Bike tire won't inflate. Bike tire valve leaking air. What to do when the bicycle pump won't pump air into the tube valve. How to use a presta valve adapter
Nice content ! I just bought those tyres for my single speed, Im not good at Presta, I can't get the Presta to come all the way out of the wheel so I can inflate the tyre.
Mine leaks at the nipple part of the valve. So the bottom. I've tighten it still leaks. I notice this because I was washing my tires and saw the little bubbles around that round nipple at bottom of valve.
It has, hasn't it? You are right! I have been trying to air it up with a mattress pump. I am in middle of nowhere. I could have sworn that I got air in the other tire. I pushed it in while applying so much pressure. I have rolled it around in side also. Hey, I'm 57. I had a husband for 30 years. He was a Marine older than me. He did those things. My, grown, son is in the area I left. I'll be back to let u know. No hardware store here. Amish area. I don't know anyone. I have 3 bicycle pumps at my homestead. I forgot them. I will make sure I get next week. Ty
Hello doc. I have a question that I can't seem to get answered about my presta valve. I have a brand new pressure valve that of course has no pressure in it. Every video I watch shows press the valves that have air in it so when they press it they knock a little air out to release a little pressure. I'm wondering if there's something wrong with my personal valve, or like common Sense would tell me it can't have any spring in it with no air pressure pushing it up. Can you help me with that?
I have the thin valve you showed and that pump with the little hose to match it! But air will absolutely not go in - the valve is in the correct position on the tire, and I screwed the little hose from the pump as far as it will go... But I can't pump, the pump stops, because the air will not go in through the valve...
When I pump my bike with my electric bike pump I can hear the air leaking like crazy I checked my inner tube for any pictures and found none! Do u think I have a loose leaking valve? Only problem is I don't hear any air come out from it just when I pump it
It sound like you have not sealed the pump onto the valve properly. So the air is leaking around the pump head. Make sure you push the pump head onto the valve until you hear the air release from the head pushing on the valve release. Then lock on the pump head and then pump. Good luck.
My valve keeps getting crooked. Is there a way to prevent this from happening every single ride, it is highly frustrating! Is it possibly because I keep it at the bare minimum pressure 65 psi? The maximum my tube can go is 85 psi. Also at this point my valve is crooked and air will not release even when I press the inner portion of the valve, I am waiting for the valve adapter, so hopefully that resolves that.
@@DrCrankysBikesforKids seems too simple of a solution, yet logical at the same time. My tire just popped for the 5th time because of the crooked valve today. I will test it out thanks dr cranky!
Thanks for asking this!!! I am having the exact same issue: the valve is straight when I pump it, but after a short ride it is ascew... like you, I've been thru too many new tubes so I want to fix this lol
Update: I returned my bike. No matter what hack I did to avoid it, it kept happening. Sometimes the bike itself has some structural issues or the company just sent a crappy bike. I did super glue, double sided tape, the whole 9 yards nothing worked!
Hello sir, could you please try to guess what could possibly be wrong with my bike tire? The part of the tire where you put the air is crooked and i can't properly put air in the bike. When i try to put air, although the tire is flat, the tire acts as if there is to much air in there and it isn't allowing me to pump air into it. What should I do? Thank you.
I think you need to straighten the valve. Push out all the air from the tube, loosen the tyre by pinching it all the way around. Then try to move the tyre so it pushes the valve straight. Sometimes you have to do this bit by bit going around the whole wheel. The tube moves with the tyre. If leaning left then you have to push tyre to the right to straighten the valve. When straight try pumping again - it usually works. Look at this vid at about 51s onwards ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3ezm3fa4LMw.html
Just bought a bike & when I inflate my front tire past 60% of ideal pressure, the tire bulges to the point where it comes out of the rim. I've tried applying pressure to the original bulge area while pumping, but the bulge just finds another spot on the rim. The dealer installed the tire & tube, I did not. Is this something I can fix or does the dealer have to fix it? Thanks for your help.
Hey bro , I have an problem with my bicycle that is when I pump air in tube no air is gone in tube (0%) and pump proplete reverse ( like when air is fully filled but there's no air in tube) reply plz
Could be a slow leak. Take out tube. Pump it up a fair bit and check in water for bubbles. Our the valve - try wetting it with spit and see if any bubbles.
My floor pump stopped working correctly after I left it out in the rain. It locks properly onto my shrader valve and lets me pump a little air, but then the pump handle goes upward as some air returns from the tube into the pump. The harder I pump, the higher the pressure in the air hose as well, and the pump handle seems under equal pressure to the tube. This happened with several tubes I tested. I assume it's something with the valve not keeping the air in the tube from gushing out to the pump. Any idea how to repair this?
Could be you are not locking onto the valve properly - you need to push it on before locking the pump head (listen for an air return from the tube). You may have to wind out the pump head top lock nut (locks the washers into the pump head) to allow this to happen. Or water has got into the pump - try pumping into the air and blow out the water.
If your pump it two sides, it could be that your pump has a switch on it and its set to the schrader side. Try switching back the other way. The switch usually points away from the valve side that is activated. Give it a go and tell me how you go.
I made this video for you. At the end it explains the valve switching on the pump head. Hope it helps. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fRrstBty9No.html
Hi man i just got a fat tyre bike in a box and after assembling I started filling the air in the tyre on the front wheel it worked fine but on the back tyre the air is not going in. I checked it the tyre is flat but its not. Please help
@@iphone11grapher36 It is usually because the pump is not fully engaged. As per the video you need to push hard sometimes while pushing up on the tyre so the valve stays in the pump. The other reason might be a tight valve. See ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fRrstBty9No.html
@@DrCrankysBikesforKids there is decent amount of air, but not fully pumped...i was wondering if there could be an issue with the valve alone or would i have to replace the whole tube...
@@nike45258 sounds like the valve itself. May be the seal inside. You could try unscrewing it completely out of the cylinder and soaking in hot water for 2mins to revive the rubber seal. If that doesn't work, knees tube.
Hello sir I have the same problem 0:34 and I can't exactly see what you are doing so can you please explain or tell the name of the problem Please reply
Hi Dr. Cranky when I put the pump over my schrader valve nothing happens, it doesn’t inflate. But the valve is working. I can blow it up myself but only so far. Any tips???
if it pumps in and there is not hole in the tube it may be that the valve needs tightening. Inside you'll see a little turnstile. if you rotate that clockwise it will tighten the valve. Try that. It might also be that you've not pushed the pump on far enough and sealed it. Try pushing it on until you hear some air releasing then lock it on before pumping. Good luck. Tell me how it goes.
Wriggle the tyre back and forward a bit on the rim. The valve should reappear and pull it down. You may have to push it thru with your thumb on the tyre.
Wish I would've watched this video before wasting $65 on a new pump. Didn't know you needed to use your hand to push the tire down while securing the pump head to the valve.
@@halaltunes. Ok. the valve is just inside the rim. Deflate the tube completely and you should be able to pinch the tyre and feel the valve on the inside. Guide it into the valve hole and hold it down with your thumb while you push the pump on. This will stop it retracting again.
