I am puffy9, when I was about 9 years old we got a cat. I named him puffy as I loved the puff the magic dragon song. Thanks to Peter Paul and Mary I will always have this great memory.
I wonder how many of today's songs will still be sung in 60 years time. I can still sing along, I don't need any on screen words, and the tears still flow!
I was lucky enough to have been part of the chorus that accompanied Peter Paul & Mary in this holiday concert, and it is still one of my favorite musical memories. So nice to see others enjoying it.
The sad thing I equate this song to the War in Vietnam is that it would bring tears to think about war at the beginning of your manhood. There was an aircraft called " Puff The Magic Dragon" it would rain down "fire"
That's been one of my all time favorite songs since my 60s childhood and I've passed that on to my children my wife son and I have sung it at many an open Mike night..and we ALWAYS end it with Present Tense .. LOVE YA PUFF
That is the stupidest thing I never heard. There's some really sick people in this world. They can't even enjoy a song without putting a negative spin on it? Give me a break..
I was fortunate enough to see them in concert at the state line of Nevada and california, my oldest son loved the song to death God rest his soul in peace😢
This song is a classic icon in the history books of American Music. Every child should hear this. It's an easy one to sing and love. It is awesome how they put this together with the orchestra and background vocals. Long Live Peter Paul and Mary! P.S. Anyone familiar with "Puff The Kosher Dragon"?
@@marcschneider4845 of course but Jackie Papers son could have a son too. My biggest grief is that kids don’t play like that anymore. When I was a kid, I would turn our slide upside down and it would become a Viking ship. I would sail the seven seas, sack Paris, discover America. Now kids play video games.
There is only one word to describe this one: TIMELESS! Well, there ARE a few more, such as BEAUTIFUL, POINGNANT, SIMPLE and SAD, and one that will live thru the ages. CLASSIC!
1:28 Present tense. He now lives in a condo in Hallandale. I have seen him @ Sarah's tent, or kosher kingdom. Of course; he occasionally goes to Moe's deli. He also likes Jamaican food.
I love the way that the little girl nearly launches herself right out of her seat and wide mouth shout of glee- great to see. Also the little boy (about the same age) mouthing the words. Just proves that nasty Mary Whitehouse was completely wrong about banning it for children due to its implied use of drugs- something I still don't agree with- jus a sheit stirring old woman . In any case even if it was about Class A drugs, the words and song would have gone over he head of even a 10 year old ! Childhood isn't that long: let children have their childhood without trying to fill their brains with negative ideas.
