Hi Axle, thanks for your honest opinion. I think what might account for the "less energetic feel" are basically two things. First, the song is tuned down one and a half steps, since our singer doesn't have the same range as Bruce. The second thing are the drums. In the original, McBrain is "galloping" pretty much through the entire song (and along with him the guitars and the bass) which gives the song more energy. We made a conscious choice to discard that, and add more variation to the drum patterns to let the song breathe and give space to the heavy guitars and the synths. This resulted to a more heavy and atmospheric arrangement which might be lacking in other aspects compared to the original. Well, obviously we can't have it all ;) Anyway, like you said, we just wanted to offer a different perspective, not replace the original :)

I definitely felt that the drums had something to do with it, but not being a drummer, I didn't want to say that I knew for sure that was it. Also, I forgot to note how I really like the echoy, clean take on the intro to this song, I feel it really suits it well, as well as your vocalist(covering a song whose original is sung by a legend like Bruce and doing it justice is hard, but you nailed it). Thank you for responding to me by the way, it's rare to get to engage in discourse with the musician that made something you liked. I did only just discover you guys through this cover album being recommended to me, but I can say I'm definitely sold on your talent and certainly intend to check out more of your guys' work in the future.

Totally agree! Overall a very good cover, I like the addes synth track, but the cover loses a lot of flow because of the midtempo drumming. Especially in the chorus.

Not sure what you mean by 'futuristic'. It's certainly not a word that comes to mind when I hear the original song. But, in any case, you're right, we didn't go for a 'futuristic' feeling in our version.

But anyway, good cover. :)
