The first story bothers me.... so "unlawful discharge of a firearm", "reckless driving/improper lane usage", "child endangerment" apparently aren't laws or charges in California?
5:30 I have a very hard time believing this story. Actions like this warrant assault with a deadly weapon, brandishing a firearm, child endangerment, and reckless driving. Seeing as this *supposedly* took place in California I can see CHP and the local police not doing their job (especially if this is Los Angeles) but no officer is going to say 'nothing can be done' in this situation.
LA Cops are either corrupt or as inept as the UK police force. I've heard of even more ridiculous cases than this, and I'm a SoCal native. (Remember, California was the state that said that arson can be labeled a misdemeanor: *Under California Penal Code Section 452 PC, reckless arson is a "wobbler" which can be charged as a felony or a misdemeanor, depending on the defendant's criminal history and whether someone was injured, whether the fire damages an inhabited structure, and whether the defendant was only burning his personal property.*
The first story has to be bull lol. A guy going at high speeds trying to take u off the road with two kids in the back and also attempting to blow ur head off wasn't taken seriously? Especially it all being over honking?? He endangered every single life on that road and somehow it's just seen as "road rage"??? That guy is obviously a danger to society, I'd hate to see what would happen if someone actually did more then honk at him.
Literally, that officer is bullshit. The man is proven to be endangering multiple children, likely drink driving, he SHOT a moving car. Should be losing his license for wreckless driving, etc. That was a lazy officer, and that garbage happens all the time. They should go back to the police, and seek out a different officer. If nothing resolves, go to child services and talk to them about it. If nothing happens, try to see if you can get above those officers. Maybe see a lawyer. It's not just aggression. He could have killed someone. He was obviously trying to. He also has kids under his care. Those kids aren't safe, and he could do something of this level to them.
Macabre Malefica What is wrong with you? Where do you get this moronic view of California? One city doesn’t represent the entire fucking state! I’d love to know where you live.
Guys if you’re ever chased by someone in a vehicle drive to the nearest police station. I’m not sure why the dispatcher didn’t tell the driver to do this. Also the crazy road rage guy should be able to be convicted of at least child endangerment, use of deadly force, or something. The officer absolutely SHOULD have been able to convict him with something but it sounded like he just didn’t want to deal with the paperwork
@@kenrose2523 I would say that there is definitely something wrong with cops in general since they dont even know the law, but again, there is something wrong with citizens since they think that what the other drunk driver did was perfectly legal. 🤷🏽♂️
@@silver00bullet NOT just cops buddy; US law in general. This nonsense is becoming more and more broken day by day. Give it some time and we'll become like Europe.
I know right I make sure both mine and my fiances phones are fully charged before either of us leaves if it's not we take a long a portable charger or cable to charge
Idk what cop or where you live but in the USA that's like 5 felonies in the first story , attempted murder and a bunch of others like discharge a firearm , putting his kids in dangerous situation , couple others I'm sure
Yeah, but what the person was getting at was that he or she had no way of letting CPS know where the family lived for them to be able to check on the kids. I mean, yeah they had the crazy drivers license plate number & had their face on camera, but CPS still needs a valid address to be able to make a home visit to check in on the kids. But, I really hope that the crazy driver & his crazy wife ended up getting some help & quit driving like complete fucking assholes risking so many innocent peoples lives on the roads, & especially risking their innocent freaking children's lives who were in the back seat the entire time the father was driving like a complete & total freaking psycho. Hopefully the kids are okay & safe. Hopefully the crazy parents just had a case of some SERIOUS road rage that day & let's hope that they arent always like that & that they're actually somewhat decent parents at home to those children... People are fucking crazy, dude. And for literally no fucking reason at all, other than they're just such angry people on the inside.
Or if the person was being shot at, likethey apparently were!? The police should most certainly be able to do something about that! That part makes no sense to me.
@@leahvogelsimpson It really just depends on the situation. I feel like in that person's story & their situation, considering they had the persons plate number, & actually had them on camera committing those crimes, driving like a fucking maniac which is considered reckless driving which you can most definitely get pulled over & get a ticket for, & for verbally threatening them, for intentionally following them for well over a mile, going out of their way to speed just to catch up to the person, shooting their freaking GUN at them on the hwy which is risking other drivers lives bcus he could have easily shot and actually hit another passing driver, and they also had their children in the car, so I just feel like the cop who was there was just being completely fucking lazy & didn't want to go thru all the trouble of filling out all that paperwork since "nobody technically got hurt." But yes, absolutely something could have been and should have been done about that whole fucking situation. That police officer needs to be fucking fired.
