thanks for the nice tutorial.. really helped me on the pitch-env.... other people tend to over complicate this. i recommend not to add the transient shaper(transX) to the kick, i never seen anybody do that, it makes it plastic. its great as is just with little eq :)

Hi Andrew, I really like your content. I just began to design my kicks with Kick 2. I noticed an issue and wondered if you had the same or an explanation. When I design my kick with the midi plugin, the sound is awesome. Then when I export the .wav or the audio, I loose many of the energy of the sound. Have you encountered this ? Best regards

Great video man! Watching it made me think of a question that is kinda offtopic, but related: Ableton Live comes with really cool out of the box processors, such as EQ, Compressors, and so on. I always loved that toolset, but watching you work makes me wonder: Why do you prefer using external VST processors instead of Ableton's?

Hi, awesome tutorial! Couple of questions, 1) if the kick overlaps the first bass note does that not cause issues? 2) The processing you did after exporting the kick, could it not be done within the Kick 2 VST, rather than adding to it afterwards? Thanks!

Do you know the name of the drum layering plug in that is similar to KICK 2? There is another layering plugin that I came across awhile back that is like Kick 2 but seemed more powerful but I can’t recall the name ..

Hey, thanks so much for these videos. They are really v clear and incredibly helpful. However, May I make a request. This software (Abelton) as it is, is really really really daunting. It would greatly help if you can organize all your videos in a certain sequence. So people like me, that are trying to learn from it, have a sense of progression. I understand that these concepts dont quite have a particular order and they are applicable as needed for the project on hand, but a complete beginner like me doesnt know what he doesnt know, & a progression will make it a lot easier to understand and grasp. This will also help you grow your youtube channel cause once people like the progressive nature of the lessons, they will refer their friends to you. If I have to put it light heartedly, I am looking for Abelton live lessons put together like an IKEA furniture store. LOL Thank you. Your explanations are immaculate. !!!

I see you getting some kinds of random annoying clicks. From my experience, this is coming either from your amp or pitch env. but how do you fix them outside the vst ? I’ve tried waves click thing and it didn’t work

great video, i'd like to make a question though. When you process your kick, the vu meter is for the purpose of setting the volume levels so you can hear the difference when you apply corrections etc. When your kick is ready how do you gain back the volume for the actual mixing? Setting the kick -10-14db when processing it, cannot stand in the mix. I noticed that vu meters have something that is called nominal level (-6 / -24). Setting this in a place where the kick hits unity without messing with the sample and without clipping in the master really helped me to make adjustments and corrections to the kick in the actual mixing and at the right volumes. Is this a right way or I m just being dubious? The actual question that bumps me is why sould I turn my sample all the way down to work with and not keeping it at the level where i want to mix it? thanks!

it doesnt matter that your kick start from note G and finish to A#?????? i thing it have to be the same note
