Local network station feature on the Cubby Bear, Chicago -- Cubs fans by day, punk shows at night. Filmed during Cubs home opener (?), and DOA/Out of Order show -- April 1984. It is not a Target video production -- that is just the end of what is recorded on the tape beforehand. This is from a 23 year old VHS tape so the quality is poor and the color was lost during conversion.

Anthony Illarde - Drummer , Rights of The Accused , Lava Sutra , Goblins , Chamber Strings - (2:31). Tom Faulkoner - Bassist , ROTA , Mystery Girls -(2:20....I think.). You can faintly hear "The Enemy" by DOA ... Cubby Bear used to be a great place to see a show. It might as well be in the suburbs , now.

"these kids are just slam dancing...." hahahahah Love Cubby Bear: saw Cro-Mags there.... Saw Murphy's Law there... shit countless others.... Also great Chicago venues from back in the day: Dreamerz on Miluakee Ave. ; Medusa's, The Vic Theater ; Caberet Metro of course ... Aragon Ballroom....

That Murphy’s Law show literally changed my life. I was a sophomore in HS, never been to a real punk show before, was completely blown away, started my own band right after, still playing today.

Yep, I got on stage at 2:03-4, and bailed at 2:08-10. Wow 17 yrs old was so fun and so hopeful. What a great time to be in our teens. 😅

Good year for the Cubbies! Pretty good year for the punk scene. Punks and jocks unite! Ha! I have to admit, Cubby Bear isn't my cup of tea.

Cubby Bear has changed even more. A few years ago they made it super trendy, but the rock shows are there almost nightly still. Lots of bands go through there. Too bad they got rid of the mystique of the classic old corner bar.

Thanks George Lucas (Owner). By the very early 80's The Bookings were way more varied than slam punk. Many Alternative Rock (inc. Dare i say New Wave) & etc Bands inc. National acts, always very well attended. Sue Miller (Pre West End/Lounge Ax) & Cindy Illig were a Big part of the Bookings! Many Fun Great Music nights. bohemia & (Jim) Desmond Band were some of my favs & many Live music clubs in the area then, Caberet Metro (Thanks Joe S), Tuts, Jamies, to name a few. Best, a safe non slam Pogo Dancer.

I was at this show. Wish they would have interviewed me. Sox were the 83 Division Champions and I would have loved to have pointed that out. Screw the Cubs!

They didn't invent color television until 1985.
