Dr. Shannon Curry , the psychologist hired by Johnny Depp, responds to the questions of Amber Heard's lawyer. My reaction #AmberHeard #JohnnyDepp #ShannonCurry #Trial
Lawyer: lol she's just a psychologist? I can take her easy. Psychologist: You know my entire job is making sure my wording is clear and cannot be misinterpreted, right?
@@shadow23498 Elaine was so incompetent when she argued about the psychologist's bias. All she had to ask was "have you ever testified negatively towards someone who hired you?" Then she can establish the history as a sign of bias. Instead Elaine wanted her to speculate about this specific case, then argued it wasn't speculation. Then complained when she couldn't ask the question. Good grief. She's a high priced lawyer, if I can figure this out as a layperson, she should be able to.
@@theduckyninja1086 I guess she’s trying to “be chill” about it. Since it’s highly televised. A lot of judges I’ve seen would snap at them and tell them the ruling was final and to move on unless they wanted to be spoken to.
how is contemplating a fictive scenario not speculation?, funny how she tries to dismiss the psychologists report with bias but the biggest bias in that conversation is the attorney herself reading the report in defense of amber heard... hahaha. You can see the psychologist gained so much confidence after that idiotic attempt by the female attorney
She was trying to make her look like she was on Depp side all the questions before that, that last question she got objected was the final question to make her point that she was saying what team depp wanted, that's why the lawyer was so upset that even argued against the objection, you can even notice she was looking for more questions but because she didn't had any more questions she jumped to that last question that she had already think of.
The main point is that she's not Dr Phil. She's not going to risk her professional reputation by cooking up a phony diagnosis, nor speculate about whether Depp and his lawyers expected her to be a female Dr Phil.
the way she was basically asking the same questions over and over again with slightly different wording- i would've gone insane if i were the psychologist
That's a simple interview tactic, widely use by police, investigator, govt interviewer alike. If you're giving a different answer to each question then they know you're not speaking the truth.
I was once testifying in court when I was ten years old and for almost the entire HOUR the lawyer asked me the same question with different words over and over, I legit got tired and asked if he was searching for a different answer then the same one I was giving 😂 the other lawyer finally got the judge to tell him to move on
Trying to discredit an experienced impartial psychologist because her husband purchased muffins and she attended an interview at Johnny's house is laughable.
I do know that in real cases they would ask that no matter what you want the public to believe, you need to tell us your attorneys the truth. It’s possible they know what happened but hired gun just carries out instructions of the lease owner. If she lied to the attorneys too they can easy withdraw from the case
The psychologist gives me such Harley Quinn vibes. Smart, sharp, attractive, and just downright confident. Couldn't have put anyone better up on the stand to deal with these clown lawyers.
“My husband bought the muffins and I brought them to the office” “So you’re saying your husband was having an affair with Ms Heard and this is just a way to get back at her. Is that correct?”
It's like she thought she could actually get through a line of questioning and a competent witness answered in unpredictable ways, leaving the lawyer nowhere to go.
@@sherpajones 100% and that part of “is that correct?” from the lawyer, then she answers “that’s not correct” it derailed this lawyers train of thought each time leaving her stranded all the time.
IMO, many lawyers have gotten use to dealing with most Americans, who're defensive and impulsive with what they say. During a trial, what you say can be turned around against you in various ways. Really, a good lawyer is capable of manipulating language in this way. What most lawyers are NOT prepared for is someone who understands the nuance of language, psychology, and the proper means to frame things. Curry did a fine job detailing precisely what was in her statement, and NOT give in to loose malleable statements designed to be misinterpreted. So if you're a lawyer who is not use to someone doing this, it can put you in a loop dealing with it. Plus given the topic (Amber Heard's mental health), discrediting her was a key part of the case....which Amber's team failed at.
The gallery was admonished by the judge multiple times for laughing, she finally had to take a zero tolerance stance because people were laughing at Amber, her attorneys and JDs snark.
a bunch did, near the start, then the judge said if there's any more laugh, cough, or otherwise disrespectful or disruptive behaviour, she'd kick everyone out
She is reaching so hard to disqualify this psychologist and she is grasping for straws however the psychologist is not going to subject her credibility for anyone and is sticking to the facts.
She may be pretty, but has less going on in the brains department. She walked straight into the traps set by this lawyer, rather embarrassing actually.
