Absolute Gem Ankur. I read the book and it is really an eye opening. I think one more important lesson which was mentioned in the book was that "Don't start comparing or start following outliers in the world". What's your view on that?
I recently subscribed to Ankur's channel and watched a few of his videos in last one month or so. I think this is one of his best videos so far (may be bcos the topic of Money has always been close to my heart). My approach towards making money and creating wealth has got a new definition today after watching this video. The book is really great, I have read it and one of my favourite lesson from this book is : Having control over your time to do whatever you want, however you want, and for as long as you want is real happiness, and pays the highest dividend than anything else. Money is a tool to achieve it.
Hello sir, I got infected with corona virus during second wave. It took me 4-5 months to get recovered fully. But during this tough time, I started reading books like the richest man in the Babylon, rich dad and poor dad etc. These books gave me the utmost pleasure while I was lying on the bed because of corona virus. I come from a sound family. I have already a lot of assets but these things never satisfied me. After reading these books, I truly understand the meaning of money and gain control over my expenses. That was the time, i realised ki sb kuch mess up hogya h or parents ko nai bta skte! Mne ghar pr kam amount btaya tha! To unse extra paise b nai le skti thi.. but somehow I managed that by taking extra money from my father for my fees! But later, i started learning “financial education” because phle b mere pas account m 2000 rupees b nahi rhte the!! And i am following you! I donot know why books have written, at very young age I have realised to have our people around is biggest wealth and. It going to doc is biggest blessing. And with generous amount of food to eat and cloth and comfortable way to travel.
Though I agree with most of the things said - not everything. I agree we shouldn't chase money/show-off etc but if one is not spending money on the desires then I am not sure what would you do with that wealth, and for how long and for whom you will hold off your desires. There is a difference between reckless spending and fulfilling your desire. Going to a club every day, eating food inexpensive restaurants, playing golf, and spending on heavy subscriptions is reckless, not buying your dream car/home or a phone or good clothes - those things people earn like achievements - just don't say those show-off. Also, remember habits that someone lived for 10 years will not suddenly go-way and that if someone thinks that person will start spending on something he really wanted to do throughout his life NOPE. So I have seen people spending recklessly (on loans/credit cards etc) that's stupidity, also I have seen people having millions in banks and driving a 20 years old car, using a 4-5 years old phone - that's also stupidity. Live your life - be happy - don't think too much about money - if you have, spend it wisely(even FDs are okay :) invest in MF), fulfill your dreams and of your families, go for trips, create memories that's LIFE.

The meetings on financial planning assume inflation @ 6-7% p.a. It has been my experience that few things become cheaper also which is not taken into calculation. The assumed cost of education and child marriage can be brought down considerably. Luxury/optional items can be curtailed. But you must provide for the future.
