Mbappe still holds the cards, even if Al Moneyfaq come and offer 250 mil for him, he has no obligation to sign the contract. Simply put, PSG are trying everything but Mbappe has the aces here and i'm sure he's aware of this.

He played PSG well. Signed a one year extension just to see if there was a possibility PSG could win the UCL. After they didnt, he made it look like he was gona sign another extension but didnt which took them offguard and now he has all the power in this situation.

Actually, what Mbappé is doing right now has positive impact to the football economy. One that is certain is that players have bargaining power to drive down the inflated transfer prices that the football industry has been experiencing for quite sometime now, driven by agents, football clubs and other related parties involved in the transfer markets. If Mbappé can stick to his bargain, and can find himself fit for a year if PSG decides to bench him, there will be certain impact, somewhat significant I say, to the market prices of the players that will “normalize” the inflated prices that has been happening for so long. And If other players act the same way as Mbappé is doing now, any “unnecessary” costs will be trimmed or eliminated and the Bosman Rule effect will have its “second incarnation” to make football players aware that they have an important role in this football industry.

It's a contract dispute. They can't force him out. If they hurt his sport potential by loosing a prime year of his career no big player will ever think of PSG to develop. This is what happens when you give a player ridiculous wages and power within the club. No other club would be willing match those wages and power given. Every league in the world needs wage cap to prevent this from happening again in the future but money corrupts.

I usually side with the clubs in these situations but this time I think Kylian is right. PSG proposed to him a contract for 2 years and the possibility of extending it IF he wanted to. There was never an obligation and taking into account how the club has been directed I don't doubt he's just tired of having to deal with these people.
