+Kyle Nguyen Go rewatch the first episode 1 of season 1. Grif specifically says that he signed up to the military to kill aliens, but after the Master Chief defeated the aliens, he was sent to blood gulch.

Spaghetti the TenTac I'm pretty sure that line was ret conned in another season.... I'll have to dig up the info later. Although, I do remember that line in Season 1 and thought it was hilarious.

I know this is before season 17 came out, but that was retconned in the last episode of that season.

In season 17 he reveals he enlisted because he needed more structure in his life

Drift was not drafted so sayeth season 17 episode I don't know. All I know is it had something to do with the labyrinth
