I’m from Puerto Rico. The curfew has been on and off since the beginning of the pandemic. Its was implemented again due to the high amount of tourists coming to the island. This has caused an increase in COVID cases reported, and our hospitals don’t have the capacity to treat all those that come in for treatment. So the government is trying to control somewhat the movement of people to avoid more cases.
Yes we knew and respected the reason why there was a curfew, we just didn’t know about it ahead of time so it was a disappointment to arrive at the hotel and be faced with this information. Of course we respected it and just tried to make the best of it but I also wanted to put this vlog out to let ppl know what’s going on there.
@@RavenElyseTV you put this blog out for content.. You stated in the video about how you're trying to be as safe and considerate for others as well but if you were, you would've just stayed home. Enough with the bullshit.
I love visiting Puerto Rico! Travel tip: Never ever plan for anything less than a week for international trips. You will always feel rushed, especially when traveling in a large group.
I agree! I went for 7days with my family and had ZERO plans lol and it was the most relaxing vacation ever which was the point. We ate good food, soak up some sun by the beach, sight see, and SLEEP in every morning.
@@user-lq1df6zu3h go on yelp & other travel apps . Find the top 10 restaurants & avoid them. Those places are usually tops due to how "American" or European the experience was. It's driven by the pallet of the largest group of traveller's. Example: one of the top restuarants in Ocho Rios is an Italian restaurant. 😐
I’m Puertorican, born and raised. My family is still over there. The problems they’ve had with tourists and covid is why I haven’t visited since covid started. Dying to go, but gonna wait until everything is back to normal. You guys should really go back once everything is ok, because PR is absolutely amazing.
ANNND most of them only go to San Juan and touristy parts of the island, whenever me and my family go we always stay in the mountains close to my family, or at the family ranch we have up there
For everyone going through a hard time here is a quick verse | “the pain that you’ve been feeling now can’t compare to the joy that is coming” - Romans 8:18. Don’t forget that God loves you sm and everything you’re going through will get better 🤍💫.
Wait did anyone else notice how creative Raven was with the thumbnail. She put her arm through the “U” .. now that’s when you’re dedicated to making your product look it’s best 👏🏾👏🏾
Not only are they faking it. Many of them find something stupid to be jealous of. Hang around people you want to be like, that support you in every way shape and form. Hard to find but stay prayed up and be careful of your choices there are vultures out there.
Honestly 3 days is not enough time when traveling overseas especially when you can do a lot of that stuff (kayaking, zip lining, jet skis, etc) literally anywhere. I know y’all have already gone on the trip and been there done that but maybe just find things that are specific to that country that it’s known for and do that particular thing so it’s more memorable and that way you have more down time and don’t feel so rushed and have to be on a timed itinerary. Or if you’re like me and like itineraries literally put in time for relaxation!! Just a thought from someone who travels a lot.
Girl you killed every look. I love everything about this video. The travel organization, the LOOKS ,the LOOKS ,the aesthetics... the music... the vibe! .... it's the everything for me sis!!!(sorry about the actual mishaps )
Raven is literally one the THE most dedicated RU-vidr and an AMAZING mom! forever loving your dedication you put in to every aspect of your life! I’m here for it all!
So sad to hear that you only enjoyed 40% of your trip 😕 I guess different parts of the world are handling it differently. I want to Cancun by myself on a whim last month and I had the best vacation ever. Karaoke night(which I won - I have a video on my channel if you wanna see), swimming with dolphins, clubs, island hoping, boat rides, packed restaurants but all the while very safe. I’m going back very soon that’s how much fun I had and safe I felt. Not to mention they literally cleaned the mic behind everyone, had mic covers after each person performed a song and made us sing through our mask. They had full body scanning temperature checks in the entry way and automatic sterile cleaning machines every 15 minutes. Try Cancun if you want a good vacation during this time!
@@alisecrittendon8322 I felt so safe. No men were pushy, didn’t get tricked on, wasn’t disrespected. I have people who were on vacation with family attaching to me making sure I was safe the duration of certain excursions. Everyone was friendly. I plan to do it again.
In true Virgo spirit.....no need to be so hard on yourself Raven. You did the best you could vlogging despite things that were out of your control. I loved the video because you did it any way!
I'm a registered nurse and I understand needing a vacation, trust me... I've been working on covid units for months now. I think it's super important to be educated about what the vaccination does, it does not stop you from spreading COVID or even getting COVID. You can still get covid and be fully vaccinated. What the vaccination does is prepare your body to fight COVID. So if you do get it, and you're vaccinated, then you will not get as sick as you would be without the vaccine. I've been vaccinated since the end of 2020, and I personally do not feel completely safe traveling. Everyone is grown and can make their own decisions, but I think when you have a large audience you need to be educated about where you're going, and the risk your taking, and how you're putting others at risk as well.
