I'm going to be going to Japan in April 2024 with my babies and the ex, we're moving there then. I am so scared that my ex will not be able to navigate Japan... all he knows is "Konnichiwa" I keep asking him to learn more, but we're working 2 jobs each. He says he has no time to learn. Will this be a problem when we go?

My sister when she cooks a big patch of soup, she makes it so thick almost like porridge. She says it takes less space to store and much easier to pack some for her daughters. Just add water when reheating.

I love your tiny measuring cup! Your video a while back about how you weren't embarrassed to have cute and tiny things in your house because they made you happy and your build a ladder mentality really stuck with me. I don't feel embarrassed by the cute things that bring me happiness anymore and decided that I'm worthy of buying myself cute trinkets and that the cost (luckily) has been trivial compared to the amount it can brighten each day. Thank you ❤

I’m so happy to hear that! It’s hard to remember sometimes that this is OUR life we are living, and if something small and cute brings us joy (and it isn’t hurting anyone) we should celebrate that something so simple can spark happiness.

PERFECT! I’m a teen librarian, and I’ve been LOOKING for an easy, tasty, savory recipe for pumpkin soup to make for the library Halloween party! I have a MASSIVE instant pot (it’s like 7 or 8 quarts) I can make this in; it’ll be PERFECT. This soup, a few crusty loaves of take and bake bread, and a big ol’ pumpkin-shaped cheese ball will make for a delicious Halloween evening! ❤ Thank you so much for sharing this recipe, Martina! All the recipes you post are always 10/10 delicious, so I’m sure this’ll be a massive hit. 😋

If you can't find kabocha where you live, try looking for pie pumpkins instead. Like Martina mentioned, they're much smaller than the traditional jack-o-lantern pumpkins we're used to and they're actually intended to be eaten. Usually people just use them for making pumpkin pie from scratch, but you can do all sorts of delicious fall cooking with them!

Pumpkin soup is an Australian winter staple but we don’t put cinnamon in it. That is a very American thing. A few chopped up bacon bits on top with some natural Greek yogurt tops it off so nicely
@KingKogi
@KingKogi 8 месяцев назад
Ohhh Greek yogurt sounds neat on top! Unfortunately I don’t have access to that type of thick unsweetened stuff here, and the bacon scene doesn’t exist here either lol but I buy thick ham sometimes and pan fry cubes. Interestingly, when I was in Germany, they used a lot of cinnamon and nutmeg in savoury food such as noodles and meat, so I don’t know if it’s limited to North America, but can’t deny I certainly do love cinnamon 😊
@GillianKH
@GillianKH 8 месяцев назад
I haven't been to Germany yet which is probably why I wasn't aware of that fact, but I did live in the USA on and off a lot in my 20's and they seemed to use so much of it in everything, especially around Christmas time, I like cinnamon but I am used to it only being on donuts or in curries. I do however know about the "no good bacon" thing in Japan but luckily everything else there is amazing, I need to go back and visit, all the food is so delicious. I Love your videos so much too, thanks for sharing your life with us and delicious things
