Fun fact: it's been 165 days since PD3 launched. Since launch, we've gotten: - Legacy Heists (Turbid [Murky] Station and Cook Off) - Syntax Error Bundle (and the Techie enemy) - Unready button 165 days after PD2 released, they had received: - Diamond Store Heist - Safehouse Nightmare Heist - Armored Transport Heists (4 Heists + secret (at the time) Train Heist) - Gage Weapon Pack 01 (which added grenades) - Charlie Santa Heist - Xmas Soundtrack - The Infamy Update (added up to Infamy V) and a week later, they got the Gage Weapon Pack 02, which added LMGs, melee weapons, and re-added the Cloaker from PD:TH I miss when the game looked worse and we got new content regularly. Even on the broke-ass Diesel Engine :(
when people say "pd2 had a bad start too", this is what I wanna show them pd2 was still doing good on playercounts and actually getting new stuff at a far better pace then pd3s miserable 5 months for a fkn unready button
@@najdzel_ Exactly. PD2 wasn't great at launch but the game was at least playable, got patches quickly, and started getting regular content only about 2 months after launch. (and had updates and/or DLC roughly once a month for the first 7-8 years)
to be fair, the dev team didnt take showers and slept in the building for a while during and after release. then again, with a way bigger budget and a better engine, there should have been more updates than pd2.
It's pretty sad how long I kept hoping that the game would eventually be fixed, but now that I started to play Helldivers 2, I don't even really care about Payday 3 anymore, it just feel so much better to play a game that actually feels finished and fun with devs actively working on the game instead of waiting months for the most basic features ever
Yeah i actually keep forgetting it exists entirely. I don't even expect it to get fixed, at the pace updates have been coming out, it would be 4 years before the game is in a fun state, and i do not expect they will stick with it that long
Payday 3 is the video game equivalent of that back yard wrestler who jumped from the top rope, landed on his feet, and bended his knees backwards like a chicken
I've never seen a comparison so apt that at the same time pisses me off for being reminded of it. Bravo, and fuck you. (if this gets through youtube's godawful censors ill be amazed)
Was just thinking how crazy of a difference Helldivers 2 and Payday 3 was in terms of how they handled it, despite having pretty similar issues at launch with their servers. Arrowhead seems to have taken it head on and was constantly talking about what was going on and able to stay ahead of it all, where as Starbreeze/Overkill seems to have just let it fall behind and simmer when it really needed attention. Funniest part is, you can't even use the Crossplay excuse either, since Helldivers 2 is as well.
My favorite part was when the devs said "We need an operation-medicbag" and then proceeded to Mojang all over Payday 3. Truly one of the game development companies of all time.
Seeing that article gave me ptsd, because Rainbow Six Siege also had a "Operation Health" where they fucked the immersive lighting and wrecked the roadmap for next seasons. We didn't get two GROM operators at the same time, we didn't get a polish operation and a polish map.
0:19 I require a full song now. At least Payday 2 is still playable and OVK (or Starbreeze) didn't add some "patches" that ruin the game, right? *RIGHT!?* Edit: Does Payday 2 is getting worse since update 240.5?
And Arrowhead fixed Helldivers servers, a bunch of bugs, crashes, the AFK timer, etc. in 2 WEEKS. Not in a month, and they had a lot more on their plate. And GSG released DRG: survivor early access, while working on Rouge Core, Season 5 and the 6th anniversary event.
When I started playing helldivers 2 and got addicted to it in short time i look to pd3 as inferior game , i doubt myself would ever like to return and play it again
Operation: Whoops, we forgot to add basic game functions to the game that could either keep us afloat, or make us bankrupt. Guess we'll have to start "working on the game" now *wink**wink* [proceeds to not fix any stability or performance issues, nor the server stability itself.]
On one hand, I'm glad to see gamers finally stop tolerating bad behavior like releasing unfinished games and patching them to be playable, and Payday 3's current players (or lack thereof) prove that some people do have brains and will eventually use them. On the other hand, this is the death of the Payday series, there is no amount of updates that will bring back a fanbase like this. So loyal and supportive and they drove everyone away over a course of five months, and I don't think they'll be coming back. What a waste.
5 months to just unready :( you know this reminds of the time postal 3 launched Payday 3 Postal 3 Buggy: Yes Buggy: Yes Bad gameplay: Yes Bad gameplay: Yes 2 was better than 3: Yes 2 was better than 3: Yes
No, they need to work on Payday 3 to satisfy the people who preordered the game. If they break away from 3 to work on 2 again people will call it a sellout and get upset. Even if they're losing money doing it, they need to work on fixing 3 and making it what they want it to be as an investment to get demand up.
