Unfortunately I doubt that. Brian Henson both fired Steve, and hired Matt for the job. Steve Whitmire dug the hole deeper by saying either he stayed and played all his characters including Kermit, or fire him. I’m hoping they at least allow him to come back and play Rizzo
I think the Henson kids and Disney hated Whitmire cause he told the facts. I miss Steve, he will always be 1000 times more frog than Constantine here. No offense to Matt, but he just ain’t Kermit. I know they never will but if they ever rehired, Steve Whitmire, I think be pretty funny if they just revealed that it’s been Constantine under deep cover since 2017 I know they both showed up together in a special, will be fun if they just tap, chalked it up to technology and movie magic. Lol 😂
We've seen millions of RU-vidrs mimicking Kermit's voice but the company with more money than the government can't get someone who sounds similar to the Kermit we've known for decades
I'm just those 4 month late, but normally (on movies, tv and stages) the main perfomer animates one hand only (the left one, in fact most muppets are left-handed) while a secondary performer animates the muppet's right hand. Here Matt has to manage both Kermits hands with one hand, that's why he's so stiff. Hope has been useful
Matt Vogel is great, I will not tolerate any Matt Vogel slander in this house. Just because he is different does not mean he is bad. Kermit's mannerisms, attitude, and personality are still intact and that's all I could ask for.
I just realized, Matt voices Constantine. No wonder the impression is so off! He is literally just doing his Constantine impression but without the Russian accent!
After Jim Henson’s passing in 1990, Steve Whitmire took over as Kermit. That is, until 2017, when he was let go from The Muppets Studio. Not sure why. But ever since, Matt Vogel (in this video) took over for Kermit. He’s portrayed other Muppets such as Big Bird, Uncle Deadly, and Sweetums. He also played Constantine (Kermit’s evil doppelgänger) in “Muppets Most Wanted.” And yeah, he sounds much different from his predecessors, but I trust him as a Muppeteer.
@@fedoratheexplorer6422 he sounded more like Kermit when he was doing Constantine's impression of Kermit. why is he suddenly incapable of doing that impression sans accent?
I don't like the Matt Vogel hate im seeing in this comment section. I think he's doing great and if Disney actually GAVE HIM GOOD MATERIAL TO WORK WITH i think he'd be even better, but seeing hoe Disney's treated the Muppets, i doubt it. Anyway, i love Mat Vogel. It's a shame Steve Whitmire isn't Kermit anymore but i think Vogel's take, while different, is still good.
Way to not try to do his voice at all. Then kids will grow up not knowing his real voice. These companies and actors need to take the legacy more seriously.
I don’t hate Matt Vogel and I won’t say that he isn’t trying but….they really couldn’t have chosen anybody else to voice Kermit if not Steve Whitmire! Matt Vogel has voiced other characters and sounded pretty good (he voices Sweetums) but this…this is awful.
Everyone saying that they need to bring Steve back or that Matt does a bad job needs to understand that Steve got fired for being impossible to work with. He was being a jerk. And it is NOT Matt's fault that he doesn't have the voice down yet, he had the role of Kermit thrust upon him very suddenly and he's getting there. He is already responsible for almost all of Jerry Nelson's old characters, and adding Kermit the friggin Frog is a huge responsibility. Cut him some damn slack.
I definitely want to give Matt credit. Steve however was no jerk. He may have been a little difficult to work with but it was only to guide the Muppets in the right direction. Steve said he never said these scrips were terrible or refused to do the work. He would make comments and offer notes. Steve admitted that doing this all the time was probably annoying everyone.
@@Asukenick that is very fair and true, but as I understand it he also was refusing to take on an understudy and show up for important events that he thought were below him. A few of the Henson kids themselves even spoke up about it. I'm not saying that I dislike Steve or anything, I love him and I appreciate all the work he's done. But you are right, calling him a jerk was probably uncalled for. I was just feeling mad that people were shitting on Matt's performance.
@@abbyleavitt6327 I may not love Matt's Kermit but he still does a great job with other characters. He is very talented. Also Steve has explained many times that understudies with the Muppets don't work and that Jim never used them either.
