Public Land Day 33: Buck Fight, Still Hunting With a Bow | The Hunting Public

November 19th - Sean Fahrendorf and Zach Ferenbaugh still hunt a piece of public land in hopes of seeing a big 8 point they saw the day before. On the way to the location they see several big bucks and they even see two of those bucks fight. Early in the hunt they almost get a shot at a mature buck and continue to sneak close to bedded bucks throughout the day.

I had the same encounter in the woods while filming for created outdoors. Small buck at 5 yards walked right up to us. Holding the camera was tough without being seeing

Guys. There is a Secondary Rut. And even a very late Rut. Does here in Mississippi are bred anywhere from Middle of December until February!!!

I love halls hunts I've crawled up on does in the bed with 2 of my sons with me took bout 2 hours to get to her and bout 30 minutes to be able to draw at bout 7yds great job young men

Great content guys. Do you think the mature bucks moving later in November would also apply to states when gun season starts around nov15th every year? Or would this suppress that movement. I use all my vacation before the 15th and am wondering if I am missing the party.

Yes, even into the first week of December. Gun pressure will suppress movement in certain areas but using it to your advantage can really pay off. If you find an area of thick cover that isn't hunted for several weeks, deer will pile in there-including lots of does. Mature bucks know this and will move through there looking for the last doe.

from 13:26 - 13:39... There is a buck in the foreground (the one that is looking at you) and above him to the left in the background behind the tree is another really good looking buck walking/feeding. Did you guys see him initially, or just the six point? Pretty incredible area to see so many bucks in one morning! Love the videos guys. Thanks for all the hard work and hours put in to making them happen!

Incredible call out. I had to go back and watch this a couple of times. The buck your speaking of is the only buck I saw initially. I was shocked when I saw there was a buck much closer looking right at the camera. Awesome video guys.

Wear orange to bow hunt?? Every state is different but most don't require that

Orange is required if it's during gun season. In TN we have youth gun weekend and an elk draw hunt during bow which requires us to wear orange during bow season.

Alright. What gives? Y’all say “public “ land but what’s the catch? You got to do so many hours of work to earn a zone area or what? There is no way you can do this with highly pressured deer. Love ur videos and tactics though.

Michael T got to learn to get to the spots others dont get to i tend to be either 100 yrds from the walk in zone because who hunts that close. Or i got 3-4 miles in sometimes more if theres a canoeable area. Ive seen monsters in both areas and i always get meat in the freezer(doe)

This is %100 public land. Anyone with an Iowa license can hunt here, bow or gun.
