Me too dude.. though i was born in 84, so more of a late 80s, early 90s kid. Had a ton of ninja turtles.. me and my mom and dad, and adopted brother would watch horror movies at night.. i was never afraid cause i knew the monsters were Art. Rubber sculptures that artists worked for decades to learn to make. Now i make sculpts, just not for movies. And i long for the days of playing nes tmnt 2 and 3 with my brother. Or watching C.H.U.D with my parents. The holidays are thw worst.. but the memories are still with me... like going to Toys R Us and buying the "Disect an Alien" Mad Scientist Toy, or playing Mario 3 for the first time after my parents got it for me. If i could go back in time dude... id never stop thanking them.
@@Scav-Goblin well said bro! You described my childhood to the tee lol. It was just some magical and epic times back then. Everything seemed bigger back then too. Even the food tasted better, especially the Burger King whoppers lol
Shame it's not like that in real life. Goth people are picked on for looking different. I know from experience. The insults for being different. I pity the people who are narrow visioned.
I never really considered her Goth, more like Punk. I'm not sure Goth was much of a thing in America in 1985. And yes, I was alive then and saw this in the theater.
if only you knew her original death, it was uhhh pretty bad. she was going to be stabbed up the vag and speared upward. there are photoshoot pictures of it.
@@skeetersfunhouse4002 Don't patronize me. I knew of that death scene and the NPAA cuts to all Friday films. Doesn't change how I feel about this scene.
s@@skeetersfunhouse4002 NPAA sucks but it was probably best decision to keep this scene. She never deserved a violent death. Roy killed the wrong people.
When I was young, this was the moment I fell in love with that chick. I wore the tape out watching that part in amazement. I thought she was soooooo bad ass. And still do. Awesome song too.
Agreed and honestly I think it would of been interesting had she lived and maybe went on to sequels? Like down the franchise in the final one before she gets killed like the survivor in part 2? It’s like ten years later and the song comes on the radio and the camera closes in and you see Violet’s lips trembling remembering that night? In fact I honestly had hoped she would of maybe been the key to unlocking Tommy’s pain and finally putting it to rest or easing it as both would share that in common.
@SceneMissingFilmsThere's nothing wrong with feeling bad for the death of a fictional character in a movie. It just shows you're invested in the story.
We have the amazing Tiffany Helm (who portrays Violet) to thank for most of this since the music choice, dance, and everything about this character was all mostly her ideas. She basically played herself in this film.
When I saw this movie as a kid, I tried to imitate Violet when she was dancing to this song, I broke every bone in my body. Never again. I actually wanted her to survive because she didn't give two fucks but it was evident that she'd be a toe tag like the rest.
This was the film that made me realize that I will always carry a torch for artsy emo punk chicks. Also turns out that part 5 was my favorite out of all the Fridays.
Love her robot dance. ❤️❤️❤️❤️. I think violent should have lived because I've would have love to see her dance to this song at the end. Lol 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Violet reminds me of my friend in high school (at least her hair and liquid dancing). She ended up taking me to raves my senior year. Actually never have been to a school dance, we went downtown instead. Love the track
They did in the video game. U kill a goth girl dancing by herself in a room just like this one. Almost identical. But the game death was more brutal. Jason injects her with all the needles she has on the desk. Then knocks her out with one punch while she sits there dazed. She then OD's while uncouncious
When cast members talk about Tiffany Helm doing the robot dance people don't make it sound too special but it was different for a lot of people, myself included. Her dancing was smooth and that was my favorite part of Part 5. And liked her "Egyptian" moves and the song fits it well. Not sure what was with the Egyptian revival in the 80s but compared to what we have now I'd gladly take it.
Pseudo Echo's playing 4 shows in a couple of weeks time. I grew up with them as a teenager in the 80's. I did a radio interview with Brian back in 1999. Killer song, killer album, so many hits from Autumnal Park, and the follow up album Love an Adventure was awesome as well, what a great time to be alive. Violets dance moves takes me right back to that time and reminds me of what we were doing in the night clubs back then or when seeing the band Live.
No, I think the saddest death is Vickie in Part 2. It's slow. She sees it coming and just the look in her eyes when she is stabbed. That was sad. Plus, she seemed like a really lovely girl. I'm not saying Violet doesn't, but I do think Vickie's death was portrayed sadder.
I remembered this song from when I was a kid. I haven't heard it in 25 years but somehow I remembered he dance and I was surprisingly accurate with the melody of the song. That tells me its a great song
Part 5 is thee' BEST Friday!!! So much fun; so, so...so many WTF moments!! I friggin love this movie; and Violet?? OMG.... HUGE crush. Wonder whats she doing nowadays
Part 5 is probably the most underrated F13th of all time. I like The New Beginning (edited) better than the crap Michael Bay put out a few years ago, and Jason isn't even in it.
5 is great, one of my favorites ..even tho 6 was very fun to watch that's when they stoped having the Friday the 13th feel to it ..everything after is 100% crap
Ebolacrash I actually meant to say The New Beginning in my comment, lol. I do like part 6, too. I'm excited about the next F13th coming out on March 13th, 2015!
It's been a while since I watched Part 5... Violet isn't as similar to AJ as I remembered her being, but it's still very clear that's who AJ's based on. As soon as I saw AJ in the game, I immediately thought of Violet. it's pretty cool that they eventually added a part 5 map... complete with Violet's room and even the same posters on the walls / ceiling. (Alan Parsons Project, etc)
I was quite surprised when I checked the list of actors and actresses for the Stephen King adaptation "In the Tall Grass" after I watched it and saw Tiffany Helm on the list. She played Violet in A New Beginning. Didn't regonize her, but her role in "In the Tall Grass" was very very small. A nice surprise tho since Violet is my fave character from Part 5!
I agree, but there were a few of us who were listening to this 80's "alternative" music back then. its funny that now this kind of music is a symble of the 80's but in my circles it wasn't very popular. It was either mainstream pop, or metal/hair metal.
Probably my favourite character in F13: Pt 5. Shame she wasn’t the final girl… I found 5 to be a weird Friday movie but considering that Jason was a copycat killer in this one it makes complete sense for the “moral” characters to die…
Finalmente consegui! Eu estava lutando, "camelando", sofrendo horrores para conseguir chegar a essa música, que eu ADORO, neste filme! Finalmente! Nossa! Essa música é simplesmente DE-LI-CI-O-SA!
So early 80's I hate to admit it but when I was a kid this kinda music and dancing was normal lol and awesome. How things have changed but these were great times
There was a man so cold, no life was in his eyes He had a look so hard, I'd never seen him smile I could've told you then, you'd heard it all before And now you're in suspense, you'll have to wait for More In all those mysteries you're taken by surprise You never thought to see that look was in his eyes There's a man with no life in his eyes I was the only one who chanced it from the start There was an evil sense, I swallowed to my heart And as I took the vow a thought had come to mind There was a winter mist, I dared not look behind In all those mysteries you're taken by surprise You never thought to see that look was in his eyes PD you're welcome/ de nada
