Always love photographing the puffins on the Farne Islands, a bit too difficult to climb off the boat these days. It's great how the community looks after the bird population
Wonderful video and photos! My wife and I went there in July of last year and it was amazing for photography and videos of the puffins. My longest lens was a 180mm which still allowed for great photos from that bird hut, but 400+ would definitely help to leave these little guys with some personal space for other spots on the island.
Why not just turn off the artificial light? 😐 Or as many as possible. Its a waste of energy and it hinders the birds. They would be able to navigate with the stars as nature intended. So....there's that...😐 Plus...the people that live there may get to see the milkyway with their naked eyes.
It’s a good point and the locals actually have been doing just that. The lights in the harbor I think are minimized to essential safety lights, but I’m not sure the exact extent. They do reduce a lot during this time of the year.
