PSX Longplay [217] Spider-Man 

This game lasts less than 2 hours, but I swear to you that as a kid it seemed to last days.

I used to say that the graphics of this game look realistic once upon a time😂😂😂

That last boss battle used to scare the shit out of me as a kid. I still remember the feeling of pure terror and feeling my heart pounding against my chest as I barely kept ahead of Monster Ock!!

This may be the nostalgia talking, but something about the simplicity in the CG backgrounds, and how the characters are designed and animated roughly, is really quite charming.

God I love how this game portrays Venom.

This game is a treasure from start to finish, really one of the best games on the PS1. It was fun, the controls were great, the music was awesome and all the little in-jokes made the older kids and adults chuckle. For instance, when Spidey is moving through the first helicopter level there's billboards for "Porkin' Donuts" which is made to look like the Dunkin Donuts logo. But the tagline says NYC's Finest - they were clearly poking fun at cops. Also, a lot of the graffiti pieces are actually taken from real graff pieces done by Seen and I think Zephyr, two famous NYC graff artists. A masterpiece for it's time, I would still play it if I had it.

This was one of the BETTER and BEST Spider-Man Games.

I know this games graphics are old but there is something about the simplicity and fun that makes me want to play it. Just a fun looking game.

This game had it all. Great soundtrack, extremely diverse level design, epic bosses, good story, fun gameplay. So simple yet so amazing. Nothing like today's bland and generic games with barely any originality. Still remember fighting lizards on a train and then running away from that helicopter.

I got a little emotional whenever I heard Stan Lee's voice. Truly a game of the ages.

It was 2003 and I was sitting with a friend of mine when I was 6 years old and we were at my grandparents home. I was playing either crash bandecoot or tekken 3 when all of the sudden my mom came home and she had a surprise for me, she reached for her bag and she pulled out a CD and that CD was this game, man I miss those times.

Such an iconic game; Rino Romano as Spidey's voice, the music remix, the graphics and that ridiculously terrifying final boss! "On the home stretch baby!!"

This game will always have a special place in my heart, this game is my introduction to my favorite super hero of all time. I love Spider-Man so much and I don't think I'd be a fan of the webhead without this game.

PS1 has a MASSIVE library of some very creative and way ahead of their time games. I'm discovering so many new to me games after getting a psclassic modded. The more I discover the more underappreciated the PS1 is. Still an awesome console that holds up even 25 years later.

I think this was the first game I ever played as a kid. I remember purposely falling off the buildings and into that yellow fog for some odd reason. But man, I've been looking for this forever. I never remembered the name of the game, but I remembered that yellow fog. This brings back so many memories!

I still own this game and this actually introduced me the iconic superhero. To this day, I still think this is THE best Spider-Man game ever. Some years back, I used to play Kid Mode for fun, and then when I suddenly tried Hard without special suits...it actually WAS hard (especially fighting Scorpion, Venom, and Carnage)! Even Normal was tricky. But I did done it with patience, and it was worth it, unlocking the ultimate suit Captain Universe. Even then, I still perfer the Black Suit, just because Spidey looks cool in it. Such nostalgia. And, those Stan Lee voice parts, RIP that great man... :(

When I first heard the news of his passing, I went back to watch the intro to this game. It was the first time I ever heard the man speak. I don’t know why I looked at the comments but to see that so many people had the same idea as me made me realize how far reaching Stan’s work was. Excelsior.

I remember very vividly how stoked I was when I first played this game back on late 2000. I was finishing school, and I just could not believe that I could control Spidey at my will. Plus, it was the very first time I heard Stan Lee's voice. Even though I couldn't speak english back then, the sound of his voice became almost instantly recognizable for me from that moment. I have so many fond memories from those simpler days. All thanks go to the man, the myth, the legend and mastermind behind all this: Mr. Stan Lee. May he Rest in Peace. Much deserved. What a life he lived and what a legacy he left behind!

I love that the NYPD in this continuity has adapted to all of the superpowered threats plaguing the city by using military attack helicopters with the most powerful conventional missiles possible.

This game was so refreshing ar the time, having fun with itself and encouraging you to explore and collect.

Final boss is pure nightmare fuel.