@@leahvogelsimpson But like my comment I posted under this video a bit ago, my bf and I were shot at while driving home one night bcus of another driver having some serious road rage issues, & the bullet got lodged in my passenger side door frame & if the door hadnt stopped the bullet, it would have most definitely went right thru my head! I was so unbelievably lucky that night the door stopped that bullet from coming in thru the door into my head. But the police cojkdnt do much for our situation bcus we didnt get the guys plate number we only had the make n model of his car and we had no idea what the dude looked like bcus it all happened so fast. So the cop just took the bullet out of the car door n put it n an evidence bag, n they apparently never found or caught the guy who shot us.
I can actually help the person in the first story out. They need to send the video to the local news and post it on RU-vid. It will at least get child protective services involved.
my insomnia makes the 2-4 of sleep I can manage really hard to achieve. No rain backgrounds, man telling me how to meditate or flutes with sounds of nature help at all, but your voice is like silk and tucks in my neurotic mind for some much needed silence. It's nice to have a voice that drowns out all of mine that never let me sleep. Thanks Joel, now I can finally sleep 🛌
Okay so during the car chase the guy shot his gun at the girl and you mean to tell me that there's nothing wrong with that? Because from where I sitting that all sounds more like attempted murder than road rage. On top theirs video of the whole situation. No way something isn't adding up sounds like a dirty cop maybe they know each other.
If you're worried about not getting a New Years Eve kiss this year, just remember Valentine's day is coming up and you're probably going to be alone for that too
For the first one involving the roads rage I would recommend that you file an anonymous wellness check you can give them the license plate number stating you saw someone drinking alcohol while driving with children in car seats in the vehicle with them that'll be enough to get child services involved
For story #1, there are just CRAZY road rage people everywhere, one night a few years ago me and my bf were driving and got stopped at an intersection, there was a car in front of us and the light turned green and they sat for a good minute so my bf honked, they drove and got into the lane next to us and started screaming and when we got to the next light they were right next to us and they got out, luckily it was midnight and there was no traffic so my bf just took off at the red light.. I always wonder what they would’ve done..
This first story has been done MANY times. The reckless driver could have absolutely been charged and prosecuted, either the story is fake or the original poster is lying.
Thanks, I really needed this. Was really tired last night after a whole day on airports traveling back home. Couldn't fall asleep. Its morning and I don't remember hearing anything pass the second story so I'm back to listen, thanks .
Regarding the first story I had a lady rage for me honking at her and through a 2l bottle at me! I took pics of her license plate and showed the cops! The cop told me nothing could be done unless she admits to it! He tricked her by saying I had footage and she admitted to it! She ended up going to court and payed me 1k for a dent the size of a quarter! This story sounds fake but I have phone call proof if anyone is curious
i’ve been watching for about 3 years and honestly i get so excited when you upload. i get excited to see which intro it is, what type of story, thumbnails etc. thank you for always making amazing videos and helping me and many other people sleep soundly 🖤
I’m confused about the Acupuncture story. She says she was 14 and then a year later she was filling her car. 15 and driving?? Did I miss hear that part ?
If it's a family owned restaurant or her mom worked there even if it wasnt family owned she could work there. Chick fila will hire 15 year olds if their parents okay it they just cant work over so many hours a week.
She also couldve been close to her 15th birthday the first meeting and when she saw him again was a little over a year so she was 16. Or couldve gotten permit to drive to and from work, my sister had one when she was 15
Awwwww snaps! Let's read upload! Means I have new material to listen to when I'm going to sleep..cause I'm weird like that.. I listen to Horror stories when I go to sleep..
I think all of us in here do the same ... It sounds weird to all the outsiders but to all us "Let's Read" followers it's just a nightly routine... I find his voice as soothing as my Sleepytime Tea 😊
Story #3 a couple years ago i went on a ride along with the local law enforcement and got a free pass to see a dead body before the coroner came to work and yeah I can confirm. The smell of a dead body is the worst thing I've ever smelled.. I've been thinking of writing it and submitting it here.
It's sad that idiots who are on their phones are now more dangerous than drunk or tired drivers. Stay off of your phones while driving people, that text or email isn't worth killing yourself or some innocent person.
I've seen cops on their phones both at stop lights & while in motion. It really is ridiculous that people cant just wait or at least pull over if they believe it could be urgent
Your channel, compared to be. Busta and the other ones. Yours is literally the only one I can fall asleep too. You voice is so soothing. I've literally listened to all your videos.
The idiot was concerned about you honking? And the wife omg 😱. What about those two putting their precious 2 kids lives in danger like that. If you were going 100 imagine them just to keep up. Some people may not like what I have to say but with the info you have and footage I would be calling The Department of Child Services and file an endangerment of children complaint. When they see that footage they will handle the rest. The officials will go to the house and do an investigation. If these people were like that on the Road imagine what the officials could find at home. Beer bottles, liquor, drugs etc. It will be awhile before you will feel comfortable again to drive. It will come. Why they took pictures of car ? They weren’t in their right mind. Just plain stupidity. Don’t start thinking they will go to your home how could they get your address that way. ? Just plain idiots. Also know you can remain anonymous when you report the case. It’s the obligation for ACS/BCW- departments of children services to investigate all cases. Good luck!
