@@purplepixie274it does, when I worked there at least. The pumpkin spice flavoring is a very thick consistency, and it’s very similar ingredient wise to pumpkin pie mix.
The fishy smell/"taste" you guys got from the Culver's concrete mixer is pyridine. Culver's uses actual pumpkin puree, which contains pyridine, hence why it's a note you can pick up on
Thank you for explaining and defending my very hard work. It’s very discouraging to hear it described as “fishy” when I know firsthand how we make the mixers and shakes
Yeah this is actually not true, it’s more likely due to the presence of medium chain carboxylic acids which are noted as having smells/tastes of funk, feet, and fish
@@eliborngesser656Yeah I agree. if there was any, let alone enough pyridine in pumpkin puree to even slightly taste fishy there would have been a class action lawsuit immediately lol. It's an industrial chemical not a typical byproduct that ends up in produce at all.
I didn’t even notice them say they got the creme. That is a milkshake. I remember when they started rolling out the creme fraps bc kids wanted stuff from Starbucks but only had the regular fraps at the time. But too late for me, I tried a normal caramel frap when I was 12 and I was sucked in lol
yeah those fraps are insanely good with or without coffee, but i liike them with cold brew instead of frap roast if u ever get the chance to try that@@RoKer13
As someone with food-safety related anxiety, it was cool to see Matt and the crew being chill (and then funny) when Charlie mentioned his gas station food concerns. It's nice to hear a response other than judgement.
I mean it's pretty common for people to be concerned with gas station food? I don't think anyone would judge someone for being concerned with such thing....
The Starbucks Creme Frappucino has no coffee. The bases of the fraps, are coffee base syrup or creme base syrup. So its literally milk, pumpkin spice syrup, creme base syrup, ice, blended topped with whip cream. Its definitely their biggest seller, I personally like it with 1 shot of espresso.
@@xouthpaw it usually top-sells seasonal items. Everything else is for bots, I used to work for Starbucks and the most consistent drink I made was the brown sugar oat-milk shaken espresso.
seeing charlie’s smile sparked a gleam in my eye and a slight palpitation of the heart. my grandmother was watching as well and now she can walk again. my goodness, may charlie inspire millions once more
the pumpkin muffin with the creamcheese is actually a recipe we make at home. You make a pumpkin muffin and then stuff em with this creamcheese mix halfway through cooking. super good homemade at least !!
Didn't expect this but I will accept this great surprise. Nothing beats Charlie and Matt testing something just after Charlie had an interview with Wired which was also completely unexpected
I worked at Culver’s for 5 years. The pumpkin spice shake is vanilla, a scoop of pumpkin, and some cinnamon. And that jaunt is DELICIOUS. So y’all must’ve gotten a bad one idk 😭
@@kalebpeerenboom9926 yeah, I’ve been to some Florida locations and they weren’t very good. I’m from out west, and even here my store was one of the only good ones in the state
Hey! Starbucks worker here! At 35:38 when you had the Pumpkin Spice Creme Frappuccino, you said that it was the best coffee drink you had... I wanted to give you the heads up that there is no coffee in our creme frapps!! Whenever we make a drink that is creme based, we do not use our coffee base frapp roast! In order for you to have coffee in it you would have to order a Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino! They I have yet to compare them, but i have had guests tell me that they taste very different from one another!
I’m surprised they didn’t find the actual pumpkin spice Oreos. I have a pack of them, was surprised when I saw the spooky ones and not the pumpkin spice ones
Lucky!!! I'be never had pumpkin spiced oreos before, but they sound pretty good. I live in the UK, so they probably just don't sell them here. We get pumpkin spiced lattes from some cafes/coffee shops, but not a lot of other things pumpkin spiced. I think it may be more of a USA thing.
I work at wawa and I agree that the pumpkin stuff is pretty sweet. The pumpkin coffee from the thermoses is pumpkin spice, while the hot coffee with pumpkin in it you had in the white cup is actually pumpkin PIE squeeze, so there is a slight difference in flavor.
