The joke with this is that it started with Suga wanting to produce a song for PSY, and then PSY got him to feature on the song, then appear in the music video, and then got him to dance. 😂 You definitely have to watch the live performance of this. PSY was performing and then Suga surprised everyone by showing up to perform with him. You can hear how pumped the crowd already was with PSY and then they lost their minds Suga showed up.

Psy is a legend. And you are right. Great energy, funny guy. His big hit Gangnam Style got big in the US when it came out and the video was the first on youtube to hit 2 billion views. Definitely worth a watch.

I'd be really surprised if you really don't know who PSY is (pronounced Sigh). He MV and track Gangnam Style went Viral about 10 years ago and put the spotlight on Korea for a bit. I mean, I believe you that you don't remember, but it's hard to believe that someone wouldn't know that song. Love the behind the scenes making of this on BangtanTV.

Y'all never heard of Uncle Psy? He's a KPOP legend. He's got some legendary dance bops.

The filming crew, creators of the treatment of this MV is Lumpens (Yong-seok Choi). He is the same director of Agust D's Daechwita, Haegeum, etc, and most of the best BTS MVs. This is why on this MV there is the same car as in Daechwita. He got a Grammy nomination for best MV director with Jin's The Austronaut. His storyboards are full of amazing details, is really crazy.

If yall want to watch funny music videos, Psy's got you. The best part was Suga being tricked into doing the video with him after producing the song. It's one of my fav videos. It was very refreshing after suffering through the pandemic (along with" permission to dance").

This song was a huge bop last Summer. There was so many dance challenges because the dance is so much fun.

*"Naega" means "Me" in Korean 👍🏼 The whip is the same model as Yoongi's in Daechwita (with a different Color Scheme) and Gangnam Style Psy emerges to lose in a slap fight with Suga 😸 When Suga lands at the top is both Lil Meow Meow and a callback to the start of the MV for Fire ❤️‍🔥

One of the biggest almost secrets is that Suga is a closet comedian he loves to make people laugh. This isn’t the first “funny” hype song he’s written. He just loves experiment making all sorts of genres of music. Psy, one of the biggest stars in Korea was shocked and immediately said yes when Suga cold called him (they didn’t know each other although Psy is friends with others in BTS) and said “hey I kind of wrote a song/beat/demo and will fit you let’s work on it”. Suga’s repudiated so big he’s called the “hands of Midas” as a producer for his ability to write hits. He’s also got a huge $$$ amount to work with him unless he seeks someone out like for his projects he will approach people. It’s also funny because Psy had been working on a comeback album for years but was stalled on the project and working with Suga invigorated and got him so hype he finished it up. The behind the scenes the two are just cackling and laughing their fool heads off together having the best time recording and ended up best buddies.

Psy is just infectious. Don't matter what mood I'm in, he instantly lifts me back up

PSY is a legendary live performer. He keeps at this energy level for 3, 4, sometimes FIVE hours at his outdoor summer concerts. He even got in trouble once because he shoots so many water canons over the crowd all night to keep his fans cool. His fans are famous for always holding one hand up over their heads and jumping up and down or dancing throughout the whole concert. They do this to show PSY they are staying in the moment and not using their phones to take pictures or record. Of course a few people sneak a video now and then, but there are very few fancams from his shows.

Love the humor and back and forth old school K-Pop (Psy) v new K-Pop (suga rapper)… suga was only gonna produce and then Psy got him to feature and then he got Suga to dance and be in MV. 😂

Some how Suga from producing the son, end up in MV. They have a lot of respect towards PSY.

If you only know the direct translation of Yoongi's verse.. this translation doesn't give his verse justice.. The part where translations oversimplified it to "Haters gonna hate players gonna play" part (2nd half of the verse) were actually: "All the people who raised an offering hoping that we’d fail exactly how they wanted Gather them round & give them a light smack That’s enough Just shut up & let’s have fun together"

You shud watch the behind the scenes when Suga ( who we know doesn't particularly like dancing) did the dance routine with Psy. There is also a very funny scene during producing the song where suga was trying to sing his and Psy name (in lyrics) in.the studio he kept getting it wrong and Psy was just laughing so much. Suga just looked the cutest thru it all..💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

This song really took off when it came out. I think after the darkness of the pandemic, something so upbeat and energetic and hopeful sounding was perfect for that time to come out. PSY is respected senior in kpop since lots of idols today would have grown up listening to his hits. I think Suga and him got along really well creating this. The story of how all of this happened is kind of funny and endearing because, once again, Suga basically got hoodwinked into doing way more than just producing (kinda like what happened when he first joined BTS lol).
