Buyers market. So I believe we should be watching out for who is the number two grader that can become our new number one? Also, I bought some used graded cards which come with some scratches from use. I wanted to re-case some of them. They are all PSA, should I re case with another company? Cause like you said the slab should also look impeccable. Thanks Tom New subscriber here.
I agree it's a quality issue, but PSA feels that they're so big and dominant that they won't admit they have screwed up. They should take the high road, admit it and make good on it.
I think that PSA should re-holder all the cards. It’s not right to have to pay to have a card graded, pay shipping fees, and be provided a low quality holder. The flow lines excuse is not a good marketing call IMO..
I think it's ridiculous that supposedly years of upgrading the slab, that the "new standard" would have so many slabs with these markings in the plastic. PSA needs to correct this ASAP and do all they can to re-slab any and all with this problem. How on earth did they not ever catch this problem before going forward with it? And if they did know about it and thought the collectors wouldn't care, that's perhaps an even a bigger concern.
@@thehighvibe5528Flippers don't want AI grading .... They want 10's to flip and anything else is a failure. Follow the $$. For collectors ..... TalAG may be a nice solution.....not for resale or flipperoos.
Thank you for letting me know about this issue with cracks in the plastic with PSA. I was about to send baseball cards to get graded by PSA, and now I am delaying getting my cards graded until this problem gets solved by PSA. You would think PSA would be a lot more professional than just telling customers, who have cracks in the plastic after submitting their cards to PSA, "Too bad, you are out of luck."
Wonder if it took PSA 3 yrs to airbrush that out. Just make a slab that can’t be cracked, change the color of the label and make the grades available for review.
Thanks for the info. I have about 30 cards ready to go for PSA. Probably going to hold off until get further info from PSA. Can't sell defected slab at a show.
This is a problem. I submit to PSA and it’s not cheap and have no issue up charging. I don’t want flaws in my slabs. The materials are the cheapest part of the equation. They need to be flawless.
Agreed on the appearance issue on new PSA slabs being an issue. I would rather have an older PSA slab and slab mag protection on top of old PSA slabs than the new PSA slabs. I hope PSA fixes the appearance issue soon.
I just got an order back last week (20 cards). About 5 have the inner crack. I actually noticed it pretty immediately. I think an important factor is where the cracks are. It’s not like it is somewhere on an outside corner. It’s directly over top of the card. I mean, there shouldn’t be any hairline cracks anywhere. But for it to be over top of the card is extra bad.
I've been consistently sending in 2-3 submissions a month and noticed this "illusion" on several cards each order as they slowly rolled out their new slabs in the recent months and really didn't think much about it but noticed them immediately. Obviously once they make this new slab change permanent in the future and the uptick of slabs having this "illusion" should immediately draw cause for concern as a buyer beware issue.
I bought some PennySleevers supplies just to check out the quality. They're OK, they're fine. But so are my supplies made by other companies such as Vault X. I do receive janky, ill-fitting sleeves when I buy cards online, but I promptly replace them with my own sleeves. PennySleevers are good, about the same as other well-fitting products. That's as enthusiastic as I get without being paid. 😂 Hey Vault X, are you listening?
Great analogy with the picture frame. They definitely need to make it right with every slab that went out the door like that and figure out the issue asap. Good to hear Nat replied!
It’s embarrassing. Just got an 18 card order and 15-16 of the slabs have the flow line. Not submitting again until they fix it. Had another slab damaged and another that got a PSA 10 and the inside of the slab or card has scuffs all across the top.
@@JunkWaxHero ya, it’s a visual media and has to be enjoyed without cracks in front of the card. I’m not a complainer at all, but that is just unacceptable.
Now something else to look for in a listing… PSA IDs in the +90000000s in the 1LR+ slabs. I recently purchased a card in one, without paying attention to the indicators. Luckily it’s a bowman sapphire card so the “flow” looks like it’s part of the cracked ice/atomic effect of the card. Way to go PSA 😂.
Oh don't you all know?....THIS is the way to tell a REAL slab versus a FAKED Chinese slab...... It's a security and authenticity indicator. I worked at a company once where they had to create software. The customers would complain about the software. The company used to tell them, "Oh...that's NOT a problem....THAT'S A FEATURE." True story...
People love to shit on PSA (I don't personally have an opinion other than it's bad that they're essentially a monopoly), but it's refreshing to see Turner responding to your questions.
I have an order from PSA on it's way back in the mail. I looked at the uploaded images they took, in those the slabs look fine. I'll look at them when they arrive.
The consistent problem + inconsistent feedback from PSA is a bad look. It makes PSA's customer service reps seem like they're either just guessing or that they're (worst case) being disingenuous. To respond to customers like it's normal and we should just accept it, is unacceptable. It's gaslighting (I hate that term, but it's accurate). I trust Nat when he says they'll do something about it.
@@JunkWaxHeroI realized I didn't answer your original question. PSA should pay reholder, shipping, & insurance costs for ANY card within 30 days of receipt. (within reason)
This is certainly something they should have caught at the pilot scale. This is what I do for a living take prototypes or lab scale processes and do testing in order to head off potential problems before large scale production.
