More manufacturers need to do comparison videos like this for their product lines. Browsing a product catalogue for a single manufacturer shouldn't be confusing.

Also in US firing from folded-in stocks is allowed. All legality has to do with barrel length.

16 inches for rifle barrels, 18 inches for shotgun barrels, and 26 inches overall length for both. With our complicated gun laws in the US with Short Barreled Rifles and all the other laws there is exceptions and tax stamps (money) to get a Short Barreled Rifle. Oh. I was wondering why my Izhmash rifle featured some kind of mechanism inside that i have never seen on other AKs, making the rifle unable to shoot when the stock is folded. Because of that stock length law. Interesting.

Good guide! My only issue is that while I was installing my PT-1 stock, the connection between the adapter and the stock became loose and it’s extremely difficult to tighten once in the gun.

In France: C category (hunting, pump-action & bolt-action rifles): minimal total length 80cm and minimal barrel length 60cm. If it is below 80cm/60cm or if it is a civilian version of a military rifle, it is noted as a weapon in category B and need a special license quite hard to get.

I love the PT1 on my Saiga! In Austria we have a similar law but with a minimum length of 60cm for rifles and 90cm for shotguns. So shooting a regular length Ak with folded Stock is ok. Greetings to russia!

In Canada we have overall length laws, 26” for a semi auto, except Rim fire And we also have a barrel length law for pistols, must be 4.15” or longer And rifles (semi auto, except .22) need a barrel of 18.6” or longer if you want it to be non restricted (meaning if you want to shop anywhere other than a shooting range) Not all rifles can be considered non restricted We also have a 5 round magazine restriction for all centerfire semi autos and 10 round for pistols Yeah... sucks here

Hey Natasha thank you for this video. In Germany we are allowed to buy the original AK 103 (civilian version) with original muzzle break and folding stock. We are also allowed to fire the weapon with the stock folded and the minimum length of a rifle (long weapon) is 60cm (as a hunter). Due to stupid circumstances (embargo) russian companys are no longer allowed to sell those weapons to german gun shops. Keep up your good work.

Hello, My adapter plate does not line up with the pin hole for the stock on my rear trunion. The adapter is the right side for the pin (5.5mm) but obviously won't set in place because of the mismatch. Do I grind the other side if the plate to fit? Thank you.

Old comrade US of A, we as well have laws where rifle can't be shorter than certain length. But if you want to have a short barrel rifle, we can jump through a long span of hoops, paperwork and $200 tax stamp, 8 month wait to get approved, then we get our short barreled rifle, this goes with any regulated NFA item, suppressor, or transferable machine guns

how robust is the stock ? was it tested against recoil of gp25 UBGL ?

Arr I can't figure out if a PSAK GF3 has a 4.5 or 5.5 hinge. Palmetto sell a 4.5 hinge for the triangle folding stocks. But then in here she's saying that the 4.5 is for the AK74 - U etc. An that the 5.5 hinge is for Saiga and then AK47 model rifles.

I need some help. I’m trying to install the PT-1 on an ak receiver with folding capabilities. However, the 5.5mm lever seems to be too long when placed in correctly and the hole does not line up. Should I file down the “ramp” on the opposite side of where she files to allow them to line up?

In the U.S. the laws have more to do with barrel length. Less than a 16" barrel on a rifle is considered a short barrel rifle (sbr), and we have two options (technically one option is considered a pistol). Either pay a tax (which has a long wait time for approval), which make the rifle a registered item under our NFA laws. Another option is a have what is called a pistol brace, originally intended for people with a disability. It allows a shooter to fire a rifle one handed (or at least the was the intention). Our NFA laws on sbr's are kind of silly though. You can legally own all the parts for making a sbr, but legally can't instal the barrel until you've paid your tax and received your tax stamp, but you can get around this by installing a pistol brace, which ironically is designed in such a way that it can be shouldered, basically using it just like any rifle (that is actually legal and gets around having to pay the tax and register your sbr as an NFA item). Most people like myself, think our laws are idiotic and the NFA tax and restrictions just need to go away.

in my country, we can own machine guns and we have no barrel length restrictions like in some country but we do have this one strange law, you cannot ride with a gun slung on your person on a scooter, moped or motorcycle on a Tuesday and or use it as a spare/pike whilst riding, but only on Tuesday's O.o

In America 16 inch barrel unless it's a pistol or if you Form1 SBR it.

