S&H green stamps was I believe a catalog service that you would collect & fill the books with stamps you collected & could purchase items from the catalog with your filled books. I still remember my mom & grandmom collecting them when I was very little.

I saw a documentary recently on Donora. The factories especially the Zinc Works made workers deathly ill during their work week. They would recover enough over the weekend to do it all over again. There was a Halloween parade held during the height of the smog that was so thick you couldn't see across the street. There are probably pics of it in the museum.

Thank you for sharing the babies with us. While up that way, a little over 3 hrs drive is Thousand Islands, New York. Beautiful area with literally a thousand islands with Hearts Castile on one of them. Castles has a bitter-sweet love story. Have fun in Buffalo

My mother collected green stamps when she shopped at certain grocery and other stores that showed the green stamp symbol on window. Then she would take her books of stamps to the green stamp store to get dishes, drink glasses, pots you name it. This was popular in the 60s. Thanks for the memories, Jacob❤

You would get stamps from grocery store, collecting them in books, then redeeming them for goods.

What an interesting but sad piece of history the smog museum represents . Loved the Big Mac Museum/restaurant. I haven't had a Big Mac in quite some time but the last few times I did I found it had changed and was not as good . Its smaller for one thing and the bread was not the same . Yours looked good . The baby groundhogs are so cute . You got some really good shots . Great video. Keep Safe ❤Keep Well ❤

I went to high school near that Rayne Drop Inn II you saw. The Rayne Drop Inn shut down and was reopened by new owners. That is why it has been named the 2nd.

On the S&H green stamps, for so many dollars you spent in the store, they gave you so many stamps at the cash register, to put in a stamp book and after you collected so many stamps, you turned in the stamp book for merchandise. There was a list of items you could redeem the stamps for.

The groundhog babies are AWESOME!! How cute to see them in Phil's Burrow. It us cool he has a companion in Phyllis, n now a couple of babies to ensure the lineage of Punksatawney Phil!