I have two submissions in at PSA, vintage and modern. If I receive any slabs with these defects and PSA doesn’t make it right, I’m done with them. I’m not the biggest fan of SCG slabs but you have to vote with your money. Just sux that now if I do go with SCG, Collectors gets that as well. Unbelievable!
I remember when Coke changed their formula back in the 80’s. 🤔🙄 (Can’t wait to see how your cards look when they come back. I know you are going to share with us.)
“Best in class debut… total clarity…. no illusions… over three years of prototyping… just facts…”. It appears that Ryan Hoge never involved himself in the beta review, and that the person who wrote his script just wanted to embarrass him! This is a big deal bc it’s all about the visual attractiveness of the card and this flaw certainly causes uncertainty.
So I watched this video yesterday and had more than enough time to think about it. This is an embarrassment for PSA. It’s bad enough their grading is inconsistent & strict (prob due to their card guarantee ) now the eye appeal of their new slabs can now also be inconsistent 🤦. Something tells me PSA decided to release the new slabs earlier than desired to combat “issues” mentioned in that recent fbi release
@@JunkWaxHero some believe PSA pushed up the new slab implementation to coincide w/ being mentioned in the FBI investigation. www.justice.gov/usao-sdny/pr/operators-nationwide-sports-and-pokemon-trading-card-fraud-arrested
"Badges?!?!.. we don't need no stinkin' badges!!!"(latest YT come on for subscribing)... good luck with the surgery... and always, always "put a bag on your slab"... seriously, it's always interesting to see what comes out of corporate customer service depts until 'approved responses' are cooked-up... thanks for holding PSA's feet to the fire!..
I also posted in that group. If you zoom in, you can see the the 'flaw' reflecting off of the card, so you know you it's not on the card. However, it doesn't bother me at all. I've received two orders back in the new slabs and I noticed it right away.
Great video alerting us to this flow line PSA slab issue. Unfortunately, I just got a nice Stadium Club SP in a PSA 10 I’ve been hunting. And yeah, it has a flow line. Not happy. I’m also sitting on 200 cards I was about to submit. I want to know this is fixed before half of them come back that way. Anything since Nat told you they were looking into it? Thanks.
@@JunkWaxHero thanks, that’s really a shame. Let’s hope it was a QC issue on some early batches. And it works itself out as we go. Maybe I’ll send in 25 or so and see what happens.
I’d say it’s a big deal. It’s always something with PSA. They blew it and are trying to spin it, pretty clearly, you wouldn’t need to be a PR person to tell that for sure haha. The CGC slabs are what PSA had to be concerned about, I would say; they’re great, no flaws, incredibly clear. CGC is also not going anywhere based on the nature of the whole organization’s depth in grading. If CGC invested in the brand, over time, they could chip away at marketshare. That’s maybe why SGC was purchased, to consolidate marketshare. I’m enthusiastic about CGC so I may be overstating, but if there were not a TRUE state of the art slab like CGC on the market, PSA would not have taken this step, IMHO.
@@JunkWaxHerothanks! I worked in brand marketing for a decade and a half and learned a lot about how much a market share leader brand is oriented around up and coming competitors and just see a lot of that market share orientation when it comes to “big moves” by the various brands.
Hi Mike. I have only been submitting cards to SGC. I hope they do not try to upgrade their slabs. You will have to do a video on the cards you submitted to PSA when they return.
Wow....I always knew this company was a piece of shit scam company..NOW, it's been verified. Thanks for the warning. I remember one dealer told me, "Oh...I NEVER send ANYTHING into PSA...I let all the other dolts do that....and THEN I buy their cards....." True story...
Total $hit, haha, you can’t roll out some new slab that has these issues and claim 3 years of development lol. I hope you are well and all goes well with the Doc!
@@JunkWaxHero Hope so. Like I said before... don't want the flippers to win lol. Mavs pressed the pause button on ''baby Jordan'' Ant Edwards. So, I consider that a W. The biggest surprise, in game 1, Kristaps Porzingis. Played like a man possessed. The thing about Boston, is they have multiple players, who can step up to win games on both ends of the court. And even though, it was just one game. They seem to match up well with Dallas. So, if Dallas loses this series. Luka and Kyrie's inefficiency on defense would be a big reason.
i once had a dale hawerchuk rookie o-pee-chee sticker psa 9 which sold for about 50 us and the guy sent it back because of the wet look and months later i see this newton rings stuff good luck trying to resell it should i explain about the newton rings in the description lol
@@tomharrison6607 I won a Shohei Ohtani giveaway from PSA a few months back, got the card and it had newton rings right in the middle of the slab, plus the slab was scratched to high hell, I was able to clean up the slab with plastix and found an Ohtani collector, I took about a $100-$125 loss because I really didn't want to eBay or auction it, I found a collector who knew about the Newton rings and we made an agreement, still sucks... But yeah.. I've personally never used PSA to grade and won't anytime soon.
Wait a minute so now in addition to upcharge extortion, and crappy customer service, we get a new made in China Dollar General level slab? Well sign me up😂 Sure glad I no longer grade at all.
I don't need some stoonad telling me this card is a good looking card or telling me that this great looking card isn't also good. bwahahahahahaha. You might as well be a judge for pairs ice skating in the Olympics.
never get my cards graded heard somany bad things about psa threw the years dont see why everyone is going to them I think its time to get that psa tramp stamp off youre backss and start grading some were else