@@PeterHendtlass Please, tell us where these traps were, cos there were certainly no traps laid in this segment. The lawyer was too busy checking into the muffins!
@@karenjones1 They were the trap….? The focus on the muffins was to demonstrate that we know exactly who this woman is. They revealed everything you needed to know about this woman: somebody who has been bought.
I love how half the courtroom literally just facepalms at 7:00 when Heard's lawyer asks about the muffins for the second time, after Dr. Curry had literally just given an in-depth explanation as to exactly what happened. 🤣🤣🤣
Oh my God, there are people face palming, throwing back their heads and laughing. Never noticed that. One guy in the back buried his face in his hands.
Lawyers come off as so nasty and manipulative. "I'm asking you a question and I'd like you to try and answer it".. in other words "I want you to answer the way I want you to answer, so try again"
The crickets, the owls, and the bats damn near had me rolling on the floor 🤣 that and the spectators not even trying to hide their smiles lol Johnny’s got this in the bag.
It's been almost 11months now and now I can laugh about all this. I was so emotionally invested because as a DV victim I identified with Johnny and badly wanted him to win. But now I can see this defence was built around muffins, bruise kits, Depp peeing in the hallway, dinners and drinks, lawyers objecting to their own questions, and expert witnesses like Dr Smiegel.
Love the crickets. It seems like every line of questioning she tries gets shut down by a competent witness and she is scrambling for a new line of questioning.
❌ counts of lying under oath ❌ counts of assault ❌ counts of false allegations ❌ counts of defamation And whatever the charge is for shitting in someone's bed. Like SEND HER TO PRISON ALREADY.
I imagined Amber Heard told her lawyer team "that psychologist doesn't know how to keep secrets, she even told her husband on the day we gonna have a session. Her husband even bought muffins for me after knowing it"
%100 believe this, it’s based in truth and the world revolving around her even though it’s clear she frequently brings muffins into the office for clients not just her.
I LOVED the "muffin story"! That has to be one of the most hilarious parts of the trial. Every time Elaine was smug and assured that she'd latched onto something juicy, she got her ass handed to her. She's a very slow learner.
The psychologist is an amazing girl. Beautiful and highly intelligent. Smart and quick mouth, confident and way ahead of the stupid lawyer who's trying so hard to side swipe her.....Nice work Miss Psychologist 😎🤘🤙👍
The real takeaway from this is that no one should be automatically believed until their stories are tested in court. That might be inconvenient to those wanting to create easy, black and white ethical constructs, but it is the best path to the truth.
So many were expecting the judge to rule in Depp's favor before Amber said a word. Clearly, a sad indictment on the ability of the majority of the public to understand the simplest legal precepts.
that’s not quite what was being said. the lawyer was trying to get the doctor to admit that she told her husband she was going to interview “amber heard,” as in she revealed to him who it was. which is a privacy breach. and the doctor was saying that all she said was “can you bring muffins to my office this morning as i have a client that i’ll be working with the whole day.”
The hidden eye roll the good doctor makes at the end when she closes her eyes sums up the entire case of Turd's legal team. "My husband is not going to believe that his muffin buying made it into a trial. I am being questioned by crazy people"
This is a perfect example of when things are done right there is no reason to lie her answers were quick she didn't hesitate or stutter. Amber's attorneys were outclassed plain and simple.
