Cool, I've been looking for a sled like this with wheels to take camping in winter or summer. I guess the only drawback is when the wheels are in the upright position, the bar could be in the way of your gear. You could just load your gear, then flip the wheels up and hold the wheels together at the top with a bungee chord or something and keep the rod attached to the sled some other way in case you needed to use it with the wheels. Cool idea!

I live in the South I like you wheeled setup. We rarely get snow here in Central Alabama, but to have the option is sweet. You have a great build I hope to build.

Great video, could you send a video or pics as how you did the hinges and how did you attach the wheels? Thanks

Great set up. I could use some detail list of material as in hinges and brackets / bolts etc. or a close up video of the detail. Thanks in advance.

I need something like this for winter camping when it’s freezing cold but not a single flake of snow on the ground. Backpacks can get pretty damn heavy in the winter.

Good deal on looking at a few desines I'm disabled and I use my wheel chair to get my fishing stuff from the truck to the water. But the chair I have to make a few trips so need a trailer I have wheel chair wheels to make a trailer. I've seen a few desines and I'm liking yours don't need the lifting of the tires but I like the idea. But the weight band nice but I have a tea bad back so gonna try to find a shoulder one maybe. But my wheel chair has rod holders and I'll make to wear the sled hooks to the chair and I can ride and pull or push and still pull. But good build thanks for sharing god bless

This would make a great addition to my bug-out or get home system. Then I don't have to carry it when miles start to adding up.

Thanks for the video. Nice job on the programable hardware. One change you might consider is in land mode, the thing is going to be hard to balance, like impossible. So maybe add a way to fix the ends of the poles to the end of the sled, so they act like a tow hitch... Then bend the poles up so the sled rides level underway.

Nice work. Did you ever pull it on 'dirt' as you call it and if so, how was it, smooth, jerky, grounded out or what? Many thanks in advance for any reply after all of this time.

Wow, I never thought this video would be so popular. But yes, I did. As a family we made some trips into a yurt that is 5 miles back. Springtime weather so it was snow and dirt. It worked ok but it wasn't 'hassle free'. I had to balance the weight to keep it from being too front or back heavy because of the single axle. Just a little extra weight in the front kept it from tipping over backwards. It saved my back from having to haul all the extra weight in a pack. I would build another if it was needed.

@@jshuag Cheers for the reply, most appreciated. I'm looking at suitable axle and wheels setup currently - some cheap babies buggy or similar, but I'm not sure whether to go for smaller solid or a larger spoked bicycle wheel set-up.

i have seen where people cross the poles to give a more stable pull . neat idea but what keeps the wheels attached ? just a friction fit ? don't know that i'd trust that .

won't the wheels fall off with weight in the sled ? what keeps the wheels on ? I would want a better secure way to keep wheels on ! No fun when a loaded sled wheel goes flying off .

It sounded like the wheel clicked in to the tube? How?

if you use two more of the boxes, one in front and one in the back, you will get some folding kayak.....

You mentioned hinges to allow the support brackets to tilt down but you don't show them in detail. Please name info and source of hinges and how you mount them plz. thank you David
