this is the rageshree I heard about from my guruji and thought it would be so amazing to hear it and now due to the sheer generosity of Subrata da , I can hear it. Thank you !
It's probably sacrilege to say this, but although I love Nikilji's music generally, I find this abhogi kind of annoying... the high-pitched "fwee" at the end of each phrase for long sections doesn't convey his usual gravity. Not that he wasn't entitled to play something more lighthearted once in a while. :D This way of achieving that just doesn't work for me, I have to say. That said, in my opinion, he was the best sitarist in recorded history.
