They went back and forth with Mary’s brother Bruce and his homegirls getting some credits as writers. I think Jeff Redd was A&R for MCA by that point cause he’s the one that discovered Mary after hearing her karaoke tape.

Well i guess we can say she was affiliated with Bad Boy as a production company while signed to MCA..Meaning that Bad Boy was in charge of putting together Mary's music projects.Kind of what So So Def did for Usher while signed to Laface records. Don't know how Dre got into the picture if he wasn't involved in the production.

He co managed Mary for a period of time starting around 98 until the beginning of 2001, so he was still around when she recorded the No More Drama album that including Family Affair. Had nothing to do with Badboy though, he had left by then.
