Puebla is perhaps the most historical and heroic region of Mexico. Some facts to better understand what Puebla is, the city was founded in 1531 only for Spaniards Puebla de los รngeles (the first in America). Since its foundation it grew so much that it began directly to compete with the cdmx (Pue it has the largest historical center of mx with more than 2000 historical monuments) in this city have passed many important events: in independence was the last to sign the treaties and the first capital to be liberated 1847 was besieged by the us army ( and had a us governor) 1862 was the scene of the battle against French army (the famous May 5), 1863 the French return and besiege the city for months where it was almost completely destroyed (in the French cemetery of the city there is a monument for the heroes who lost their lives more than 11 thousand people died) i 1867 Porifrio Diaz liberates Puebla from the Europeans (it is our day of victory April 2) 1910 the Serdan brothers started a Mexican revolution in Puebla (you can visit his house in the center) Puebla tried to separate from Mexico 3 times, in 1823, 1828 and 1868) This is where the corn and avocado came from, (mole poblano, cemitas, tacos al pastor, tacos arabes, molotes, chalupas, rompope (and we share the mezcal with oaxaca) the chile in nogada(the colors are in honor of the trigarante flag, NOT the Mexican flag it was the cradle of wine, cider in the new Spain Talavera (it is a craft) is originally from here, now it is also a world heritage site, Puebla has 3 declared world heritage sites, the historic center, the Talavera, the Tehuacan Valley, the Palafoxiana Library (the oldest in America) is a memory of the world by UNESCO, Also here is the oldest operating theater on the continent, the main theater and the largest pyramid in the world in Cholula The typical feminine costume is the china poblana (it is the image female from mexico) the chinaco that is the ancestor of the charro are from here In this city were born great characters in the history of mx as Gilberto Bosques (the schindler poblano), in addition to former presidents, singers (like the vocalist of mana, Fer Olvera), actors and actresses poets, athletes and even youtubers. The best known Luisito Comunica. Even now, the shield of the Spanish crown remains on the facade of the cathedral, it is very rare to see the coat of arms of Mexico on any facade. welcome to puebla, a la naciรณn poblana.

I'm hoping to move to Puebla by the end of this year, not to retire, but to work as a freelance illustrator. I'm so excited as nowhere has made me feel more at home than Puebla. Every time I watch videos of Puebla, it brings back so many memories. By the way, do you remember that place you went to in the video where you are overlooking the city at sunset @7:15, next to the cathedral with the volcano Popocatepetl in the background? Was that a restaurant? It looks so lovely and I'd like to find it! :)

Vagabond - I have lived briefly in Mexico City (2013/14), I am interested in Puebla as a place to live, but I need a place that's Cultured, and Supportive of the Arts. I am a Pianist/Composer, Electronic Musician and Photographer. I'm an American living Philadelphia. I have lived in Lisbon, Barcelona, and Berlin - I love the first 2, and yet...Mexico has something incredibly Vibrant, and almost Surreal, and that's why I LOVE Mexico! Do you think Puebla would be a Good place for me? CDMX is Awesome! but...It's OVERWHELMING! Your Opinion would be most Welcome. Thank You.

An unskilled worker can make 5 times as much money in the USA. That is why they come north. But retirees aren't worried about wages. They just enjoy the low cost of living and the beautiful culture in Mexico. People would rather work in high wage countries, USA, EU, Japan ... but when it comes time to relax, they want to live somewhere warm and beautiful with low cost of living.

David - I live in Philadelphia. Imagine if someone made an HONEST Travel video of Philly - that included even 3, or 4 of it's Horrifically Violent, Impoverished, and Destitute Neighborhoods! - and there are many more than 4! This can be said about nearly EVERY Large American City! I lived in Mexico City in 2013/14 - in 2 of the trendiest areas: La Condesa, and Roma Norte. They were incredibly Beautiful, and SAFE! - more so than Lisbon, Portugal, and Barcelona, Spain - where I was Attacked, and mugged a couple of times! Same in NYC - where I lived! Truth be told - you take your chances whenever you wander through almost any City at Night! Apparently, Puebla is safer than Mexico City, and the cities of Queretaro, San Luis Potosi, Aguascalientes, and Merida (THE 2nd Safest City in ALL of the Americas! Quebec City being #1) - even more so! Try not to be a judgemental Gringo about Mexico. Do some REAL Research, and exercise Caution, and Common Sense. Mexico is far from Perfect, but if you're THAT Concerned about Safety - there is Always New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and that Incredibly EXCITING Country of Iceland! LOL!!!

Do you think it would be better to remove both of us from the videos or just her? I have heard both ideas from different people. "Just show us the places." and "Why does she have to be in every picture?" Thanks for the feedback. Dan