I find it hilarious that during the time the psychologist was answering questions no one often stood up to call hearsay. She was so on point in answering just facts and staying in the spectrum with her answers. I like how the lawyer on stand tried to twist the event about her interview, and many times the lawyer came back to the event to try to discredit the psychologist and Depp. It was amusing to see lawyers try to use mind games against someone who studies mind games as a profession
Here's what we've got so far from Amber: 1) He wasn't the only alcoholic and drug abuser. She drank 2 bottles of wine a day, took drugs as well by her own admission. 2) Caught lying about using the makeup that didn't exist back then to cover her bruises frequently, which was refuted by the makeup company. 3) Past DV arrest against her ex, admitted to DV against Johnny, suspicion of DV against her own sister (her sister was discussing it with her friends by the poolside in a video clip), and assaulted her ex-best friend in public. In contrast Johnny has no history of being violent towards women, and his ex-spouses all speak highly of him. 4) Audio recording of her admitting to cutting his finger in Australia (not allowed in this trial due to technicalities), proving again that her testimony was a lie. 5) Her psychologist lied about Amber having no DV history and was caught out by Johnny's lawyer. 6) Has NO witnesses or evidence (all conveniently random strangers that she doesn't know or deceased people like the bodyguard) 7) DV lawyers analyzing the case said her broken nose is fake and doesn't look like any of the countless injuries they've seen, and it's impossible to cover the swelling and bruising with makeup. 8) A former FBI and CIA body language expert said she shows signs of deception. 9) Allegedly got her nose broken, hit multiple times, her scalp and hair ripped off, penetrated by a bottle, dragged over broken glass and got her arms and legs "pretty cut up", then somehow felt safe enough to take sleeping pills with her "attacker" in the same house, woke up the next day and made him coffee, then went to James Corden's show miraculously healed. No marks, no scars, no pictures, no medical report . Hair stylist saw no signs of abuse. 10) Multiple witnesses (including 3 cops) saw no signs of abuse. 11) Claimed she wanted to leave Johnny, but in all the audio clips she was the one begging him to stay . 12) Claimed she always tried to de-escalate, but in audio clips she was always the aggressor preventing him from leaving and taunting him . 13) Allegedly feared for her life but bought him a large knife . 14) Allegedly hated his drinking problem and wanted to help him quit, but drank in front of him all the time . 15) Was completely different in her 2016 deposition, where she was arrogant and smirking. 16) Proven once again as a liar when she went back on her public promise to donate her divorce money to a children's hospital. 17) Fits Dr Curry's assessment of her mental disorders: >A) Overly dramatic and embellishment (He beat me up like in a scene from the Avengers) >B) Flowery language (He was the love of my life, It felt like a warm glow) >C) Lacks actual substance (He beat me and I thought oh the carpet is dirty. There was mashed potatoes on the wall and my dog stepped on a bee, but oops I don't remember if I threw the bottle at him.) >D) Mimicking (Copied Johnny's outfits every day and Dr Curry's hairstyle) >E) Needy and needs approval (Audio of her refusing to let Johnny leave) >F) Sense of shallowness (Facial expression changes in 0.5s whenever Camille objection stunlocks her) >G) Externalization of blame (Never takes accountability for anything and paints herself as an angel) >H) Deep seated anger and abuse of partners (DV) >I) Manipulation and self-centred (Gaslighting: Look what you made me do Johnny) >J) Fear of abandonment (Audio in Australia post finger accident of her crying and afraid it's over with Johnny) >K) Make a lot of accusations when feeling slighted (Threatens with restraining order and abuse claims after Johnny wants to leave her) >L) Makes threats with legal system to keep partner from leaving (Threatens with restraining order and abuse claims after Johnny wants to leave her)
The fact that people are still defending her when all of this can be proven is wild to me. She was the agresor and even their marriage counselor said that she took pride out of starting conflict with him.
This is a perfect example of why the pandemic offers us an opportunity to make trials more fair, by playing them to the jury on a 90-second delay. Counsel plants knowingly false ideas in the heads of the jury; in a delay situation many of defense counsel's questions would be objected to, objection sustained, and the jury would never hear the false-trail questions. Eventually, as counsel realizes that they can't get away with it any longer, trials would be much shorter, reducing the backlog in many court systems.
dude i feel so bad for amber's lawyers! they basically weren't given anything to work with to form an argument against johnny so they were left to take anything they could get and run with it.
5:19 is just sloppy by AH's lawyers. They heard Dr. Curry say that she gave muffins to AH and told them they were from her husband, and automatically assumed that this must have meant that Dr. Curry must have told her husband about AH. Totally unreasonable logical jump. And it backfired really badly.
My old manager used to bring loads of sweets to the office too 😂 she believed that helped team’s productivity and lifted our moods. Dr curry seems like a great boss
I could never quite decide whether the lawyer is just terrible at her job, or if Amber Heard had so little leg to stand on that there was no way she could have done a good job. Maybe a bit of both.
The lawyer: "Do you know the muffin man? The muffin man, the muffin man? Do you know the muffin man, who lives on Drury Lane?" The psychiatrist: "I do not, in fact, know the muffin man. I do not live on Drury Lane, nor is he relevant to my witness testimony"
Excellent! Dr Shannon Curry evinced more credibility in a knowing 4-second smile than Heard's lawyer has throughout the 4-week trial! Thumbs up if you caught the epic irony of Heard's lackluste lawyer trying to discredit Dr Curry. Haha, I know which I'd hire!!
