or CGC 8 hell to da naw😂😂😂😂

Yeah I've always believed psa needs to justify a grade with explanations on each item. It's highway robbery. Too much money to keep fingers crossed just to make a little extra when reselling. I at least respect FCG and BGS for the explanation on the end grade result.

Card grading is a joke. How you can tell is that they charge you more if YOU have a great card. AFTER its already graded THEN you get charged more because you have a great card. BS. Miss when having the card was what you needed.

Won't lie that was painful to watch. Grading in general will always be hit and miss. New grader vs old grader...hung over grader vs bright grader...grader that cares vs grader that hates job. If I did grade my stuff I think I would limit it to high value absolute perfect cards. Understand i hate grading companies in general for up charging people just cause market value is high. Not like they did any extra work. But I truly thank you for these videos showing up and downs of the hobby.

stopped grading with PSA about 6 months ago. focused on Vintage. Imagine a world where anything above a 1 is exciting. Well thats SGC and vintage. plus i get them back in 2 weeks so I can get them listed and have them out at shows. not simping, just facts

PSA is nothing but control. If you are in the network you get 10s on big cards. If you arent they give you 10s on lesser cards. Why they dont get my money and have seen so many modern PSA 10s that arent 10s its sickening. I bought a PSA Burrow Optic 10 and when I got it the card should be a 8 at best. There are surface issues galore with a rough edge.

Hey man. That red and black checkered looked to have a bent corner on front. Top right but that could have just been a glare from the camera. PSA could have really messed your card up and graded it as so. I try to take pics before I send them to PSA to cover myself in case they try and pull some shit cause they have no mercy and will mess your card up and won’t say anything. Sorry about this submission man. Some of those 9s should have been 10s!

Stop the PSA roulette. But don’t worry if they do give you a 10 they often want to increase that fee. Take their cut lolllll. TAG for the win. No other slab does what they do and by far the most pleasing to look at. Get on the right side of grading history. PSA is a hype joke.

I know you get top return in money for PSA, but I don't trust them at all. I really hate how grading is done and there is never any explanation on why the cards receive the grade they do. It is what keeps me from grading cards. I've only graded a few, and mostly with SGC.

I love PSA slabs but there graders clearly take personal issues into there workspace. I have seen so many mint cards with sharp edges and 0 surface issues come back as 8s and 9s . Really they would break down the grades like literally every other grading company

If to many get graded 10's they start giving out 9's or worse so they do not blow the pop report out of balance. If I send 20 cards of the same thing in they send me back 10-9's and 10-10's and they all look the same in grade before I send them. I have known this since the early 2000's. I sent 3 of the same card this last time and got a 10,9,8 of the same card and all were clean and nothing wrong with anyone of them. I still send in cards to them but usually 1 of each and only 20 cards or so total in each order. Still get screwed over in grades and I take the time to clean each card with a cloth so that they are clean. I think they change out cards to bad cards so the best cards get saved and sent to the big companies or people who expect 10's to sell and we get the shaft! I mean that to the fullest extent when I say that. If they lose the biggest companies sending in large quantities of cards they will be out of business.

Lawrence red checkboard is really off centered left to right and top right corner maybe. So 8 is probably correct I would think. But other cards seemed like they should have been a 10 and weren’t.

I agree 100%. Smaller cards got 10's. All your tie dyes with no disrespect got 10's but all looked off left to right. And they were all non descript players!

Man that’s rough I just recently got back Trevor and purdys prizm base and got the exact same grades as u. When submitting bases even of the top guys u need those 10s. My last order had the same trend getting 9s on the bigger cards but 10s on my no name zebras

It's not wise sending that many cards at one time to PSA. To be honest, it's best to do it in person. If they are vintage or key cards good luck getting a 10 they pop control the shit out of vintage cards modern cards are the only hope of getting 10's

I wouldn't have even sent in many of those cards simply due to how bad the centering is. Centering in the first thing to consider when picking cards to send in. Pick better cards get better grades

Do you prep your cards and inspect with loupe? You should know ahead of time if a card isn’t getting a 10…

Some tough grades, but a lot of those you are pretty much losing money on unless it's a 10 - which, should not be expected.
