I bought this on a single back in 98, I think I was 16, and I wasn't even slightly concerned that 'nothing lasts forever' now I am in my 30's it's funny how it's all falling away too fast.

Re-Release the song and raise funds to help the aged during these difficult pandemic times.

Criminally underrated

Behind the apparent silliness, the message is in fact rather profound. He's so right. The body grows old but the mind never does, my gran is still as funny and sharp as she's always been in her early eighties and I love her. She was telling me that she knew a woman in her late 70s who was getting married again, the woman had been married five times and had outlived all her husbands! So someone said to her Mrs Whoever, why don't you stay alone and the woman replied: "No! I don't like to be alone, even just to have someone to pat it." LOOOL! In her 70s!!! LOL! Guess it never goes away. lol! :-) xx

I got into this album when I was about 20. I was going through some personal stuff at the time and the album helped me through it, even though the content wasn't relative to my own ongoing experiences. But now I'm rapidly approaching 30, listening back, the songs are too close to the bone and way more real than they were back then.

I laughed about it15y ago. And now it happened to me too!! Happens faster than you'd think.

Got an underrated reception at the time, because it's lower key in many ways than Common People was - it was often viewed as a let down as a follow up (even Russell Senior of Pulp didn't get it). But it's got a nagging genius to it, and the chorus hook especially gets in your head. Glad This Is Hardcore generally as an album has had the positive reappraisal it deserves in recent years.

look pulp was what the 90s in Britain was all about, the days we still day dream about now and then, it's funny how it all falls away.

I've always had a soft spot for this song. I must admit, after seeing Ali G do it with him, I keep hearing the "help the m-fing aged" pop in🤷🏻‍♀️

I had good taste in music when I was 15.

It's inspired by A Matter of Life and Death, a classic that you really should check out. In the film, the main character falls in love with a radio operator as he's plunging to his death in his spitfire. When you die you take an escalator into heaven's waiting room and you get checked in by reception. Only this time there's been a mistake...

I remember always miss hearing it as "Help the Idiot" :D
