I thought 3 gallons of oil for my 5.9 Cummins was a lot of oil. Childs play compared to the Cat. Looking forward to seeing her on the road in 2021.

It would be pretty cool if you did a wiring video just to see what it takes to make a computer controlled engine fire.

Maybe you should check on getting a controller and the wiring from a junk school bus. That’s the same setup on a Freightliner FS65 bus, a 3126 with a 2000. If I could get my hands on one I’d send to you... but we don’t have any of those in the junk pile right now!

it will have park, rev, and 3rd gear and will be in limp mode. and the castrol tranSynd 668 for 3 gallons is better stuff and is the replacement for the old tranSynd but that is still much better then the dextron 6 that gm uses. thanks for sharing

If the solenoids are not energised the 1000/2000 default to second.

Awesome rig. You should paint the valve cover black. It would contrast very well with the yellow block and make it look like modern CAT’s. Wish I had a CAT in my truck.

Needed a CAT 7155.. trans.. that my dad was the lead designer on that transmission, I might be biased.

Little guy is more exited than any of us. Borgensen for the steering shaft, half the price of a ford replacement and universal joints instead of a rag joint.

8 gallons for a meduim duty. I use 4 gallons in my 7.3 powerstroke. So that aint bad.

Look into a borgson steering shaft much better design and you can get them for considerably less than stock

Small steps Drew, it is better to have make sure you have your budget in place working especially with a family and as you can afford the luxuries like getting the beast finished do it properly and save money rather than doing it half assed It reminds me of an old joke 2 bulls standing on a hill noticing that the farmer left the gate open to the cows paddock, the young bull says to the old one hey let's race down and do a couple? To which the old bull says Nah son let's take our time and do the lot!! 🤔 You can still do the either free or time consuming jobs while saving do all the things you know that will be forgotten or put off till "later" once you get it back on the road , you will thank yourself in the long run Good luck with the car show Tony from Western Australia 🇦🇺

I believe the Allison 2000 is controlled by a stand alone controller mine is in a finned aluminum case mounted center rear to the bottom of my International 4200 cab - maybe you could get ahold of where you got the transmission they might have what you need.

It should go to limp with only reverse and 2 or 3 should work, but that's not the best way to drive it much.

Does your dipstick have a number on it? Would it be 167-2091V ? Bottom of the stick. Does it read correct? I have a3126b in a SuperCruzer which is the 22qt pan. It’s always showing overfill. Call Cat hotline they told me how to remark it but would not tell me what engine or oil capacity it was made for. Thanks

My truck holds 10 gallons. But you also get 30 thousand miles off an oil change too

You should of swapped the CAT that holds 55 gallons in the truck just to be way different

It will only have first gear and won’t shift it will push the fluid . Miss the drug fort lol

Man, been following you for a long time and hats off to all the hard work you’ve done on that truck! One thing to highlight, please use 15W-40, I know CAT DIESEL OIL ain’t cheap but Mobil makes it for us so you can buy their brand oil and save the CAT premium but for the love of God stick to 15W-40 your bearings will thank you later. Btw if you need specs for that engine just hit me up and glad to support your channel!
