We visited the beautiful town of Puerto Mogan in the south of Gran Canaria. Come along with us while we walk around the town, the beach and harbour with 4K cameras and our 4K Drone for some amazing views of this lovely place. Enjoy!

Glad you liked it. Friday is market day, and the time that most people visit Puerto de Mogan, but the market is huge, it spans the length of the town and gets very crowded so it's much nicer to visit on any other day. If you also love markets, go twice! if you are staying in Puerto Mogan it has a very relaxed chilled out ambience after day trippers have gone.

The main resorts are Puerto Rico, Playa del Ingles and Maspalomas. There are other quieter options. You will find everything from luxurious all inclusive hotels to self catering apartments, villas for rent, and room only. It is cheaper to eat and drink out in the Canary Islands than it is in most of mainland Europe. Typical main course in a restaurant will range from under €10 (pizza, chicken with pepper sauce, curry etc) to about €22 (large T-bone steak, quality fish and seafood dishes) Paella is about €12-€15 per person. It is common to find restaurants offering 'menu del dia' which will give you a choice of several starters, main courses and a sweet. Sometimes it also includes a beer, sangria or glass of wine and costs around €10 per person for the three course meal. The prices will depend on the location to some extent, expect to pay a bit more at the harbour. Eating at the beach is cheap. Large beer varies from €1.50 to €3.50 in most places. Cocktails €5-€8 ,cheaper in happy hour(s). 1 litre home made Sangria around €12. Prices in Puerto Rico are around 15-20% less than Playa del Ingles. Faro Maspalomas is more upmarket so prices are a bit higher but you can still get a good meal for around €12. Go out of the resorts into the Spanish towns and it will be considerably cheaper. Taxis are the cheapest in Europe. The public bus service is good, cheap, covers the entire island including the little villages inland and is easy to understand which bus goes where. For example there is a bus from Maspalomas direct to the Capital Las Palmas which runs every hour and the 40 minute 55Km journey costs €5.50. Actually for residents the buses are free for everyone of any age. You get a residents bus card and put some credit on it. If you use the bus more than 14 times in a month then all the journeys are free, including the first 14 ,and this covers journeys anywhere on the entire island.
