My son have a male Chihuahua & a female pug. The pug, had 8 Beautiful puppies. Which They call the puppies, Chugs. They look so Much like their mother. Their so cute.
Pugs are funny little monsters. I have a couple of Pug's and Frenchie's. For those adopting one don't feed them too much. Maybe less is even better. They get fat fast even with exercise and they lose weight really slow. 😂
A study conducted by The Royal Veterinary College warns pugs face dire health risks due to inbreeding and concluded the dog breed can "no longer be considered as a typical dog from a health perspective." The consequences of inbreeding for their specific appearance have become detrimental to their overall health. Breeders kill the pups that dont posess desirable traits and many pups live excruciatingly painful lives with many disorders and disease, some hardly can function. Basically, they mate a brother and sister together that have the best looking traits(wrinkles, tail etc) and the offspring of those with the best traits are kept for breeding, the others are killed and or suffer deformities and disease. To understand the impacts more, the study looked at 4,308 pugs and 21,835 dogs of other breeds in the U.K., comparing their health profiles and odds of developing 40 common disorders The study found that pugs had an increased risk for 23 disorders, including being 54 times more likely to have brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome, 51 times more likely to have narrowed nostrils, 11 times more likely to have skin fold infections. In addition, 17.4% of the pugs were obese, compared to just 6.9% of other dogs. Not many will speak out because its bad for business. Its designed for breeders to charge top dollar for the cutest pug and veterinarians arent going to speak up because they make a killing on pug visits because their health issues. Every pug you buy from a breeder promotes the suffering and death of thousands of pugs
