@Jose Nicolo Mercado, dude, i Just made a joke about how the circus music gives me flashbacks from that infernal final level in the first game, no need to explain the entire plot twist of the second game
I love this Moment so much Bob recognizes that she is more of a victim. He knows she had a psychotic breakdown because of the things a brutal dictator forced her to do. Its just such a profound sense of empathy
Maybe that's another of the reasons of why Helmut's image of Bob is an ear: a kind and compassive person who was ready to lend an ear to others; now that he's putting his life back in order, that aspect of him is flowering once again.
It just occured to me their "concentration" style is very befitting their characters. Ford, Bob and Compton adopted the classical psychic stance. Ford being the essential founder of the Psychonauts and Bob and Compton having families that are part of the modern day Psychonauts. Compton's little shake also could be indication of his enormous psychic energy. Cassie adopts a stance similar to Buddhist meditation, especially since she's supposedly of Chinese descent thus it's probably something from her culture. Helmut meanwhile is relaxed and chill, likely a joke to the whole drugs thing but also to showcase as the creative one, since he is the only one lying down. Otto being so involved in technology, channels his psychic energy through a piece of tech. Details like this help make good characters.
That's kind of the reason I love these characters, none of them really seem to hate each other even if some of them have issues with each other. They really do come across as an old team of friends that truly loved each other.
@@ThePa1riot It even extends to the non-psychonauts. I'm of the opinion that Augustus is legitimately the most compassionate character in the series. He decieved, lied to, had his son run from him, had to find out that the one who he thought of as his mother wasn't really her, and that his real mother had died, and so much more. And yet, he's optimistic. He has his down moments, like when he just remembered the truth. He admits that he has a lot to think about and consider, and he admits that he is wary of Ford after everything that happened. And yet, he forgives Ford. He can't be angry at Ford or Lucy, because he knows how much they suffered, too. Sure, he has some mental baggage to sort out, but he's already excited for the future of his family, and he has readily embraced the psychic powers running through him and his children. He really is the best dad.
I love how this random lady walks in to their special sanctuary and declares that she used to fool around with somebody on the beanbags and yet they instantly know that she’s Lucy even though they thought she was dead lol
Lucy's guise as "Nona" was mental alone, I think, whereas her guise as Maligula is more involved (costume change, etc.). It's plausible enough they could recognize her, I think, especially given her immediate reference to something only Lucy and Ford would know (her romantic entanglement with Ford). (Also, Ford's reaction immediately lets the rest of the group know that she's telling the truth in that regard)
considering everyone's head looks like it was shaped by hitting 'random' on the character creation screen, I can believe they'd recognize her by sight alone
Bet Raz at the end might thought: wait if you loved Lucy does that mean... you're my grandfather Ford????? Idk just thought it be nice since Ford and lucy cared for each other
Wonder why Mentalis uses that eye medallion for his PSI powers. My theory is that he's a relatively weak psychic, but he's super smart, so he invents psychoreactive devices to work as a sort of handicap aid.
Regardless of in-lore explanation, it's cool that most of them engage in a way that fits their character. Raz with his goggles and classic pose, Helmut nonchalantly, Compton nervously and trying to block out external distractions, Cassie with methodical meditation (probably outlined in her book), and Otto through one of his inventions. Surely there's no way to have so many shots of characters performing the same action over and over again without your animation team wanting to do something unique for each one, but it's still nice that they did it.
2:08 Lucy to this day can make Ford blush like no tomorrow from embarrassment and he probably wanted to die that very moment well also being somewhat aroused from the very memory of it. I love when people get that shocked to look on their face.
Anybody else notice Ford was the only one once I was looking side-to-side when she's said we used to sneak in here and fool around I think something happened there but he's just not saying
I think it's because the others didn't know that she was still alive, since it was believed that Ford killed Maligula. It's also the guilt of what he did to her psyche.
@@EmptyMan000 Yeah but that wasn't entirely her fault, Ford unlocked something in her mind that she had kept buried since who knows how long. So everyone was kind of to blame for what she ended up doing. Even the original psychnauts admit that what happened there was their fault
@@dannytheman1313 Maligula is supposed to represent that primal portion of your mind that creeps up when you're in a life and death type of situation. It's essentially a personification of the fight or flight response. So, nothing unique to Lucy other than it stuck around and took almost complete control of her because of the horrors of war.
Kinda, if you go to Bob and Helmut after Bob's brain in front of the van, Helmut makes a jab at Nick's brain maybe being in "Otto's creepy brain collection; He doesn't keep the best records"
Bob hugging Lucy makes me SOB. The one person who could’ve held onto the biggest grudge against her. For years he thought she ripped the love of his life from him. Ruined his entire life. But he doesn’t blame her. He doesn’t need to. He’s made mistakes and has hurt people in his own pain, too. If he doesn’t forgive her, how can he expect others to forgive *him?*
I have a theory that Otto mentalis isn’t a real psychic at all, or more over he’s an artificial psychic~ he was the only ones mind who didn’t get shattered during the fight between meligula, and he found an output for his tragedy via inventing how he felt, and the psychonauts used them and made Otto feel better again~ and the fact when he astral projects he does it from his necklace and not his mind itself, and he does have an ample borderline obsession with psytanium, so maybe Otto invented his way into becoming a psychic! And his necklace is what gives him psychic abilities~ since him and cruller experimented of psytanium~ I believe Otto found a way to turn a normal person into a psychic, I guess that’s one good reason his past is shrouded in mystery~
I actually don't think so. I prefer to think that Otto is just a rather practical person that puts all of his focus into his hands and can't keep them still. Maybe the amulett helps channel his psi-powers into something not-moving so his hands are free to do other stuff.
Am I the only one who thinks Norma’s logic makes absolutely no sense? I mean seriously; GIRLFRIEND?!! What on earth gave her that idea at all. I have evidence to support this, but I think she just assumed that cause Raz is half Grulovian, but she has also had it out for him since day one sooooo idk.
I'm glad that they added the shop and the brain tumbler in Green Needle Gultch since once you go inside you're locked in the area, but they wouldn't have had to if they like... didn't lock you in GNG.
Maybe Psychonaut will deserve another sequel. Not only they going to find the Helmet Bear body, but I was wondering what was behind the mastermind the arch enemies of Psychonaut.
You should do videos about the game 12 minutes, stuff that not a lot of people have seen like, what happens when you stab the wife? can you beat the cop with the knife if you try it enough times? And stuff like that
But yes, it’s truly the most heart warming moment of the whole game. You can really feel the emotion. Having so many minds broken and repaired by on brave psychic.
I love how the Psychic Six (plus one) are shown to actually like one another. Like they were actually friends even apart from the couples. This whole scene of them getting back together is so heartwarming because we didn't need to see them get back together reluctantly to address the problem and learn to like each other all over again, no them getting over their baggage was why they CAN now be a team again.
Malik got *incredibly* lucky throughout all of Psychonauts 2, but no amount of luck can save you from Eggbeater and Potato Masher if you don't have the skill.
Yeah, while what she did was bad and led to an awful situation, she just misunderstood the situation; thinking that he was the mole (which other members suspected as Hollis ) he went to Truman. But when she realized her mistake, she recruited the others and helped Raz defeat Maligula. And after the fight and the credits, Raz and Lizzie confront Norma for her actions instead of acting like nothing happened which I gotta admit it I actually liked that.
Still kinda sad otto got shafted so hard in this game, he's only really relevant to give you the two devices and then unknownling letting you leave with helmets Brain.
