When Pac says, “Puffy, you & I know what’s going on..” on the Against All Odds song, it always struck me how deep the game was then, esp how Pac says it.
Pac was about to expose even more heat, just like he exposed them on against all odds from the makaveli album. Pac wasn’t playing with these cowards in no way, shape or form. He was fed up the rap game. That’s my opinion.
Tru, Let's trade Piss Diddy suge and snoop, FBI, crooked cops, informants, and record industry, for Tupac Biggie and EAZY-E. 2ND trade- all the other rappers, singers activist, women they abused and murdered.
@@fruitpac You're life must really suck dude 😆🤣 You create a whole account just to hate in a 25 year old celebrity that died almost 30 years ago 😆🤣😭 SERIOUSLY PATHETIC
Big gene is just confirming what ppl already know. Angie was lying about the reasons why she never put that interview out and she was rewarded for not doing so!!
Agreed … she’s a bit too smug recently I noticed during the Ashanti interview …. Over time she can reimagine her importancei the 90s as some media savvy social media journalist presenter Dj. When we still at Netscape navigator and Microsoft’s internet explorer and a few magazines and yo mtv raps to let us know what was what…. And that was just the 🇬🇧…. And that was all He’s right but what I think he’s really getting at is that all those names were up and coming those days and whatever Martinez believes she is now back then he’s saying she was an employee aka a hip hop or urban radio Dj that’s it. 🤣🤣 between him and j wright they are breaking the internet 😮😂
@@eequalsmc2sqrd59 he’s not breaking anything him and Reggie wright are just two old men making money off of gossiping about about men who they slept with and all they sort they were accused of doing nothing groundbreaking or important about it
He's telling the truth about Wendy Williams. Puff shut her down and got her fired because she insinuated he was gay. Puff really ran NY for a long time. You would be surprised at the kind of powerful people that would show up to his parties.
Only thing is why puff not trying to "deal" with this dude for all of this. He been putting out some crazy stuff. Like he literally talking about puff dealing with stuff and he putting out those things and way more and seemingly comfortable doing it. Wild
@@timaldridge84 Puffy doesn’t care anymore. You know how much sh!t Professor Griff exposed on Puffy in 2010-2012. Griff would often shout, “Fuk Puffy I ain’t scared of him!!” Puff’s choreographer on Making The Band once shouted at Puffy, “Aint nobody scared of you!!..You always want somebody to be afraid of you!!”
I always wanted to know what Pac said about Puff, Quincy Jones and everyone else in that interview for Puffy to have that exclusive interview “confiscated” or preventing from getting it out.
Ed Lover always exaggerated him and Pac's relationship same way snoop does. Either that or Ed knows and is hiding something. One day he was on XM getting emotional, sounded too extra
Make a lot of sense… That’s why it’s not out til this day, & probably never will, which is sad. They couldn’t take Pac in any form. The World miss you Pac
This is why 2pac was always more than just an artist. He didn't play by the same rules these other guys played. His art and his life were inseparable. He had a humanity that outweighed the "basic bitch" way of things today.
Smart man. He even repeated the "why would you try to stop something if you didn't hear it" which is a rhetorical question. And the answer is because Puffy knew Tupac was going to swing from the hips once again with some real shit landing possibly a death blow to Bad Boy/Puffy/Biggie. At that time Tupac and Suge were bullying the industry so bad it was messing up money for these record company execs. They went to NY wearing Death Row East shirts lol Tupac was sticking his own flag on their turf, which really was his turf anyway, because he ran the rap world. He might of repped the west but he was national. And that's probably why a hit was put out on them in Vegas. By their own people. Jimmy Iovine/Kenner/Wrightway security/dirty off duty cops etc.
Gene Deal saying Puff stopped the Angie Martinez & 2Pac interview makes sense. Ed Lover even mentioned this as well. Puff had power over at Hot 97 like Gene Deal said. There's always politics in the music industry.
