This song has been a defining track in my life. I listened to it every night after a long day at the library during law school as a way to reset my brain. It was an aural massage that never lost effect. I did well, and honestly owe my success in law school to this track.
It's a truly stellar track, and I've never really found another to compare. The only piece I can think of that has a similar effect on my mind is John Adams' Phrygian Gates.
@@brucehunter8235 Thank you for those recommendations. I would suggest a track myself by Jeff Greinke called Happy Isles (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O4OfHPTbKBM.html ). It's a more organic sound with ethnic drums, and a very different style, but it also puts me in a similar place.
@@brucehunter8235 I highly recommend Wolfgang Voigt's Gas project. Tracks like: Gas - Untitled 2 (Gas LP) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7Zb0NsUU8hY.html
This was also a seminal track in my lifelong journey into electronic music when I first heard it in 2002. A couple others I heard at the same time which shaped me: Irresistible Force - Natural Frequency Arovane - Silicad Check them if you haven't heard already.
I used to work with the person who designed the Vertical Form record covers. I used to look over my shoulder frequently to see what cool stuff she was working on, then I would go round the corner to Sister Ray Records on Berwick Street and buy the music a few weeks later.
a warm breeze, the late afternoon sun beating down on you. looking out at sunlight rippling off an expanse of ocean, you have to squint to be able to see anything so you just close your eyes.
It's hard to think Vertical Form is chasing up copyright violations like they are Disney, but neverless songs keep being deleted. I try to keep my music uploads to stuff that's relatively obscure but of high quality just to keep the music in circulation. Beautiful tracks like this deserve to be listened to.
Thanks for posting this! Stellar chillout tune. Love the recommendations in the comments, so here's another: Leif - Loom Dream (2019). Similar immersive ambient bliss.
