I’m pretty sure that at the end, Kelly, stays at the school because her life was pretty much based around being popular and she’s been so caught up in being this “queen bee” at the school that the moment that everyone breaks off of her and she loses her power over people, she feels like her life is over now, her popularity is gone, her “friends” aren’t under her biding, so she stays at the school because she believes she doesn’t belong with everyone else, and presumably dies. As for the ending, from what I can understand is that Lilith (pretty much crybaby’s guardian angel as you could say) whenever she comes through that door, it is the passageway to the afterlife, or at least since they are immortals, they can begin a new life (being reincarnated). For those times when Crybaby has asked to go with Lilith, she was pretty much asking to go to the afterlife because she didn’t want to live anymore with all that kept happening to her, she wanted to get released from her world, she wanted relief from her pain. So with that said, when they are finally able to go to the afterlife, they are all leaving this world behind, and that is when Crybaby starts to doubt if she really wanted to leave this world behind. She had a lot of painful experiences in this place, but she couldn’t help but feel like she didn’t want to leave her home. But in the end, I’m sure she decides to join everyone in the afterlife, and becomes reincarnated into who she is now in Portals. We shall see though how this story continues through this new movie that is soon to come out, and I am very excited for it!❤

@@iconicmasterbender Yeah Crybaby has said her name was Lilith in the movie, but it’s hard to catch since she talks about it pretty casually, but I’m sure she first mentions it at the beginning of the movie in her monologue. When she talks about her dream she says something along the lines of “a single voice told me ‘it is temporary’, what was her name again? I think it was Lilith-“

Now that I'm older, I understand Crybaby's hesitation with leaving. After all the pain and struggles of school, finally having the chance to leave feels wrong because of how familiar I've grown to the system after 13 years.

It's refreshing to see someone else who isnt her typical target audience (young adult women) enjoying this and not being so critical and appreciate her work as its meant to be portrayed. There's a lot of theories about the ending, especially with how Death sounded (not the MV but the audio with the sound of running and door closing), one of it that I like is that the door Lilith opened for them is for rebirth and reincarnation bcs it seemed like the ones with power have some sort of awareness of their past lives and living in another body later. Just to note though that Mel said that every song will have their own MVs (Void is planned for next or next two months) and a movie for Portals is set for 2024, since the script is done. She's apparently working more on funding the movie now so it does seem like the MVs will be more artistic and the movie will have a more plot-based thing following K-12. I was wondering if you'll react to CryBaby album too, since all the songs already has its own MV except the extra songs in the Deluxe ver.

maybe Lilith opened the portal for them because they had already gained the necessary experience and there was no longer any point in forcing them to continue living in this world, since they learned what they had to, so they went through the portal and were reborn

She lived all the experiences she had to live in this life, now they are parting to the next, but is she ready? Yes, she is! She's reborn in Death, that's why she emphasizes so much when she sings "Don't ever worry, I know it's morbid, but we all die one day." And "Death has come to me, kissed me on the cheek, gave me closure. Immortal by design, I'll be meeting you here every time." In her next life. ☺️

Kelly murdered her. The song at the end is called recess, and in class fight Kelly throws a paper that says “you at recess” and a dead stick figure. That shows that Kelly murdered her. Also after they are escaping, Kelly stays behind. That backs up the theory. Idk how she killed her tho lol. In portals aswell, people think that the reason Melanie now has 2 sets of eyes is because that crybaby and Angelita was reincarnated together. That would mean that Kelly killed them both. Also, when they are talking about what they were to each other in last lives, they say conjoined twins. That could also be a hint. Hopefully, it’ll all be explained in the portals movie. Fingers crossed!

And this is where her album Portals comes out after years! Melanie Martinez is my favorite music artist. I absolutely adore her and relate to a lot of her songs. There will be a film to portals coming out next year (2024) too.

I just binge watched all of your K-12 videos and I love your reactions! I love when people really give her music and art a chance and actually take the time to understand it. I’ve been listening to Melanie Martinez since I was 11 and am now 20 and still love and relate to her music. Crybaby was my middle school anthem, K-12 was my highschool anthem, and I know Portals is going to be an anthem throughout my 20s. I’m not sure if there’ll be a movie for portals but there are a few music videos. Either way, I’d love to see you react to the songs and lyrics. Evil is my favorite song off of that album, it’s so beautifully written and relatable

College years would have been lovely for this film. We'll always want closure. But to be honest, it ended where it needed to because everyone else chose the way out, and she chose to stay and still entertain us. A fantasy we wanted, but reality she chose.