Age is gorgeous! She's so cute and quirky, I love her! Also that yellow swimsuit on that deep chocolate skin?! That was a blessing 🙌🏿🌻 I'm praying for Puerto Rico and India during this devastating and complicated time...sending love and hope to all of us trying to figure out how to survive and thrive
@@ksharvey231 Yes. Idk what it’s gonna be like in June but you can google “curfew hours in Jamaica” it will take you to the government’s website where you can see all the updates before coming.
I promise Puerto Rico is so much fun, but you can only do so little when covid’s a thing. Come back after the pandemic!! I assure you you’ll love it! When we can have places operating normally, the party never ends!
I mean yes. The thing though is, from watching this video they weren’t staying in the best area for what they wanted to do. That doesn’t excuse the hotel but kind of explains it. That was an airport hotel. Airport hotels are never the best. It’s not labeled an airport hotel but I’ve been to San Juan a few times and never saw this hotel. In Condado tons of hotels are near each other so I thought it was odd and googled it. This hotel is less than 15 minutes from the airport. It’s in a beautiful location and is a high end kind of hotel but hotels that close to the airport are always a little janky because people don’t generally stay long. You stay there because you’re going to the airport. I also think that was why they felt so rushed. They were too far from Old San Juan, the rainforest, all of the things they seemed to want to do were far from this hotel so they spent a lot of their time getting places. Still doesn’t excuse the hotel and I’m so glad they got the room changed but I think the person that planned this trip didn’t research as well as they could have. They had to leave the hotel to do all the activities including jet skiing and snorkeling. For a 3 day trip nothing should be very far from where you’re staying. Your hotel should be as close as you can get to everything you want to do. In this case there are hotels and resorts on the beach that are walking distance to Old San Juan.
@@leb251able I’ve actually been to the hotel it’s beautiful. The thing is they have 3 different room options guest rooms, suites, and villas. They stayed in the guest rooms If they wanted a luxury hotel room they should’ve stayed in the oceanfront villas which are a little pricier but def worth it!
Raven you have a great personality and your videos are extremely fun to watch but your house is absolutely phenomenal. Im listening to you but I cannot stop looking at your house. Its truly beautiful and you deserve it. You can honestly tell that you are such a sweet and kind person and I just love your creativity. The fact that you were able to assist with the exterior and interior design is absolutely AMAZING. Thank you again for this vlog and bringing us on this journey with you. Hope you had a great trip!
Glad you had a chance to get away with friends. Everyone looked beautiful! For you next trip, I would suggest Mexico...like Cancun or Cabo as they are lighter on the restrictions. Just got back and had a blast, and there were good safety protocols in place at my hotel. Hope you have a better experience next time.
Thank you for the transparency and sharing the level of precaution and thoughtfulness you all put in to taking this trip. I for one am super fatigued with this pandemic, and more than understand the want and need to be out and about. BUT we really need to start talking about the precautions and effort that still needs to be to be taken. Please please please, if y’all gonna be out and about, make sure you’re being cautious and mindful...❤️
I have a family trip planned to Puerto Rico in December! Can’t wait! I’m definitely going to get one of those Amazon jewelry organizers. Thanks for the tip! 🙌🏾❤️
I love that blanket! I have it in teal!! 😍😍😍 So cozy!! I also have that make up case, lol! I mainly use it at home tho.. takes up too much space in my luggage!! Airbnb’s with a pool are essential in traveling these days especially for the curfews!! We do that and grocery shop when we get in so we can cook whenever!
I personally love seeing people get ready, clean up, pack etc. because I am always doing at least one of those lol it’s also like we’re all packing for vaca and we get to live through you, the full experience 😂
A lot of places have curfews and restrictions due to covid. If you travel again just google the locations covid restrictions so you will know ahead of time so you can enjoy your trip better.
I was just in PR the week of APRIL 19th and there was still the 10pm curfew. Since the sun was up by 5:30 everyday and naturally rise with the sun anyway we just started our day super early and by 9 we were dog tired anyway. Puerto Rico is still one of my favorite places. I’m going back in September. PR is extremely popular right now and crowded. We came in on a Monday and left on a Friday to avoid the weekend crowds. The other side of the island is a lot less crowded and laidback. Rincon was beautiful and the beaches and restaurants right outside the city are way better than what they are in San Juan and Old San Juan.
