No...still on breathing tank. Hospice bed at home. Can't do anything lost my jobs because of my health..doctor says I won't be able to work again...I can't stand for no more than a minute or two before light head and losing breathe...it sucks
I did this and I have a vague memory of my booth being like a Glass Egg (shape) but the same functions done. And I also remember them depressurizing it. I was being tested for Pulmonary Fibrosis so I wouldn't have to do a CT scan (which I ended up doing 2 high resolutions years later confirming I had scars on my lungs) this was 20 plus years ago. And They made me do it like 5 times. And they kept yelling "blow blow blow". Now this might be because computers and software wasn't as sensitive back then. its probably simpler today than back then. my lungs got a good workout and kind of hurt the following days but I was put on steroids and given asthma pills. this made it worse with high blood pressure and I went back on basic Albuterol after that. don't worry about this test. its basically to see what meds or treatment you might need. be happy you have access to this kind of treatment. People in some countries don't have access to this. this is why I Support Doctors without Borders. . and that's; not a plug on my part but it would be justified if it were.
That looks scary. I am autistic and I am going to a lung specialist soon. I have asthma that I can't get under control. My doctor requested a lung specialist today. I don't like having my nose plugged nor panting. It's going to be hard for me. I already feel like I am breathing through a windy tunnel. The only thing that helps is my inhaler and hot steamy drinks. I cough up phlegm and dirt a lot in the morning too. I even get nauseated because of the choking and pain in my throat. Sometimes it happens at night too. I always have attacks when it's humid and hot outside. Summer and Spring are the worst seasons for my health. Asthma is a horrible anxious inducing experience. It can be deadly if not treated properly. I even have seizures that are caused by lack of oxygen.
I go in tomorrow for mine because I'm having issues breathing. I have scar tissue on my lungs from covid and it's still causing problems. Hopefully they will be nice and respectful knowing that I won't be able to breathe or even hold my breathe like this lady.
@@expression3639 I doubt that. My lungs haven't healed and I lost my job due to my health condition with collapsing lack of breathing, highly severe fatigue. Failed all the tests. With permanent scars on my lungs.
Hello I was watching this clip. I have to has a pulminary test done in march. Which I am terrified of I cant use my inhailor or nose spray or take any allergy medicine. I tried to do this by holding my nose shut with my fingers and I cant even get to 10 with out coughing and feeling light headed. Did you find your result do they make you do exercises to to see how your breathing is with that as well?
@@jonesfoto1036 I know they’re all business, but why do they gotta be so serious? Lol the tech was like getting mad at me cause I wasn’t pushing my breath as hard as she wanted “you’re not doing it right”. And getting upset lol
Not sure I'd want to be breathing through this machinery during a pandemic. Even if they change the mouthpiece their is a lot of tubing plus the inside workings of the machine that dozens of people before you have been breathing into.
Tightly closed box, panting with restriction, nurse telling you how to breath.. this’ll be fun. Can’t wait. Not to mention the SUPER awkward mouth to tube placement lmao
I think the enclosed box is claustrophobic and these tests are barbaric. Putting a patient under this kind of pressure is not right. Why distress the patient any further.
I do this every six months, due to scleroderma i got nodules in my lungs. It's always hard at the beginning then it gets easier. The last test gets tricky. I just did this yesterday. Waiting for results. Then I'll be back in 6 months.
I cough too and sometimes it's nerves. That nose clip is the same as when you swim. just think of it as you're going swimming. its just to prevent lost of pressure. Its not that bad.
@@pauld724 I know I use to wear one of those nose plugs but since I got older I became claustrophobic and it's a big deal now. I think some of it is nerves too and a lot of phlegm.
@@Melanie-ix4nq I get the same thing from time to time. I hate Elevators. but You just close your eyes. once they explain everything and the door shuts, you hear that silence because its so insulated and they talk to you through a speaker. just close your eyes an follow the instructions. You should do just fine. Hope the best for you. My girlfriend has to do it. I was trying to comfort her and showing how it will be.
I’m have this appointment on Wednesday. It’s been 2 months since I had COVID and it had scarred my lungs. my oxygen level goes down only when I walk. I hope I do well so I can stay off this oxygen.
did yall get the vaccine?. i didnt and got "covid twice. once when the "pandemic" started and again 2 months ago. was barely sick the first time b the second had a horrible sore throat and fever. it had no affect on my normal life. im taking this test for a job im sure it'll be easy.
I wasn't even told to breath out hard. I just breathed out like normal. And, I have gone through hell, because the person giving me the test at a hospital had no idea what she was doing. So be really careful....if it doesn't seem right don't do it and demand upper management so it doesn't go on your health record. Because if they don't take it off.....it's a true living hell. Addendums are like getting a golden egg. Pulmonologist here is a control freak, and money hungry, no one stays his patient.
yeah right he just grab the hold of that tip , hey honey are you downstairs hey you said you were bored and wanted something to do this video gave me a good idea.
same as me. I had a test today. the chest lab technician shouting me all the commands. she was stressed me to blow and breathing in. am worried about my test. i cant walk or climb the stairs. i thought it was heart problems. i had a mri heart scan and angiogram and after dr. referred to me this test. what can i do. and waiting the result.
Same here, here tone is terrible, you'd think she was talking to a toddler, I'd hate to have someone like that for mine. She's obviously done them so much she become boss 🤖 robot.
Some people due to medical conditions sometimes get scared that their lungs won't be able to perform this test. I have the test today bc of COVID and i know I won't be able to do everything in this test. I and others are sometimes scared that we will pass out. Sorry for a bit of a long answer for you.
@@Stephanie-mu3qy I have 26% lung function and can do all of these tests. You can too and no you won't pass out. Your message is good evidence that 30% of these tests is mental and that good coaching is paramount to get a good performance out of patients. Good coaching will get air out of patients' lungs that they didn't know they had and get them to use muscles for breathing they didn't know they had either.
I'm not scared, I just feel anxious when I dont know what to expect with what will happen for a test. But I'm on the autism spectrum and such anxiety is common when we dont know what is going to happen. 🤷♀️ so I'm educating myself on what the test is like.
