I couldn't control the tears of happiness... Its my favorite jugalbandhi ever... Pandit Bhimsen Joshi is the best of Hindustani classical & Dr.Balamuralikrishna is the best of carnatic music.... Lovely...
Where and when can we see such healthy frendship in great people like this again.see how Balamurali gives respect to Joshiji even while singing. This jugal bandhi is a rare gift to music lovers.
Wow this is really amazing. I was listening to lot of western music. But these days I am exploring more about our own Invaluable Treasure..... Really these kind of music soothes a lot. Great job Prax keep uploading such Gems
Great collaboration resulting in this amazing music. BMK is God level, heavenly voice, bhimsen joshi equally good. Both of them enjoying and respecting each other!!
The people who disliked this probably have no understanding of what these two maestros and their accompaniments were doing -- innovation, improvisation and inter-mixing of the rivers of Carnatic and Hindustani
We are living abroad and like all Indians abroad the distance makes us clutch harder at our samskriti and culture which is why I try to give my son as much as possible . From when he was born I used Panditji to make him sleep ,but when he was around 1 and1/2year old ,to my utter amazement he started enjoying and listening to it instead of falling asleep . Since then he is really into music .
WOW i don't think i have ever seen a woman play mridagam before. job well done it is refreshing to see that women are still part of the percussioning world
Power of hindustani music...❤️❤️❤️ Bhimsen joshi sir one of my favourate hindustani classical singer.....He is a Guinness World Record holder of his" taan " portions"
This is what god must listen in heavens. Look at his.. emotions.. it is clear that Bhimsen was something different, lost like a child in a cosmic world.. I want to be free like him!
The height of a person will be measured with only his adjustment and compatibility with his immediate environment. Hats off....to both masters...great chemistry of understanding really...really it enchants audience...How spontaneously Joshi saab was rendering the karnatic notes...amazing...He is a true BHARATRATNA...
Amazing ,absolute magic.Even my 2 year old is transfixed by this and keeps asking for this video of two 'ajjas'. thank you very much for sharing this . Does anyone know if this concert is available for purchase? By the way Ajja means Grandfathe in Kannada
Carnataki Style feels so poor when we listen to Hindustani ... Somehow carnataki sangeet style is very repetitive and irritating ... sur modulation and Violin and mrudung adds even more irritation....
This is called music of heaven. OMG my body was hear but soule was in heaven. What a beautiful creation by God such wonderful singer we have seen in our era 🙏
No comparison at all. It is just like, Darbar of God, where by the Grace of Goddess Saraswati, these two Devtas are rendering their best before HIS GREATEST DARBAR.
want to agree with Mr Jagdish's comments - not only do we not comment on who is better, we want to feel very blessed and thankful to "Technology" for being able to watch these heavenly moments - pranams to both maestros..
A joint musical tribute to the Lord, offered by two equally mighty and great masters of Indian Classical Music! It is nothing short of heavenly. Both Hindustani and Carnatic traditions have been done so much justice by these maestros; the symmetrical beauty and genius of Carnatic improvisation and the emotional intensity and genius of the Hindustani improvisation. Awesome!
@ashyboy1324 absolutely, i am a fan of hindustani but the issue is that in carnatcic music the variety is stunning and yes BK kalpana swaras were outta the world. But frankly one must seen BJ in his prime. I guess he was more skillful and powerful. unfortunately most of his jugalbandis came when he was aging :)
What a great sight ! One has to take innumerable births to be able to see these two greats performing together. After hearing to them, no wonder, soul gets purified. I am indebted to prax.
We hear in this jugalbandi a fusion of Carnatak Music and Hindusthani Classical Ragas Kalyani and Yaman... BMK is singing 'Sangeetam' a famous Carnatak composition based on raga Kalyani with shuddha Ma BSJ is singing 'Shyam Bajaye' based on Yaman with teevra Ma Both are doing the taans in respective ragas.. a sublime effort
Loosely translated the bandish means: Today Shyam (Lord Krishna) is playing the flute With the dexterity of His own lips Yogis from the forest as well as wise men and commoners are mesmerized by his music..
Divine.. of course. Here is one even better, with better audio quality. Once again they are both divine, yet in this one Bhimsen simply levitates! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-D0mnFR2PCOk.html **Note - use good over-the-ear headphones, and listen with eyes closed... heaven!
Thanks for upload prax78.Two great masters showing national integration through music a lesson to be learnt by all.It is truely touching and amazing the way they enjoy eatch others talent.
This is what *great Indian culture* is and it will remain till end of the Earth......when people forget this culture this video will remind them about it.....!!! *Happy 73rd independence day to India*
one Mr. Ashvin Ramesh has commented on Pandit Bhimsen Joshi which shows his immaturity to comment on great musician of India, I suggest him not pass comment on greats like that as no is competent to, as this prograsm is not for comparison of greats, just take it as an entertainment. I want to emphasis here that the Award " Bharath Rathna itself excelled after Bhimsen Joshi got it.
Dear viewers, These types of jugalbandees are actually just a program or a concert to unite artists , but please don't compare anyone here. I also suggest the organisers of jugalbandees not to hold as it leads to comparisons and glorification of the viewers's favourites. , There is actually no scope for competitions here and in my personal view this serves no musical purpose or entertainment as both musicians are getting restricted due to interruption from other singer and the fluency gets lost.
+Jagdish Chandra Jamadagni , I agree with you, sir. But the pleasure that jugalbandhis give cannot be always expected otherwise. It has it's own way of mental harmony- providing power. More over it is our blessing that we get such an opportunity to reach the heavens with the greatest maestros of our time !
i dont know why they compare... bala murli is a legend...and bhimsen is not even human when it comes to classical vocals..... if you wanna compare them just compare the old 1960-70s ...not even bala murli but no one even close to pandit ji.... he reached the god level in singing.