Basically, here in the US, 26" is the magic number for over all length. "Handguns" cannot be over 26" in length. If they are, they are then considered a "Firearm". "Rifles" and "Shotguns", with the stock unfolded, cannot be under 26" over all length. The "Rifle's" or "Shotguns" ability to fire with the stock folded isn't regulated, as long as length requirements are met when the stock is unfolded. If it is a collapsable stock, it must be measured when the stock is all the way collapsed. This is also in conjuction with barrel length regulations and what is fitted on the gun. "Handguns" can really be any gun under 26", with a projectile diameter of under .50 caliber, and with no stock or forward grip attached. A work around for this is you may have a "pistol brace". This is a device attached where a stock would be, but are designed to be fitted around your arm. There is no law saying you can't shoulder it like a stock though. For "Rifles" and "Shotguns", you may have a stock or forward grip attached, but the overall length must be over 26" on both types of guns, as well as "Shotguns" must have a barrel length of 18" and "Rifles" 16". Now for "Firearms" (guns with no stock, a barrel length of under 16", but an over all length of over 26") you may have a pistol brace attached, as well as a forward grip. Also "Firearms" can be made in shotgun calibers, but cannot be "Handguns" (so they cannot be under 26"). If you have a forward grip attached to a "Handgun" of under 26" in length, it is called an "AOW" (any other weapon) and requires a $5 tax and federal registry. Other than that, if your gun violates any other regulation I mentioned above, it is considered to be an "SBR" (short barreled rifle) or "SBS" (short barreled shotgun) requires a $200 tax and federal registry. Lastly, it all depends on what the manufacturer classifies it and sells it as. If a new gun is sold as a "Handgun" it cannot be changed to a "Rifle" or "Firearm" configuration without paying the SBR or AOW tax. If it is sold as a "Rifle" or "Shotgun" it cannot have the barrel shortened and stock removed to now be a "Firearm" or "Handgun", again without, the SBR tax. Now all of these laws are federal, and each individual jurisdiction has their own law you also must abide by. Meaning all of these laws can be complimented by state or city laws that would make ownership of some configurations impossible. It's all very stupid and confusing, especially considering that the punishment for violating ANYONE of these regulations can mean up to 10 years in prison and tens of thousands of dollars in fines and legal fees.

the thumbnail says this is a review, and i couldn't help but find that ironic. Zenitco reviewing the PT-1/1s is like coca cola doing a video about taste testing coca cola.

So actually the law with the stocks is the opposite to the one in the US. In the US they ask you to remove the stock/brace of some weapons so it's uncomfortable to shoot them. In Russia they tend to impede the concealability while in the US they impede the accuracy. Interesting how completely different views there are

Is this the manufacturer of this stock? And are they real for real $869 from one of their US distributors which in my 30yrs of gun collecting never heard of any of these shops nor do anyone I ask not about 2 spend near a grand from some shady looking shops like AKShop who never answers any email etc. Again for the price that's way more than any of my German made HK G3, PSG, G36 or Mp5 stocks.. No wonder I never see anyone with one, its over half the price of my Arsenal, DDI, Krebs or any of my 2 dozen AK's. Wish there are some reviews for this stock from reputable shops or sources but all the reviews are from this same company or the makers . I like the look and was going to use it for an AK SBR build.

Americas length laws are very dumb. You can’t have a gun with a barrel shorter than 16” unless you register it with the government. Most states do not have stock requirements
