I rarely comment but I have to say - THANK YOU ! Incredible work and incredibly helpful ! I spend a day reading - made no sense, listened to your video and all SUNK IN, keep up the good work, thank you so very much !!!
Brilliant.... after my first lecture on Judicial review, I completely got confused with the subsequent lecture. But your short over view has clarified my confusion. Thank you
I've just come across your channel. Thank you for your video on judicial review, you explain things so well and you are easy to listen to and follow :-) Will definitely continue to check out your videos. Thank you for taking the time to make them :)
Thank you sosososososososo much I’ve learned everything I need to in 20 mins and learnt nothing from my 2 hour lectures. You’re acc amazing thank you soooo much. You’re fully appreciated by EVERY law student 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Thank you very much, this was brilliant. I hope you continue making more and more videos. However note that in the Wednesbury Case the CA ruled in favour of the Corporation and showed judicial restraint. So they didn't consider the decision to be unreasonable. Cheers!
I have been listening to your lectures on Public Law for several weeks now. I find your lectures very useful in understanding Public Law. You pick out the important areas and it serves as an excellent form of revision. You are a wonderful teacher, Prof Cleaver. Hope you would continue to provide more lectures on Criminal Law, Contract Law, English Legal System and Public Law. Thank you, & Best of Wishes! - Anba
I don't normally comment on videos. I have to thank you for the videos you made and are making. Your free movement of goods really helped me in exam today. I totally aced it purely because of you. I was thinking to message you about doing video of judicial review, illegality and other public law topics as i have exam coming up. I hope you have time to cover public law soon. So i can ace the exam again. Once again i really appreciate you time and effort. You're awesome.
I found this video really informative and easy to follow. You explained each concept very well and provided good cases for each point that you made. I have my public law and human rights exam tomorrow so thanks for the help!
I have been trying to understand this topic for months and all it takes is for you to explain it in 20 mins and it all clicks into place. You are amazing, my degree appreciates it!!!!
I'm so glad I found your videos, even if it is just before my last first-year exam but I feel like your videos are about to become a staple for second year hahah
when you realize that you're not the only one with a dreadful lecturer -- if i had found out about your videos at the beginning of the year (instead of the evening before the final) i would've actually loved public law... thanks
This is a great video! Just a quick note in relation to reasons, I thought no general duty to give reasons exists though there are many exceptions to this in the common law?
Hi. I am new to judicial review, but what I am wondering is what is the grounds of review? Is it illegality, irrationality and procedural impropriety? Where does proportionality fall in?
I live in Alberta Canada and I would love to see an example of a judicial review as I’m working on one for a client fighting compensation after refusing to do a CAnadian C-spine rule exam which left them permanently injured
Hi Marcus are you still doing law lectures? I'm looking for more info on Judicial reviews and it's fit within UK constitution? Am finding aspects very confusing!
Cheers so much for this mate, honestly I’ve been stressing so hard for my public law exam but the concise simple framework of an exam problem answer has taken some of the nerves off
This is the page you should be only upon and stay off a page that you so had the audacity to comment about the word 'black' being used....and i too am an ex law student
Such a great lecture! Is there any chance you can give a tutorial on structuring exam essay questions? Or just generally how to structure answers, sometimes I fulfill all the relevant information for an essay but the way I approach it pushes me back a few marks.
do you believe that the Judicial review in the UK establishes the right balance between protecting qualified rights in the ECHR and facilitating their exceptions?
if your client loses his home as a result of a personal injury spinal stenosis; cervical and lumbar how can you regain the value of the home 12 years after the automobile accident from the insurance company?
Hi Marcus, quick question can a subordinate legislation be declared incompatible with the ECHR? Or does it only apply to primary legislation? Thank you for the videos they are very helpful :)
Subordinate legislation is normally just struck down by the courts but a declaration can be made if the primary legislation it is made under prevents removal of the incompatibility -- s. 4(4) HRA98
im confused about the Daly case, u said the ECtHR challenged against homosexuals in the army and that it was successful in Europe. Therefore able to bring a case for judicial review. but i thought Daly is about the random searching of prisoners cells, unauthorised.