Story 4: I don't say this often (actually, I think it might be the first time I'm saying it), but what...was the story here? Relationship is undefined (first he calls it friends with benefits, then later he says they'd talked about taking things slow; those are two different things, friend). She falls for him too hard and too fast, gets unsettlingly clingy, then gets understandably upset when he ghosts her, but goes a little overboard, but then...apologizes and respects his boundaries? Was the fact that she was in therapy supposed to make it creepier? I mean, I'm happy for the dude if this is where it ends, and I hope the woman's therapy helps her to not fall for men who want to play around and not actually define the relationship. I just don't find this story particularly creepy.
Sorry I don't care if the woman in that single dad's story admitted she acted crazy. He was still a inexcusable jerk. Just be honest with people and don't leave them hanging and guessing.
So...for the first story. Hell yes there is something you can do. Simply make a complaint to DHS about the kids. Then, SUE THE SOB! Then file a complaint against the officer. Reckless discharge of a fire arm. Harassment. Careless driving, wreckless driving. Did they have a permit for the weapon.....? Etc
The first story has to be bs like seriously ?! This dude could be hit with some many things from child endangerment , DUI , reckless driving , attempted murder , etc like what do you mean they couldn't do anything AND IT WAS RECORDED . best believe every news outlet would know about this , I mean the bullshit they put on the news they'd love to cover this story . There's something that can be done.
One time I was coming home from a Deftones show in Pomona, CA. I had to go back to my friend’s house in Fullerton to get my car. It was around midnight and there was a Del Taco before the freeway onramp. I got my green burrito with extra cheese and a coke and sat and ate in my car. When I was done I took off and got on the 57 fwy going north. Someone tailgated me all the way up to the 10 fwy. I’d switch lanes, the person would switch lanes. I’d speed up or slow down, person did the same. I was like WTF? There was barely any traffic and I was 99% sure I didn’t cut someone off. This person did this for about 30 minutes before getting off at some random off ramp. This was 1997 so no cell phones. My dad hated when I drove late at night by myself. I did anyway, but I understand why he didn’t like it. Now I have an arsenal of “safety gadgets” I keep in my car 😉
The first story sounds like a load of BS. In ANY state if you fire your gun at someone without just provocative. You will be charged with negligent discharge of a firearm. And if there were kids in the vehicle that would be child endangerment.
Dude I recently was watching tats top videos and I couldn't help but ask if you think you could do SCP videos? Idk their videos is what led me to find you cause your narration is top tier. It's just a request, I'd love a reply

Story 2: why anyone would get into a vehicle with someone they barely know with an almost dead phone is beyond me. Story 4: do not assume people will “get the hint”, be direct with people. if you start even a casual relationship texting constantly, they’re going to think that’s normal. Them showing up after not having any contact to make sure OP was okay doesn’t throw any warning signs for me. This guy just seems like he was expecting “okay going to have sex but you showing any interest in me is clingy”. The person was definitely clingy, but yeah if someone I’d slept with then lied about their phone breaking so they couldn’t talk would be seriously upsetting. She seems more mature than OP. Screw that guy.
“Grams of Percocet a day.” The typical dosage is 5/325, 5mg of oxy, 325mg of Tylenol. To make a gram of Percocet, you need 1,000mg. Divide that by 5. So this guy was taking 200 pills a day? That amount of Tylenol alone would kill your liver. Even if he was taking the highest that’s prescribed for Percocet, which is 10/325, he would need 100 pills a day. Maybe she meant OxyContin, or he was mixing it with Dilaudid, Soma, alcohol, weed, or something. Either way his liver would’ve failed after 20 years of just that amount of Tylenol daily
What a useless dispatcher, why didnt she try to give directions to a police station? And the officer saying he can’t do anything with video evidence of laws being broken.
What up with all these chicks from the ‘burbs turning moderately worrisome stories in and thinking it’s ok to pass them as Spooky LetsRead stories? I mean.. They act like they’ve never been to Florida before. I feel like the next one will be: my frightening waiter who took too long and looked at us weird at Olive Garden.
Can someone please go check on those little BB’s who aren’t mine from the nasty baddie who threw a bottle at my car but more importantly - at my heart..
I found your channel on a friends suggestion to give it a listen. Are these truly true stories or just short stories for entertainment nothing more? Some of them sound a bit hard to believe. :/
So many inconsistencies and unbelievable events in that 1st story I stopped listening after 3 minutes. Sorry to say, you're choosing some real crap to narrate these days. 😣
