It is actually irrelevant what you or I (or anyone else for that matter, other than Luke himself) think/thought about it (I honestly would have recommended a different stance if asked). So you think it is horrible to support someone in a way that does not encourage a state of complete hopelessness? In all likelihood, it was his fighting attitude that gave him significantly more time than was initially predicted, whether you can accept that or not. Had Luke been in complete denial as to the seriousness of his situation and probable outcome, your thinking would then be applicable - but that is not the case here. As for such conditions being out of our control, my life experience indicates that is complete and utter hogwash. Strength of spirit and attitude is more important than any other factors, including statistics, based on my history. My suggestion: You do you just as Luke chose to - it is not our place to tell anyone else what is right FOR THEM.
There is more to intimacy than sex. Holding each other close is much more important. The way you treat each other shows more about love and commitment. Sending love and respect to you and your family x

You are a very sweet and virile man. It is so brave of you to take on this subject...no one EVER does. Please don't put the pressure on yourself to pleasure your wife in an old way that will cause you pain. SHE DOES NOT WANT THAT. When my husband was quite ill with cancer , he felt as you do. Our younger years had been very hot...very active. We decided that we were trading "heat" for "sweet" and continued to show our love in that way...nearly to the end. It's the love, man. (ANN)

The morphine can impede your s3x drive too. I worked with H addicts and they have no s3x drives whatsoever..it’s depletes the hormones and seretonin production. Don’t worry about it. It's horrible how much pressure men put on themselves even when fighting CANCER,in pain and on all kinds of medication especially opiates but still worrying about are you a man. Men don't talk about it all you hear is "i ruined her"and i hate that saying man! Thanks luke for all your videos

Hi Luke, my wife has the end stage of Multiple Sclerosis which I don’t tell most of my Closest friends but here we are on RU-vid 😀 Everything is UP for discussion so to speak 😳. Her doctor has upped her pain meds from Morphine MST tablets & the Oramorph have both been changed to: 50 micrograms of Fentanyl Patches changed every 3 days. They’ve now got her on Oxycodon which is twice the strength of the same Oramorph dose. That helped Woody Woodpecker mutually 😀. But now the end stage is not that far off she’s now made as comfortable as possible on pain relief. I hope you stay as pain free as Possible and all the best. Jamie 😀👍🏻

Just to let you know that nothing kills your sex drive more than opioid medication , which I’m sure you must have various forms of for pain . I worked in pharmacy and have spoken to many patients who have mentioned this . Best wishes .
I'm actually glad that someone can talk about it because a lot of people want. But you can tell that you both love one another. It may be weird coming from a woman and I do not have cancer but I don't even think about sex anymore I think it's because menopause but I do not even want to be touched. Good thing is when your partner actually truly loves you they will understand and it will not matter.

Luke, Thank you for discussing this untold part of life. You are not alone. My spouse is disabled from a severe spinal disk loss. They also have huntch back and scoliosis. Years ago, we were extremely active from the 80s to maybe last 5 years. Like you, they tried, and I could see the pain in their eyes and body language every time. For me, I got to the point of feeling I was going to hurt them. It was a block for us both. So where we are at is we ask each other if we are OK. If it becomes uncomfortable, we use other creative means LOL. But it's not easy to find a Grove, but being creative extends our sexual ideas. We found intimacy is many things, and it doesn't have to be standard. I'm thinking outside the box on the good days. On our off day's we kick back cuddle, watch a movie shoot the shit. Sending hugs!

@iwillnotbedefeated you are welcome. Life is always full of twists and turns. I'm going on the 22nd for a biopsy to confirm thyroid cancer. They found 2 over inch TIRADS 5 solid nodule. I have a 3d mammogram tomorrow with ultrasound diagnostic for some hard lumps on my left breast. Then, my cat scan for the mass in my upper abdomen. Hopefully, it's just in my thyroid, but we will see. Another curve for us to figure out. I've not even shared this with my friends and only a few family. Any tips on shaking the exhaustion? I can handle the shortness of breath and the lumps all over, but coffee isn't cutting it. Any tips on things I should be eating or not eating. I know cut down sugar and carbs. This is all new. I literally just got my thyroid results a few days ago. Hope today finds you okay. Sending hugs
i would check your vitamin d i have been taking high dose vitamin d for 10 years i take a dose every 2 weeks and i have not caught the flu since that time not counting all the other things it has helped me with also there is research on vitamin d and cancer and even on covid there are also plenty of videos online including the miracle of high dose vitamin d maybe check into it
