*Fun Fact:* Mike Tyson played the Punch Out game himself and can't even passed the first level. This means that Glass Joe actually beats Mike Tyson in a fight and that's his first KO. So his "1 - 99" makes a lot of sense.

Oh man, the first time I ever knocked Mr. Dream on his rear-end is something I'll never forget - this was one of the first NES games I became totally enamored with. Still 110% awesomeness, guaranteed!

Minute 31:38 Was for me the most exciting moment of my life, when I defeated Super Macho Man, and I saw how that newspaper declared that I was the new champion!! Old good times.

Ugh, I STILL have childhood rage flashbacks of Soda Popinsky laughing at me like an a**hole after knocking me out! Something about his taunting laugh, in particular, that always made me wanna throw my controller at the damn screen!

I like how a guy from Germany, and a guy from Japan are in the same circuit, and a guy from France is in the same circuit that gets beaten up all the time.

Which came first, Mike Tyson or Mr. Dream Punch-Out? I only remember Mike Tyson's Punch-Out and it looks like they turned MT white to make Mr. Dream. Hmmmm.... Also, how come you never hit "select" between rounds to get that extra special massage that increases your health?

Got it for Christmas in 1990. Good times

Sometimes I couldn't play this game straight as a kid back in the 90s. The opponents expression after hitting them made me and my cousin laugh when he rented it for the NES from a video store (Remembering that dim plastic cover box it came with along with the instruction book then that silver label with the video store name on it with 'RETURN AFTER THREE DAYS') when I visited his house in NJ on those nights with the big color TV, the sound was kinda muffled but you could hear it. We had so much fun with this game after fries, mash, veggies and fried chicken when aunty treated us. Memories :) Oh aunty wanted the game off after 10pm.. Sucked. We had to go to bed at that time so my dad picked me up in the morning at 7, third night we only made it to Soda Popinsky xD

Man u know exactly what ur doing. Just realized that was my problem. I knew they would “sign” when they would attack, but i didnt know how much you can punish them with the right button combo, and even knock them back on the ground in like two punches. I was always thinking defense!

I'm still playing this game and others NES GAMES in my Nintendo ds lite some one else in 2020

Played this countless times as a kid with my dad. I used to always call Little Mac "Dave" because I thought he was Dave Seville from the Chipmunks! Only a toddler would think of that!

I didn't realize there were different versions of the game. Thought I was just remembering it wrong, but Soda Popinski never did the 'long dodges' in Mike Tyson's punch out.

Nobody ever figures out(THIS PLAYER DID) that you can hit Don Flamenco in the belly after the jab to get stars in the rematch; it's easy and you can win in the 1st round by doing so. When trying to hit him with your 3rd star punch, you will have to do so using a combo or else he'll dodge it! On Sandman(when he starts doing his moving Bald Bull jabs), you can make him predictable by throwing a head punch at him. He'll dodge and immediately come back with a jab instead of stalling and--at the same time--you'll know exactly when he will punch. That's why you have so many hearts when you face him: you are supposed to use your punches so that he will speed up. In addition, if your reflexes are fast enough, you can also punch him 1 extra time when does these Bald Bull jabs. After hitting him as normal when he does one, punch at his head again and he will block it and try to counter you fast. Dodge his counterpunch to get an extra head punch on him. I have been able to put him down twice in 1 round using this strategy. On Super Macho Man, when he pauses, you will get 1 star for every other head punch you use. He'll block ever other one. Before he begins his spin punches, you can get 2 or 3 stars within each spin punch sequence. With these stars, it's fairly easy to get him in the very first round...

The second piston Honda if you can clock in when he's coming in when he backs up and then comes forward he'll stay down on the first knockdown

I remember playing this game when I was 12, it thook me forever to get to mike Tyson and when I did it was a snowy day in CT and the wind was crazy need less to say we lost power when I was fighting mike Tyson 😢

Btw I believe the reason why Mike Tyson was switched to Mr dream is bc not only did his contract expire, but he bit someone’s ear off.

I still remember when I had the ntdec copy of the cartridge

Ya know after all these years, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Von Kaiser knocked down with a body punch....

I just turned 34. I probably played this for the first time when I was 6, maybe? I remember back then being so angry not being able to figure out king hippo. My mom would let me play nes for like 30 minutes before bed on school nights. I would breeze through until King Hippo, then fail. I play this game probably once every few weeks now. Still haven't beaten Mr. Dream or tyson. I'm just not meant to be the champ, I guess.