Just the clip alone from that interview the few mins I heard is Krazy I wish they bring the whole thing out but they said pac was very angry during that interview
Unknowingly the smartest thing the hip hop genre has ever done was telling rappers they are too old after a certain point. It allows hip hop to recreate itself or rebirth itself every couple of years with new talent. That new talent then rejuvenates the game and gives a rebirth to the lyrics of old that comes back and outshines the new.
That's one way to look at it. Another way is these corporations know it's a lot easier to influence, manipulate & control younger talent than older, seasoned vets who are already gamed up.
Not really. For freshness it works but It allows the dumbness to flourish whereas OG’s that have wisened don’t really get listened to. The culture stays toxic evermore.
Listen to Tupac’s “Against All Odds” song. Pac hints at it. He most likely had receipts of Puffy being a fairy amongst other things via that interview.
Man Pac your name still big down here which of course I know you already know up there in Heaven...every platform on this thing called RU-vid interview people that tells different stories about you and some have a couple of interviews...maaaannn I wish you were still hear but I enjoyed you for the time you were....oh yeah by the way tell Pimp C Bone said what up
This dude was just a bodyguard , but he talks like he was present for every conversation, incident, contract signing, concert, radio interview, party and street fight in the 90's!
Love Big Gene interviews. Take-a-drink everytime he says "Ya Understand What I'm Sayin" - I see his interviews and I immediately Click. ( dude keeps it real though )
for real i bet when hes at home on the toilet and run outs of toilet paper he screams PUFF WHY YOU AINT REPLACE THE ROLL. but hes in a house alone and havent seen puff in years lol
Angie Martinez said Jay z talked her into putting the tape in a vault to keep it from being leaked which makes me think does Jay z own or got a copy of this?
The interview came out!... They just made crazy edits on the parts where Pac was going ham on Bad Boy! Angie later said that Pac told her he understood why she didn't air the whole interview and didn't hold it against her. Low Key Pac probably knew Puffy suppressed parts of it. Just my opinion😎😎
@@robertharris6785 Pac knew them niggas that shot him Quad studio were well known gangsta he never went on radio and said fuck them niggas that shot me quad studio
Maan Quincy was KNOWN for sleeping w Rappers. He even got LL & Will Smith, how u think they blew Up in Hollywood? He gives em "Socalled Gifts" After. That's how Will got "Fresh Prince of bel Aire" sitcom, and LL got the sitcom called "In the House". These sitcoms were Both Produced by Quincy(His Shows), Come on now. They both Starred on these sitcoms after sleeping w him. This is FACTZ. U know how Hard it was for a Rapper to hav his own "Sitcom" back then?? Maan Listen. Name some others that had em back then.. Ok then. Quincy ain't just hand them that "Just Because", come on now
Didn't Angie do something where she described in her own words about this interview. I saw it years ago but can't find it now. I remember she described how pac flew her to Cali and she waited at his house with the outlaws. Pac finally got there he was late becuz he was filming a movie. She said when she got back to NY puff and ed lover stopped the interview from airing becuz they felt it would put a bad look on NY. Anyone know where that link is?????
All that craziness in the 90s got Hiphop where it is today. That mystic will forever keep the people intrigued, even with the new social media aspect. Hip hop shut down the Grammys this year, and they be disrespecting hiphop like crazy. Even when Kanye wasn’t there his name was still in the lyrics. Hiphop is the GOAT.
