This was a fair review! I pocketed this just before the announcement of the plus variant and all I can recommend for better usage is to return to stock android (which is oreo) and delete the program that boots the default game launching app. Or flashing an sd card with Chaos Os which is an unofficial Amberelec fork. All can be easily found with a quick google search. Btw. The chip is RK3326. Also there's no wifi or bluetooth.

There is an unofficial fork of AmberELEC that can be put onto the device already that I believe would solve a lot of the issues you were having. Or at least give you means of solving them. Remapping, fixing aspect ratios etc.

8 plus 1 just means it has 8 gigs of internal memory and 1 gig of ram. Also this thing is just trash. Save your 50 bucks and just get a 35xxh.

You are all kinda wrong... 1+8 means it has 1gig of ram and 8 gig of "virtual ram" and it uses the rom to boost a bit the ram performance. Even if the statement is true, it's not going to help much, it will still feel like 1gb of ram and it will just kill some of the 64gb rom you have

The base 32gb model is usually found for around $50 on Aliexpress which appears to be the main place where this thing is sold

I don't think it has fans. Sometimes vents can still work even without a fan. I over clock my vita sometimes and it gets quite warm but I open the cartridge and it's like an exhaust vent and it cools down a bit, heat tends to go up and the charge port it's like an air intake. It should do something at least.
