This is so good for the dogs. Their so much happier doing this than sitting around a house being walked once or twice a day if their lucky.

GORGEOUS! Some people say it is sad.. These dogs are born and bred to run! They are so excited, they can't even contain themselves. They just wanna go, their metabolism is different then other dogs. They calmed down when they began to run. They can go on for hours on end. They also NEED to be run! They need it. So if you own a husky or a breed like this, run them please. I love me some huskies!! I love how they work together as a team with the human. Look at the front dog watching over and back at the pack to keep everybody in check.

How the heck are people saying it’s sad,they love this! I’d love to put my husky with a group so they can teach her the commands and have her run with them,I trained mine off leash which most people won’t try but it’s so good for them to have that way of exercise

Great content. Mushing is one of the (if not the most) misunderstood activities out there. These dogs really love what they do. They live extremely long and healthy lives. They're doing exactly what the natives bred them for.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful video! My husband and I lost our first Siberian to cancer last July 30, 2019. She had become my therapy dog, she was so sensitive to my pain. We’re planning on our next pup, Siberian of course, really soon. I also appreciate you having a mostly pure breed Siberian team and love your reputation with them. I saw a documentary called “Sled Dogs” once, on how teams leaders were treating their Sibes.,, it made me sick and actually cry. I couldn’t finish the show. May God bless you all and your Huskies. You are a great credit to the sport and mankind.🙏🏼💕🐕🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾

Well, they are very smart, but independent thinkers and if not starting to work with them as early as indicated, you end up with a stubborn pup with tons of energy! 😊 At the same time, they are loving, cuddly, and oh so fluffy! Can’t help but love a Husky! Oh, and they would do just about anything for some play time!!! Choose your outdoors game and they’re ready to go any time, rain or shine, night and day! 😊 🥰 🫶 my Husky!!!

The first half of this video it is okay, watch carefully the second part of the video, one of the last dogs, the ones closer to the camera, the one in the right side is limping and having issues on his left leg. I'd take him to the vet (an orthopedic/traumatology specialist). Take it or leave it, but something is going on with his rear assembly and pulling a sled for this long, can result in a severe injury.
@TheYukonnahanni

@malin2703
@malin2703 3 года назад
None of them have a limp. I studied mushing for two years and learned how to see any limps or anything else that might bother the dog or the team, and none of these dogs are showing any signs of discomfort. If the dog had a limp/a leg that hurt, you would see its head bop up and down or he would lean one ear (normally the one on the side where the discomfort is) back. The dog on the right sometimes runs a little crooked (moving his hips away from the line) when the team slows down, which is completely normal. If anything, the rear dogs keep their tail straight up - which _could_ be a sign of a stiff back. The rear dogs do the heaviest pulling, and get the weight of the sled placed more on their hips, especially with lines as short as in this video. They should probably consider stick-harnesses for their rear dogs, or distancing them more from the sled. Otherwise this looks fine.

incredible animals, their endurance and stamina is just downright incredible. i have a lab and a 8 week golden puppy. i love dogs, i love and respect the Siberian husky and alaskian malamute, but i know they are incredibly high energy dogs and escape artists. they love to run, this is what they do. they arent a great house pet if you don't understand this. i think they are great in a house if you have the knowledge how to raise them and the time/space to run them. THIS IS WHAT THEY WERE BRED FOR

First.. I can't swear this is True but... A couple years ago I was watching National Geographic and they'd sent a team to Alaska to do a segment on the Iditarod. As one segment they interviewed a Woman Musher and she said something I had Never Known before! She asked the National Geographic guy... musher - "Have you ever seen a Husky with Blue Eyes?" NatGeo - "Yes" musher - "Ever wondered why they have Blue Eyes?" NatGeo - "Actually, I never thought about it before." musher - "Here in Alaskan Winters when the Sun is shining on the Snow its so bright that Musher's wear googles to filter the Light's Brightness so they don't go 'Snow Blind'" musher - "The Huskys evolved over time to have Blue Eyes because they reflect the Sunlight better and prevent the Dogs from getting 'Snow Blindness'" NatGeo - "Wow I never knew that!" musher - "Have you ever seen a Husky with only 1 Blue eye?" NatGeo - "Yes... why?" musher - "Up here on the Trail a Husky with only 1 Blue eye will actually close the other eye while they pull the sled w/just 1 eye open." I was just as surprised to learn all this as the NatGeo guy was !

@epicquest3462
@epicquest3462 4 года назад
Always feed after the run. You don't want them throwing up and aspirating while running. I give my dogs soup broth before the run to make sure they're well hydrated and then food after the run. Only pups get multiple meals per day. On longer runs I will stop and snack they dogs. That's usually a hotdog or a small chunk of meat or fish
@Uncle_Yukon

@sssPUNKyyy
@sssPUNKyyy 6 лет назад
Yes, and no, but more like no to the previous answer. He's just nagging, thinking that the one the right is not pulling hard enough. Also he's probably a bit more dominant. Also also you can see that both of them have their tails up, stiff and curved, while running, which is oftern a sign of some distress or a state of alert.
@Oswald_Thatendswald
@Oswald_Thatendswald 4 года назад
definitely the excitement. They can get nippy when they get excited, especially if they're more dominant. Which that one definitely is because when they stop for a break that same dog pees on the other one. Probably why he has him in the very back.
@edengarden6811
@edengarden6811 4 года назад
Left dog is more dominant, as soon as the right dog let the tail down a little it was alright. And the pack moves as a team at that moment. Excitement as well.
