What did you do to set the EQ & gain o. Your mixer? Plus where you set the volume dail on the unit.

8 hours of battery life. He uses them for 4 hour gigs then changes the batteries. He told me he can do two full concerts without changing the batteries

While this looks like a nice unit, it appears that it may be unusable in some major cities. The frequencies it uses (538-600MHz) correspond to TV RF channels 25-35. Literally every one of those channels is in use in Dallas/Fort Worth for an active TV broadcast. If you're at a fixed location in DFW, maybe you'll be lucky and be able to use one or more of the mics. But if you need to use it at multiple locations around the area, whether or not it's usable at a given location is likely to be hit/miss.
