If you connect a mic, does the HDMI carry the audio? The video suggest it does, but the manual doesn't have HDMI listed. Thanks!

Can I run the ptz with 200 feet optical hdmi cable. The media room of my church is about 200 feet to the stage. Thanks!!

It could work, but you may be better served with SDI cabling which is generally used for long camera runs.

You could also try an HDMI extender over CAT5 cables

Why does the system come by default with its NTP server set up for cn.ntp.org.cn, which is in China?
@PTZOptics
@PTZOptics 6 месяцев назад
Hi Laura, The default NTP server setting in any device, including PTZOptics cameras, is usually chosen by the manufacturer based on various factors, such as the location of the majority of their customer base, the reliability of the NTP server, or other logistical reasons. It's not uncommon for devices to have a default NTP server that may not be in the same geographical location as the user. If the default NTP server is set to one located in China (cn.ntp.org.cn), and you are located in a different region, it's generally advisable to change this setting to a local or more regionally appropriate NTP server to ensure accurate time synchronization. This is especially important for applications where precise timing is crucial, such as in video production and broadcasting. To change the NTP server setting on your PTZOptics USB camera, you would typically access the camera's network settings through its web interface or configuration software. There, you should be able to specify a different NTP server that is more suitable for your location. If you need specific instructions on how to change the NTP server settings on your PTZOptics USB camera, or if you have any further questions, I recommend consulting the camera's user manual or contacting PTZOptics customer support for detailed guidance.

How do you get it to power though POE
@PTZOptics
@PTZOptics 10 месяцев назад
You would need a camera with POE and a NDI license. This video is just for a USB camera. Check out our Move SE cameras. They are our most affordable, but you need to upgrade to NDI. LINK: ptzoptics.com/move-se/

@PTZOptics I just purchased the camera! I know it supports far-end camera control through Zoom. Is this feature supported through gotomeeting too? If not, do you know how I can control the camera remotely (through the internet, not in the same local network)? Thank you!
@PTZOptics
@PTZOptics 6 месяцев назад
Congratulations on your new camera purchase! Regarding your query about far-end camera control, the ability to control a camera remotely varies depending on the camera model and the video conferencing platform being used. As of my last update in April 2023, let's explore your options: Far-End Camera Control in GoToMeeting GoToMeeting Support: As of my last update, GoToMeeting does not natively support far-end camera control like Zoom. This means you cannot directly control the camera's pan, tilt, and zoom functions from the GoToMeeting interface. Alternative Methods for Remote Camera Control Camera's Built-In Web Interface: If your camera has a web-based interface and supports remote access, you can control it over the internet by accessing this interface. This would typically involve setting up your network for external access to the camera (such as port forwarding in your router) and using the camera’s IP address. Third-Party Remote Control Software: There are software solutions available that can facilitate remote camera control. These applications might require setup on a local computer that is connected to the camera. Software like PTZOptics Camera Control Software or similar can be used, and you can remotely access this software via a remote desktop application. VPN for Secure Access: For a more secure setup, consider using a VPN to connect to the network where the camera is located. Once connected to the VPN, you can access the camera as if you were on the local network. This method is more secure than exposing your camera directly to the internet. Steps for Remote Access Setup Configure Network Settings: Assign a static IP address to the camera within your local network. Set up port forwarding in your router to the camera’s IP address and port. This allows remote access to the camera. Access Camera Remotely: Use the camera’s external IP address and port to access its web interface remotely, or connect via VPN to access it as if locally. Use Remote Desktop Software: Set up a computer that remains on and connected to the camera on the local network. Use remote desktop software to access this computer from a remote location, from which you can then control the camera. Considerations Security: Opening ports and allowing external access to your camera or network can pose security risks. Ensure you have strong passwords and consider additional security measures like VPNs. Network Bandwidth: Ensure both the local and remote sites have sufficient internet bandwidth for smooth video streaming and control. Latency: Be aware of potential latency issues, especially when controlling the camera over a long-distance internet connection. Conclusion While GoToMeeting does not support far-end camera control natively, you can achieve remote control of your camera through network configuration for external access, using third-party software, or via a secure VPN connection. Ensure you understand the security implications and network requirements when setting up remote access.

Does this camera have to be connect with an IP address or can you just hook up with usb or hdmi cable and it works?
@PTZOptics
@PTZOptics 4 года назад
You can use it with USB or HDMI without an IP connection. You may decide to connect it to your network later or never at all. The IP connection does help with the Smartphone app or integrations with software like OBS and vMix.