Gene’s on to something. Angie’s standing in to protect the station, and New York’s credibility. This type of trickery is what people be referring to when they mention New York blocking and hating in the 90s…
@@easymoneyproductions9898 It definitely wasn’t just Pac, but you got a point. Everybody was “too slow”, “too country”, “rapped too fast”, or too something to be accepted by NewYork and its media. Now, like you mentioned, they’re scraping to get themselves through the door, cause they no longer have that advantage or leverage with the internet…
Ion know bout that. Puffy needed radio more than radio needs Puff. That’s how his artist get heard. LaBels beg to have time slots and pay good money to radio to get those slots. Radio is about advertising products and services not Music. Music is just the attraction to get people to listen to the advertisers..So Radio had more power than a Puff Daddy. Maybe he got Wendy fired because he was threatening to Sue the station for defamation cause she was going to air out some personal info on him but Angie Ion think he had anything to do with that one cause the information being spoken was from Pac not Angie perspective
Pacs interview with Angie wouldve destroyed Puffy back in 96. Pac came for War after he was framed locked up and betrayed he was ready to die but was gonna take Puffy with him. Damnnnnnnn
Who ever was around when pac did the interview and heard it on the radio station please lmk half of what pac said fuck a tape cause at this point you can stop a tape but you can't stop a person memory
I'm so glad Angie tucked that interview deep down into her archive because SHE'D be the one to suffer the consequence if it ever saw the light of day. If Puffy & Co. was that powerful in the industry to where he could simply make a phone call and get Wendy Williams fired and artists blackballed then why bother w/ it? It's not worth it. Over the years, Angie's went on record and teased the thought of releasing the interview, but I'm always in the cut saying, "Angie, do not release the interview." I do not care how cool you are w/ those brothas. One wrong word or move could cause you to lose it all. I believe she's in her early 50's. That's just too damn old to be risking it all and/or ultimately playing a game of catch-up. She ain't in no type of drama and she's well respected. Again, it's not worth. I can tell you how it's gon play out (if it actually happens). Angie's gon release the interview, the fans are gon "oooh & ahhh," talk about it for about a month and then move right on to the next one. Angie's gon end up getting herself FIRED and all of her relationships are gon dissolve. Nah what she gon do? She _cain't_ go to another platform because the calls have already been made. She gon end up on RU-vid like Troi Torain (Star) and Artie Alston (Choke No Joke). Nah, tell me if you think it's worth it. I'm seeing way too many individuals stick they own foot in they mouth when it's 100% preventable. Taxstone was on his way, but he just had to be a "I'm just keepin' it real, tell-it-like-it-is" hothead and nah he's a memory. The good brotha, Justin (Math Hoffa) swooped in like a hawk in the sky and took that position. Troi Torain was an "everybody's jealous of me, I just keep it real" hothead, got a lil' too big for his britches and got phased the fuck out. DJ Envy took that spot and has been sitting pretty ever since. Artie Alston has been (no pun intended) telling industry secrets and exposing folks only to turn around and complain about those same folks not wanting him to work in certain spaces. "Such & such is gxy" and "such & such is apart of the clique." 5 seconds later... "Won't nobody give me a job in the industry." Danny Boy likes to get on camera and insinuate that certain artists who were on Dexth Row Records are gxy. Nah he's back on camera wondering why they done cut his checks off. You cannot have it both ways. Basically, get in the game, play it skrategically and take yo' ass home. Never mind who's "real" or any of that nonsense. Just do yo' job and hit the door. "I'm a real n¡gga!" "Ain't nobody gon punk me." "I keeps it a buck!" Ok, Mr. "Real N¡gga." When they blackball yo' ass indefinitely, don't say I didn't warn you...
Some ppl just wanna tell truth. It's only two ways. Either you tell truth, dont complain and hold your own or see and hear like nothing happened and rely on those weird relationships. gotta pick one and live with your convictions
@@kylerolle5050 How many are telling the truth for the right reasons though? Some folks are only telling the truth because they were X'd out of the situation. Nobody says a word when everything is good. I always questions folks when they don't speak out when things are happening in real time.
It’s been over 26 years and still won’t put it out. At this point it holds no real value….. Of course we will watch it & Angie might get a few new invites to answer old questions that pertains to the video!!!! But at this point IDC anymore! 😩🤦🏽♂️
