Spent an amazing week in the Amazonas Puerto Narino on the Colombian side.
The private guide was Leo a native local guide who knows everything about the surrounding nature. After 4 daytrips with him, and I can't recommend him enough for everyone visiting Puerto Narino.
First day a quick night tour, explored the rainforest for like 6-7 hours scorpions, spiders, snakes, frogs and many more.
The second daytrip was a local community in Peru where I learned about their lifestyle, tried different local fruits and watched sloths, even saw one with a baby.
The third day was the best for bird watching and swimming with dolphins (even the pink once) and it was extraordinary. Leo is really friendly and helpful, we don't speak Spanish but I still could understand everything or communicate with Google Translate. The biggest difference was watching other groups stopping in the middle of nowhere and jumping to the water without dolphins around, while Leo was chasing the dolphins for the best experience. We saw dolphins every day, even the pink once.
On the forth day he showed his favorite and secret place, where a lot of caimans and anacondas supposed to be, unfortunately the weather was to hot so they were hiding. After hours of searching with the drone we continued with piranha fishing, which was also a bit unlucky since Leo was the only one who caught something and it was just a baby piranha.
Extra points for Puerto Narino:
You can watch dolphins all day even from the port.
You can have local grill like Piranha, Caiman, other fishes, meats.
People are really friendly and trying to help wherever they can.
THE BEST HOTEL IN THE WORLD IS Cabañas Alto del Aguila got friends with the monkeys, parrots, owl and other kind of animals.