I would looove to see you guys try the food and drink items right as you get them. Like driving around to the different locations and trying them in the parking lot 😂
I worked at Culvers for three years- as long as they're doing it right. Its literally the custard mix with milk, pumpkin pie mix from a can, and cinnamon 💀
They’re all close friends and have know each other for years they obviously trust each other enough to share, pretty moronic to mention that as they do it in damn near every video 🙄
if it’s a cream frappe from starbucks then there’s actually no coffee in it so that could be another reason why Charlie likes it more that he thought he would 💀 although the frappucinos from starbucks are usually always a safe bet whether they have coffee or not flavor wise, I’ve never been disappointed by a frappucino
@AntiOfficerBMTI read your description and I totally agree with you Who in the right mind thinks hitler of all people is in heaven?!!?! That’s like saying the holocaust was just a scratch
So, the reason the Culver’s pumpkin was so much more pumpkin forward is there’s actual pumpkin pie filling in it. Pumpkin is a very odd(?) Flavor If you’re not expecting it. So it’s the only(?) one that’s actual Pumpkin and Spices, not Pumpkin Pie Spices
As a dunkins employee I cant confirm that there is bear minimal sugar in the latte, the pumpkin swirl has sugar in it but the vanilla is the sugar free version we do not add sugar unless you ask for it generally it consists of pumpkin swirl (sugar and dairy added to the flavor) vanilla shot (what I think is just vanilla extract a bit) milk (milk) and espresso (stronger then normal coffee beans)
I see Charlie and Tier List I click immediately. Love listening to you two try this stuff and react to it. On the frosty it's not bad but it's not for me. It's insanely too sweet for me.
I think the 2 best pumpkin things I've had this season are the chai tea lattes at starbucks and the pumpkin bread ice cream at cold stone. I've gotten SO much of that already.
Pumpkin spice is said to clear out your pores. It does remind you of the fact that Halloween could easily transport you to places you've never been before.
Yes!! I was shocked because I've never had a bad one at any location, and I look forward to Culver's bringing them back every year. Are they just not cleaning their stuff at that location, what the hell happened??
the information you all present about food and its nutritional aspects is so useful that I forgive you for hating coffee, we all make wrong decisions and some times we have to allow others too.
Gotta give this guy his props for naming city of heroes as his favorite game on his wired interview. That game was really something special when I was younger. Really wish it was still available to play.
Dunkin' employee here: There was no cream and sugar added in your coffee, we don't add it unless specified. This was probably black coffee with Pumpkin swirl in it.
Honestly I don’t even think that drink needs sugar. I’ve gotten it with just the swirl and cream and the syrup is so sweet that with sugar it would just be far too much. The cream also helps sweeten it, so the sugar is just unnecessary as hell. Plus I’ve noticed Dunking puts so much sugar in their drinks when asked for. How much do you guys put in a small?
As far as Holiday shakes, Chick-fil-A has a bangin ass peppermint bark milkshake. Makes my mouth water like Niagara Falls. Fills my belly with the holiday spirit🙌🏼
I wanted to share that the reason that first pumpkin drink from dunkin was so strong because it’s the signature pumpkin spice latte, and that has a shot of espresso in it, and most of the time the employees don’t know what a shot of espresso is so they end up putting too much in there, coming from someone who enjoys coffee and works at dunkin
I worked at culver's and I can't say it ever tasted like fish to me as much as I find that hilarious lmao. It's made with pumpkin pie mix and salted caramel blended tohgether
But also idk could be out of date pumpkin. But also there is a chance it was close to where they store the fish that is ready to be made which could easily make it taste fishy
This is the first time in years I have been able to fully concentrate on a video of this length without pausing or multitasking. This video was pure gold
Charlie talking about his urethral swab experience is very reminiscent of the time I had a UTI. I empathize with the being scared to pee part. Worst pain of my life.
Most “pumpkin” products arnt actually made from real pumpkins, even 100 percent canned. It’s made from different squash for better flavor and it’s cheaper. The FDA doesn’t really have a tight definition of what’s called a pumpkin. Some even use butternut squash.
Current Starbucks barista here: Crème fraps don’t have coffee 👍 milk, ice, pumpkin sauce, crème base blended and whipped cream topped with pumpkin spice topping 😊