Hi Raven! I just started following you a few hours ago lol! and I like your blogs and videos. I’m sorry to hear about your experience in PR. Unfortunately the prices in San juan are crazy expensive and I do understand what you’re saying. Hopefully you can go and another time and have better experience. We have alot of beautiful places and things you can go visit and do! ❤️
I'm so glad that you decided to make this vlog, i was wondering if i should travel somewhere myself bc i really miss traveling but after seeing this, i'm definitely waiting. Hope we can all travel and enjoy our trips better soon 💖

Hi! Im from PR too; I have lived in Old San Juan for all of my life and happy to help with some suggestions as well 😁 For now I will share what is great of Old San Juan, but if you want suggestions of the other places of the island just let me know. PR has soo many beautiful places to explore; so if you are planning a trip and need suggestions of specific activities and locations I would be glad to help. ☺️ 1️⃣Old San Juan: 🛍Best local shop is Puerto Rican Art & Crafts on Fortaleza St. 🥘For food Barrachina on Fortaleza St. is great and they claim to have invented the yummy piña colada treat. Other authentic restaurants are Mojitos, Rest. El Jibarito, and Raíces. 🍺For bar hopping, I recommend to start at Douglas Pub on San Sebastian St. and work your way down the street which has bars, tapas, and rooftops on either side (it is like our own Bourbon Street, pubs everywhere). 🗽Must see sights in Old San Juan are: El Morro Fort/castle, San Cristobal fort/castle, Plaza Del Quinto Centenario with Totem pole, La Fortaleza (governor’s mansion), La Puerta De San Juan along the historic fort walls, Catedral Basilica Menor de San Juan Bautista (second oldest cathedral in the Americas), El Convento hotel (historic and many series/movies hace scenes from that hotel), Paseo de la Princesa, Capilla de Cristo. And finally, there is the Puerto Rican Flag door that everyone should take a picture with; it is up north on San José Street.
Hi ! can u please enable the closed captioning feature. It’s needed for ur Hearing impaired followers. Thanks so much! Looking forward to hearing/watching this FUN video!
My family and I was excited to visit Biloxi, Alexandria La, and Panama City Beach Florida!, We prayed , sprayed, and washed our hands as we enjoyed traveling to different places last year! God is awesome, and still in control!!
Me and my friends went to the el san juan hotel in 1967 and it was beautiful then. I met my ex husband there in the lobby and we both came from new york, I loved puerto rico but three days is not enough
Loved it girl! For what it was, you guys made the best of it so that's awesome. Thanks for sharing it with us and keep inspiring us :) Can't wait til the next vlog! xo
Raven, you slayed everyday you were there! Outfits were on fire 🔥🔥🔥. And at dinner everybody killed it! The food looked bomb, but I would’ve been passed as well to be cut short on that trip especially the money you paid! But as always it was a good volg. You have such a good travel group! Everybody ain’t that lucky 🤗
I was in Puerto Rico last summer in the THICK of C-19 and there was a curfew then too. Nothing was open on Sundays which was a shocker (not even the beach), and then we couldnt buy alcohol after 5pm lol so it was a interesting trip lol but we had sooooo much fun me and my family. I would recommend an airbnb for anyone looking to go. They are wayyyy more spacious, especially if you're with a group. When I went, it was just my husband and I plus our 2 toddlers and we stayed in a two bedroom condo that was on the beach. We had a massive Livingroom with a pullout bed couch which we lounged on all of sunday to watch TV since everything was shut down lmao, so we were thankful for that.
The curfew its to protect us. I live in PR. We have recieved many tourist because the plane tickets where cheap. And unfortunately people do not respect the restrictions like wearing a mask... due to this, the positive covid testing have increased... but I hope when all this covid is over, come again and experience what PR really is about
Sis,the trip was awesome! You are so efficient in your story, loved it!❤️loved your style 🏖❤️ to me it was a totally successful. Sorry, for your rush, however you pulled it off👍🏽❤️
Hey Raven, I live in Puerto Rico and strangely enough I recognized your voice and saw Ziya in a video that my sister took of her son while on a kids ride. I thought it was dope and decided to tell you. I hope you enjoyed the island of Puerto Rico. I wish I could have met you and your beautiful daughter. Many blessings.
Ooookay 👌🏿🔥! I am TOO excited for this🙌🏿! On the road to 2 million subscribers 🙏🏿! So excited for you Raven❤️! Hoping to reach milestones with my motherhood/doula channel as well😁!
