Punk (Ken) vs. iDom (Poison) - FT3 - No Neutral 5v5 Exhibition

This was a non-neutral game, it's in the title. They verse again later without any special rules, just regular SF V, and Punk absolutely destroys Poison.

Punk struggles against Dhalsim / Poison because his pride forces him to use Karin and it's just not a good pick. Like Brian_F said during the FT5, Poison beats Karin. There's no argument here. I'm actually proud of him for swallowing his pride *just this once* and busting out a fast character in the 9th match, which is what you need to counter Dhalsim / Poison.

Ken's neutral is not bad at all. Even without fireballs (though the fact that his fireball just exists is big,) Ken probably has a better matchup than Karin vs Poison. The big picture you're missing is how strong Ken can pressure Poison especially how free he gets in once he activates which is something Karin has to work hard for. Ken is also one of Punk's best characters anyway and it's just an exhibition so it's a great place to experiment.

@@jooper2861 not missing big picture, he wasnt using fireballs to even play the guessing game. he only used fireballs towards the end when his back was against the wall and exhausted all his options. the first 2 matches he was just playing poisons game and trying to jump in and get corner pressure...so why not just do that with a better neutral heavy character? if he had used fireballs at the beginning he probably wouldve won it more handedly instead of it coming down to the wire.

@@hhearvey57 he was using a lot of fireballs at first but he kept trading with the whip move and I think the trade was in Poison's favor.

​@@hhearvey57 You're just restating what you've already said. Ken's V-trigger activation literally gives him free in: that is the big picture that you said you didn't miss but didn't even bring up. Punk knows more than you and I when a good time to throw a fireball is. Poison dominates the neutral, that is literally how her character is designed and you just have to deal with the fact that she's winning anywhere near or past midscreen range. Ken has good options. He is a good character with good whiff punish buttons and amazing close up pressure. Punk already played IDom the same day with Karin (his best and very neutral heavy character) and lost like 3 straight at the end of the set. Ken is a character that Punk knows how to play well. This is just an exhibition match. I don't even know what other neutral heavy characters you're talking about that he could play.
